Adwords Question
-
Hi,
Not your standard SEO question, but I need expert advice all the same!
I am looking to set up an adwords campaign to track several things.
I need to track the initial page the click lands on from the PPC advert
I then need to track this click to see if they click to register on the site
I then need to track if they fill out the registration form and complete
The aim of this is to measure just how many people click the PPC advert, then drop off the site as they go through the sign up process.
Can this be done on adwords PPC tracking with the code adwords generates? and if not has anyone done something similar?
many thanks all!

Thanks David, between this answer and Damion you have given me some great advice, thanks for the URL - most helpful.

Great, many thanks for your time on this Damion.

David has it -- you'll want to do this in Google Analytics to get the best and most actionable data IMO. I always prefer doing this kind of thing in Analytics and not Adwords as you can also track what happens in organic / social / direct traffic, and see how that compares to your PPC clickstream.
So, in Analytics, set up a Goal at the final, confirmed "registration complete" page. You can then set up a funnel for the Goal (with the same steps as you outlined in your post).
(Setting up a funnel isn't mandatory, as you can get the data you want to extract from raw pageviews... landing page > registration page > confirmation page.)
You might also like to try this Excel Goal Funnel Report that pulls conversion data from Analytics and lets you do a lot of analysis, pivoting, and whatever else takes your fancy!

You can setup multiple conv tracking codes and/or track it thru analytics goals/ funnels
-look into analytics funnels they do just that -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IibCs23EuiE

I think this might be what you're after.

About how much time should I budget for an adwords audit?
Hi, I'm considering devoting either my time to or jobbing out an adwords audit. The account has about a dozen campaigns and in total about 60 ad groups, 15 landing pages. About 6000 clicks and about 450 lead gen conversions. Conversions are phone and thank you page. The account involves search, display and retargeting. Client is looking for actionable insights about both the account and the landing pages, prioritized, in order to lower cost per lead. Here are my questions: How many hours of work? How extensive of a deliverable is the result? What might this cost if I hired a knowledgeable individual (not a big firm)? Thanks!

Adwords shows clicks but no conversions in GA
Hi Folks, I was wondering if anyone has come across a similar situation, I have setup adwords campaigns and included these in my Google Tag Manager setup and deployed the GTM snippet to a clients site. In adwords I can see clicks (2,000+) however in Google Analytics I can see only a handful ot conversions. Is there anyway I can test/track a conversion to ensure that it is being processed and report correctly? Also within AdWords Conversion Tracking I have noticed that under the "Webpages" tab that pages other than the pages that should have the conversion code on them are listed. Have I setup my Adwords camapign or GTM tags incorrectly? Any and all feedback or insight would be greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Using my Adwords budget
Hi, I have a huge budget for adwords but I only seem to be using about 1/10 of it daily. How to I go about using more budget but also keeping my conversion costs and % around the same? And should each campaign have its own set of unique keywords? Should these keywords never appear in more than 1 campaign? Any tips on maximising budget and increasing conversions would be great. Thanks

Adwords Conversion Optimiser
OK Mozers! Here's the situation (my parents went away on a weeks vacation...) • I am managing an online furniture retail website Infurn .com • Our budget is 500 euro per day and we need basically 20% cost per sale and im hovering at 30 - 35% • I recently was given the opportunity to participate in The Conversion Optimiser which allows you to set a desired CPA and Google works its magic geting you that target by adjusting your bids accordingly using historical campaign data. • Is this something I should use? Or should I continue to hone my ad groups, bids, products, landing pages, and ad copy until I reach my 15 - 20% CPA goal? Thanks!

Google Adwords Quality Score Driving me I-N-S-A-N-E
Here's my issue, I have an Air Conditioning client for whom I've been managing their SEO and Adwords PPC for the past year. The SEO is going good, we are seeing tangible results every month will soon be on page 1 for their most competitive keyword. On the adwords side, we are having some major issues though and I'm racking my brain. We are somehow getting quality scores in the 2's and 3's on the regular. I've streamlined my campaigns down to the city and within those I've streamlined my keyword groups into the following groups: City (Campaign) - AIr Conditioning (keyword group) - AC Repair (keyword group) - Fix AC (keyword group) - Contractor (keyword group) - Air Conditioner (keyword group) Every keyword we're bidding on falls nicely into one of these keyword groups and we're putting about 10 key words in each. Landing pages have exact phrase match in page title, h1, bold words, contact form and a coupon image with all the meta tags indicating the image offer matches the offer in our ads. We are running 3-4 ads in each keyword and testing new ads almost daily. Still getting 2s and 3s on the highest trafficked keywords (air conditioning & ac repair). I've read everything out there, I signed up for wordstream which had some decent recommendations (basically break your ad groups into smaller verticals) which I've implemented to no avail. I'm beginning to think Google is just hustling all these companies in service industry who they know rely on adwords to get phone calls in the summer - especially the HVAC industry. I'm running out of ideas here other than just going to Vegas and putting all my client's on black at the roulette wheel. Seems like a much more fun way to piss away thousands of dollars and at least they'll give me some cocktails.

Can Adwords campaigns affect other campaigns performance?
I understand that keywords and adgroups within a campaign can affect the performance of other keywords within that parent campaign. I was interested to understand whether campaigns in my account can affect one another. I have an adwords account with around 30 campaigns. Some are heavy hitters and others get minimal to 0 traffic. Will these low quality campaigns drive up the costs of my high end campaigns?

Re Opening Question......Strange Visitors To Website
Ooppps, Looks like I closed this question a little early. So, I will give it another run. I paid to have some link work done...... (now I know better) Anyway, now there are several links and quite alot of traffic going to the site....... Unfortunately now my bounce is going up..... because online games really has nothing to do with Concrete Pumps and Pump Parts.... go figure. What is a logical next step to correct the problem. Thank You!
