New To SEOMOZ, 2 Questions...
-
Hi,
1. I got signed up with SEOMOZ yesterday and would like to know about the competitive analysis tool. I saw in a demo video of SEOMOZ that there was an aspect of Social links (Facebook etc) included in the analysis, I can't see this in my analysis however.
2. Is it possible to change websites over time? Let say in a few months I want to work on a new website, can I remove one of my 5 and add a new one?
Thanks!
James

Hi James,
First, you don't need to delete your campaigns.
You can archive a campaign that you are not wanting to actively check. If you should wish to make it active again, you will need an empty campaign slot, so can archive something else that you don't need and activate the old campaign again.
To Archive, just go to the campaign in question, click the blue Campaign Settings link at the top. Scroll right to the bottom of the page and click the Archive button (next to delete). To make an archived campaign active again, go to Campaigns, choose Archived Campaigns, then click Activate for the campaign you wish to restore.
On your other question
I think the Social analysis you are referring to is that included in the Open Site Explorer tool. When you are logged into your SEOmoz Pro Account and use Open Site Explorer, you can see social data for your site. There is a button in the Open Site Explorer interface (right below where you type your URL) that allows you to load additional sites for comparison. The information that appears in the Competitive Analysis section of your campaign is drawn from Open Site Explorer, but the tool itself provides much more powerful options for analysis.
Check out all of the different Filters and the Advanced Reports section while you are there.
Hope that helps,
Sha

OK Crawl Test Link Question Again!
I've downloaded a crawl test and column G Link Count reads 62 and yep there are a total of 62 links on the page in question. Column AM Internal Links reads 303 and yep there are somewhere in the order of 303 pages pointing at this one. Root Domains is surprisingly low at 6, so maybe there are only 6 domains linking to this page. BUT... External Links read 51. There are not 51 links pointing away from this domain on this page, no way hozay, so can anybody tell me what is meant by 'External Links? A humble thank you in anticipation of an education. Jem

Duplicate content in SEOMOZ report
Hi guys, The SEOMOZ report shows there is duplicate content on my Magento ecommerce: footdistrict.com Example: http://footdistrict.com/nike-air-royalty-386169602.html?___store=footdistrict_en Duplicate content shown on the report: http://footdistrict.com/marcas/puma.html?___store=footdistrict_en

http://footdistrict.com/new-balance-gm500mbn.html?___store=footdistrict_en
http://footdistrict.com/new-balance-m400nnb.html?___store=footdistrict_en My guess is that this is due to the fixed footer that we have set where modal windows pop up with delivery info and so on. As such, all the content within it is repeated through all the pages What do you recommend me to remove this duplicate content? I have read about duplicate content issues but they don't usually deal with div tag duplicate issues, modal windows and so on. Thanks Regards0 -
Switching to a new website & Search Engine Rankings
Hello! We have been doing a lot of work on our SEO over the last few months and are thrilled to be in the top four four "edmonton website design" in our city. However, we are planning to launch a new website soon and are very concerned that this could negatively effect our rankings (as was the case with one of our competitors this week). What tips and techniques can you recommend in this case? On paper, the SEO on our new site is much better than the last - the url structure, contact info and content is much more targeted to our desired search terms, however, I don't want to take any chances. Is there any way to be certain (as certain as possible) that we will not get bumped to page 2? Thanks, Anton

Site Not On Google, SEOmoz shows as 43
The site I'm helping with was at one time a page 1, even #1 on page 1. Lots of changes, problems when someone else did something and dropped to page 4 for keyword. After some recent tweaking I did, it no longer shows on rankings. No penalty on Google Webmaster, in Webmaster tools it shows the sitemap processed with no errors. SEOmoz still shows it at #43 in Rankings. Why does SEOmoz see it, but I don't? Site is www.plussizeplum.com (sorry, plus size women's lingerie) and keywords are "plus size lingerie".

Tried to find correlation between SEOMOZ statistic and google ranking.
I've made Google US search and than tried to compare SEOMOZ data for first few result. I've used Open Site Explorer and On-Page Report Card. On attached picture you can find this statistic. Pages are sorted in order as they appear in Google search. For me is big question why position 2 and 4 is so hight and 6 is only 6. And what position 6 should do to go up. Thank you. 2s9zlu8.jpg

How does SeoMoz works with noindex meta tags?
In my last SeoMoz Crawl I've found a lot of warnings about duplicated content in page with a noindex meta tag. Is that normal? These pages should not be considered as indexable content of my website, isn't it?
