When using external links for onsite optimization, should they be follow or nofollow links?

I'm trying to optimize my home page and need to add external links. I'm planning to link to other authoritative sites. Should they be follow or no follow links?

If your site hasn't bad reputation and you have no problem into help increase the authority of the site you link to, AND:
1. The sites belongs to your niche: do follow.
2. You trust in their SEO practices and you think they are not penalized by Google: do follow.
If is your competitor or you are not interested into help them earn authority and rank: no follow.
If the site is not related at all with your content (for example you just want to promote other sites, profiles or platforms you own): no follow.
Make look the links natural, specially do follow ones. Be careful using the keyword on it's own in the anchor text.

Optimizing images and more for page speed
Hey everyone! I run a comparison/affiliate site for men's clothing. On the side of that, I have a Squarespace site for inspiration, articles and outfit pictures. I've tried to optimize site speed for the Squarespace site without much success. I've run all pictures trough JPEGmini to decrease file size but it doesn't seem to be enough. Below I attached the result I got when I run one of the pages trough Lighthouse and GTmetrix. Do you have recommendations of what I can do to improve the results? Is it a good idea to use next-gen formats for pictures as Google suggests as an example? Kind regards,

How to write an optimal h1?
I am working on optimizing the content on my site and am currently reviewing my h1s and seeing how they can be improved. What is the exact purpose of the h1 and how should it differ from the meta title?We sell clothing apparel on my site. So for example- my meta title for women's printed tops category is- Printed tops for women I Patterned Shirts & Tunics I Company Name. How should my h1 differ from this? Thanks.

Hi All, We have pages which has names of people which we have created a Alink when clicked it goes to the related persons name. Now Google has indexed it as a seperate page example www.xyz.com/person/name www.xyz.com/person/name?alinks Now the same page is seen in google 2 times. How can i handle this please

Have you used Reziew or Reevoo?
We are looking into companies to work with for customer reviews and ratings on our e-commerce site. We want our customers to see what others think and we want unique and fresh content on our site for Google to see and the rating star rich snippets in the SERPs. Two companies we're looking at right now are Reziew and Reevoo. Has anyone had any experience working with them? Any advice for choosing one? Or advice in general about choosing a partner for this? Too many on page links on ecommerce site
I have an online store with 10 catagories, many of those have subcategories. I have a tree style navigation menu on the page. This helps people quickly find what they need. However, I end up with about 125 links on the page that way. Does google really penalize me for this? Is there anyway around this? Advice much appreciated!
