SEO benefits of linking logo to homepage?
-
Hello All,
It will be helpful if anyone can list the benefits of linking the company logo (on every page of the website) to the home page, and how important it is in terms of internal linking / SEO factors.
Thank you.

[What are the] SEO benefits of linking logo to homepage?
It depends on the site. Take a look at: www.vzw.com. Notice their logo in the main navigation bar? This site does not offer a "home" button. The logo link is the only link to the home page.
As you navigate the site, if that logo did not exist, there would not be a reasonable way for users to return to the home page. Users would have to either use the sitemap link in the footer and select the home page, or use the Back button. From a functionality perspective, the linking logo is huge in this example.
Another consideration is the flow of PageRank. The home page is often the most important page of your site. It should normally be linked to from every page of your site. Again using the verizonwireless.com site example, if that logo link did not exist the PR of the site would be highly disrupted. It is of huge importance.
If you consider an average site with a "Home" navigation option, the importance is greatly diminished in comparison. The logo would simply represent a secondary link to the home page.

Lazy Loading & Image SEO
I wanted to implement lazy loading on my whole domain, but was unsure about the effect on the organic image search. Therefore I implemented it some months ago on 3 selected URLs with medium organic image traffic. Unfortunately all 3 pages dropped significantly (roughly 80%) of image impressions and clicks (seach console data). It seems that just images within the fold, that are not loaded via lazy load are still ranking. Does anybody have here more positive experiences?

YouTube SEO: Can low quality videos you posted in the past hurt your seo for future videos ?
I have a very old youtube channel (10 years maybe) with some low quality videos and a few thousands subscribers. Now I decided to give it go and make good quality videos. But one question keeps coming: maybe the fact that this channel is old and with bad videos with very low retention, this would affect the seo of the new videos ? Is it better to start a new channel from scratch ? even if its more difficult ? Thank you!

Best Way to Replace Lost Links
We found a particular client that was using a 3rd party backlinker to build links (they were outsourced). The backlinks appeared to be low quality, just basic text and no substantial content surrounding it, usually like a forum profile. The backlinker was swapped out. However, we've been suffering from a big loss of links. We anticipated that quite a few of the links the previous crew were managing would be lost, however, we've lost over 1500. Some of that is due to the former SEO company using sitesays.com as part of their strategy. That site has since removed all listings/links because they were hit by recent algorithm changes. Every week GWT has fewer and fewer links coming from that site. We expect this to continue until GWT has removed all links from that site. We are also losing ground (quickly) on local rankings too. We believe this is due to the high number of links lost. What is best practice when building links to counter this issue? Is there anything that can be done to stem the link purge and, if possible, gain ground on rankings again?

When do I use no-follow links to interlink on my own site?
Hi Mozzers, When would I ever want to use no-follow links when interlinking pages on my site? The more authority being passed around, the better, right? Does it save or conserve page rank / authority from being transferred to pages you don't necessarily need it on? Thanks!

Tips for local link building?
Hello Mozzers, Working on a site that has locations around the country and is targeting words like "city name+long tail keyword". They're fairly well optimized on-site, so we're working on recommending localized content but could use some advice for link building. Beyond Google places, what have you guys seen that works?

SEO & Mass-Renaming of Images: Image Name, Alt Text, etc.
We are currently in the process of changing all of our image names and their alt-tags to be descriptive of their content. For instance, changing image names from image0001.jpg to blue-cell-phone-cover. We have hundreds of images on our site, would it be best to rename all of the images and update their tags in one sweeping change or trickle the changes, uploading changed images every other day or so?

Local SEO: What is the largest Google Places bulk upload you have ever done?
Hi All, One of my clients recently requested my team at our agency to do a bulk up load of business locations. We did the bulk upload and it came to around 652 or so locations in the form. I have done some serious bulk uploads in the past around 500 locations but never this high. My question is to SEO moz what is the largest bulk upload or single upload you have done on Google Places?
