How to show ratings on Google?
-
One thing I have noticed recently is "review ratings" appearing in the Google search results. I have attached a screenshot which shows an example of this.
I think this is a really good feature and helps make a listing stand out in the SERPs, I would certainly be more likely to click this one.
My question is how do you code for it so that Google will display it? The URL of the page in question is http://www.footy-boots.com/inter-milan-away-shirt-2011-2012-9430/

Ah ok, sorry I got the wrong end of that.
They will be using rich snippets, a markup such as shema.org - http://schema.org/Review or http://schema.org/AggregateRating should achieve the result

Thanks for your feedback. However, in this particular case I am not quite sure how this applies.
I think you are referring to the rating of the actual store, whereas I am referring to the rating being shown for a specific product.
The URL in question from this example is not actually an eCommerce website, but it is a blog. They write about new products and their members vote on them.
Somehow, they have managed to get Google to show this rating on the SERPs and I am wondering how they have done this?

Ratings such as this are 'pulled' from information in Google products / reviews. If someone reviews the website on Google Checkout or a supported thirty party review sites such as Ciao and Trustpilot this information is pulled into Google products centrally and tied to that domain to display in SERPs.

OSE - still showing me links are there when they are not?
Has anyone else had the issue for a couple of months now where ose is showing links that are live when they are not. I am doing seo for a big e-commerce website so it is important i can find out what the anchor text distribution is for the domain. How is this possible when ose shows me links which are not live? There's been 2 or 3 updates and still showing expired links in our back-link profile. This is very frustrating and has led me to see if anyone else can recommend an alternative which is more up to date? And yes before seomoz reply, i know you only update a certain percentage of the web.

Sitemaps for Google
In Google Webmaster Central, if a URL is reported in your site map as 404 (Not found), I'm assuming Google will automatically clean it up and that the next time we generate a sitemap, it won't include the 404 URL. Is this true? Do we need to comb through our sitemap files and remove the 404 pages Google finds, our will it "automagically" be cleaned up by Google's next crawl of our site?

UK website ranking higher in Google.com than Google.co.uk
Hi, I have a UK website which was formerly ranked 1st in Google.co.uk and .com for my keyword phrase and has recently slipped to 6th in .co.uk but is higher in position 4 in Google.com. I have conducted a little research and can’t say for certain but I wonder if it is possible that too many of my backlinks are US based and therefore Google thinks my website is also US based. Checked Google WmT and we the geo-targeted to the UK. Our server is also UK based. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks

Google Places and Name Change
Hello - I have a client who is a realtor and changed agencies. I edited their Google Places entry and the new name of their agency and address are showing - but so is their old listing. The agency they left is now trying to sue them for showing up in a number one position with Google Places under their agency name. Is this an indexing issue with Google? Their name shows up under both agency names. The corrected one shows most often, but the old one is still popping up on occasion. Thanks,
