How to display the exact url of our subsite in Google
-
Hi,
I'm new to SEO and we just recently relaunched our site. Our site consist of 6 hotels that acts as a subsite. We noticed that when search for one of the hotels what is coming in the google is the main website.
Example: We search for flora grand. We expect that in Google it will display the first link as
www.florahospitality.com/dubai-flora-grand-hotel.aspx.
But it show the main site which is www.florahospitality.com
What do I miss here?

It's baaaaack
Don't know why. By in any case. If you come across this again. First check if the page is even indexed and try to find out why the page isn't indexed. Usually because of duplicate content or excluding it somewhere in robots.txt or putting a noindex nofollow in the head.

Well we do have a multilingual site but it is not machine translated and I use canonical tags that include the language code to differentiate each page.
How can I tell google to reindexed these pages?
-
The page isnt indexed
Do this search, and you'll see that it isn't inclued in Google's index: http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.florahospitality.com%2Fdubai-flora-grand-hotel.aspx
I don't know why the page isn't indexed though.
It has a ROBOTS index follow and it's not excluded in your Robots.txt. Try linking to it from another spot on your site. Maybe you have some duplicate content somewhere? So content that's the same as the content on that page.
Once the page is indexed, your homepage could still rank higher for the search term (not likely though) but because your homepage always accrues the most links, so will also be the most popular url, according to Google, to show.

Google is indexing bad URLS
Hi All, The site I am working on is built on Wordpress. The plugin Revolution Slider was downloaded. While no longer utilized, it still remained on the site for some time. This plugin began creating hundreds of URLs containing nothing but code on the page. I noticed these URLs were being indexed by Google. The URLs follow the structure: www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/revslider/templates/this-part-changes/ I have done the following to prevent these URLs from being created & indexed: 1. Added a directive in my Htaccess to 404 all of these URLs 2. Blocked /wp-content/uploads/revslider/ in my robots.txt 3. Manually de-inedex each URL using the GSC tool 4. Deleted the plugin However, new URLs still appear in Google's index, despite being blocked by robots.txt and resolving to a 404. Can anyone suggest any next steps? I Thanks!

Google and responsive content in display:none CSS
I’m building a WordPress site with Visual Composer and I’ve hit a point where I need to show a totally different section on a mobile compared to a desktop/tablet. My issue/question comes from the fact that both mobile and desktop rows will have the same content as well as H1/H2/H3 tags. From inspecting the elements I see the mobile only rows are hidden until the page size shrinks through being set to 'display: none' in the CSS (standard visual composer way of handling width & responsiveness) How will Google see this in terms of SEO? I don’t want to come across as if I’m cloaking text and H1 tags on the page (I have emailed the visual composer support but wanted to get an external opinion)

How to disallow google and roger?
Hey Guys and girls, i have a question, i want to disallow all robots from accessing a certain root link: Get rid of bots User-agent: * Disallow: /index.php?_a=login&redir=/index.php?_a=tellafriend%26productId=* Will this make the bots not to access any web link that has the prefix you see before the asterisk? And at least google and roger will get away by reading "user-agent: *"? I know this isn't the standard proceedure but if it works for google and seomoz bot we are good.

Directory URL structure last / in the url
Ok, So my site's urls works like this www.site.com/widgets/ If you go to www.site.com/widgets (without the last / ) you get a 404. My site did no used to require the last / to load the page but it has over the last year and my rankings have dropped on those pages... But Yahoo and BING still indexes all my pages without the last / and it some how still loads the page if you go to it from yahoo or bing, but it looks like this in the address bar once you arrive from bing or yahoo. http://www.site.com/404.asp?404;http://site.com:80/widgets/ How do I fix this? Should'nt all the engines see those pages the same way with the last / included? What is the best structure for SEO?
