I'm working on a new website and attempting to make it as efficient as possible. I've put it through a few scanners and have a few concerns.

Is it true that having long titles is beneficial? My contact page, for example, is just titled contact, while my FAQ page is simply titled commonly asked questions.

What about meta descriptions for each page? Do they still serve a purpose nowadays?

Because my site title is a graphic header, having a big text title doesn't really suit with the style, the H1 tag is missing on a few pages. Is there any way to get around this?

Difference in Forum and Blog for SEO

I was pushing my employer to agree to switch to add a blog onto our site and he asked me, what is the difference between the blog and a forum for SEO purposes. Besides the general look and feel and a forum being more community oriented, is a blog better than a forum for seo, and if so, why? It can be vice-versa I just need to fully understand this myself so I can begin to work on one and explain it to my employer. If anyone can provide any insight, it will be much appreciated.

Online Publisher networks (Splash Press) Question

Hi, If you can get into a network as a writer it's great because you can expose your brand on high auth websites without the hassle of having to build a relationship with each site - once your in, your into all the websites on the network. So question is, isn't this going to be bad for SEO, I assume all the websites are on the same server and I have seen some where they interlink in the network. Apart from that though they look really great, good fresh content, high DA/PA, lots of social activity etc. A couple I have come across are: Splash Press & Alloy Digital (If you know of any more please post them up).

Is the ip address important for SEO?

Hello, I'm going to start a new SEO project. It must be positioned in Google EEUU, so I'm trying to get the hosting in an EE.UU provider to get an ip for EEUU. Does having blog on subdomain weaken primary site's SEO?

I have a Joomla site with a WordPress subdomain that I'm wanting to use as a learning center. It's far more simple for new blog editors and publishers to learn that over Joomla. The issue I'm facing is trying to figure out rather having the blog put into the primary domain instead of a subdomain will hurt my ratings at all? Where I got the idea that it may hurt ratings is due to how (from what I understand) search engines will see a subdomain slightly different than the primary domain. Thank you for any help!

Simple question: How many words optimal for blog posts

Hello, We're adding a blog to one of our sites. How many words should be in a blog post for it to be optimal for the search engines? If it varies from industry to industry, please give a couple of examples. We were going to do 500 words but that seems a bit long. Thanks!

Best Blog Post Format for SEO?

Wondering what the best way is to display blog posts, and organize a blog in general, for maximum SEO benefit. Displaying the entire blog post for the reader to scroll down right on the main page of the blog? With previous posts displayed farther down on the same page. Displaying a snippet/paragraph of the post with a link to continue reading - this way each blog post has it's own dedicated page? And the main blog page can display more topics. Any additional ideas or suggestions to think about would be great. Thank You!
