RE: Too many On-Page Links on a WP based Website
I see
I don't really think it's a massive problem but to improve it why dont you take out the drop downs so rather then everything being one click away its 2 clicks
For example turn the parent pages into hubs of that category and this will cut down total number of links on pages across the site.
I hope that made sense
Also I noticed your using tags, I advise against these but if your going to use them you should noindex, follow these pages I checked a few and they were indexed.
This of course can cause duplicate content issues.

RE: Too many On-Page Links on a WP based Website
Hey Christoph,
I think you should be more concerned by your users navigating the site rather than Google. I don't think it's really that important on the amount of link but rather the type of link and where they are on your site.
If I were you I would work on your site architecture and create a better navigation for your users and an organised site will of course be crawled better.
Also organising your site into a few categories will help the engines to sort and better understand your site and it's content but don't go over board and remember categories are a tool to help you organise your site, so pages shouldn't really need multiple categories.
Hope this helps

RE: Slooooow motion SEO impact
Erm well I guess it depends on how dominant and broad the keywords your going after are.
Are you tracking long tail and still seeing no results?
Comparing to a pre seo report you'd expect to see at least something.
-
RE: Slooooow motion SEO impact
Yea strange one although I have seen it take month myself with very little improvement and then rapid growth.
At least you can use this as an example to the new client
Good luck man.
-
RE: Slooooow motion SEO impact
Well done first of all, result!
What was the age of the domain?
Otherwise was it around the time of any major updates? It could have been one of the many minor changes to the algo that could have just tipped the balance for you?

RE: Bounce Rate
Yep good answer cheers.
Conclusion - Totally inaccurate!
-
RE: Bounce Rate
Agreed! Very misleading and inaccurate if it is included.
-
RE: Bounce Rate
Haha don't worry your safe...for now!
Like all thing its should be used as a relative measure but it can be quite misleading especially for an obsessed client who doesn't know the real meaning of bounce rate, hence the reason for my question so I can explain it but the time on site is also misleading if the bounce rate is included.
-
RE: Bounce Rate
Hmm I guess it could be clearer and be labelled as 'avg. time on site' rather than 'time after search' which I assume your referring to?
-
Bounce Rate
Howdy Mozzers
Does anyone know if the 'average time on site' in Google analytics is calculated with bounce rate included?
For example if you have a 50% bounce rate and your average time on site is 2 minutes the actual time would be 4 minutes as the 50% bounce rate time is classed as 0.
I hope that is clear!
Cheers

RE: Need solid, no jargon definitions
Hey I recommend you read this http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo there is not much point in explaining these as you won't know what to do with them if you don't already know what they are.
Read this guide it's not that long and you will have a better understanding of what's what.

RE: How to set up SEOMOZ to track multilanguage sites?
Hey
Why not just set the main domain so its tracked by the US, UK and FR search engines and then enter your keywords for each language these will then be easily picked out in an excel sheet.
The only ones you might have problems with are the UK and US with it being the same language but that is just a little bit more excel filtering.
Hope this helps
Good luck

RE: Duplicating Articles/Blogs
It's not very clear what your saying but if you mean to submit it to completely different sites then I don't see there being a problem however you might want to consider doing a little refresh of the content as the more relevant and up to date it is the more chance it has of going viral etc Best of luck

RE: Do you have a testimonial for us? SEOmoz wants to hear them!
SEOmoz turn hours into minutes with their truly irreplaceable research tools; a must for any search & social professional.

RE: What are the best ways to improve/trigger "Brand Signals"?
Address and number on your site is a good start
-
RE: Switching Domain Names
Having a quick look, I'd say keep the domain you have now as business is one of your keywords "helping small businesses do business"?
Your URL isn't overly large so looks good to me and it's within the 3 word rule/ memorable etc.
If you do decide to 301 redirect to the shorter URL and transfer your content you stand to lose up to 10% of your hard earned "link love"
If it was me I wouldn't bother.

RE: Are duplicate titles an issue for pages I don't need ranking for?
Yea it's a major ranking factor so get them changed and unique otherwide the pages you want to be ranked for may be discredited
-
RE: Should I include location in title tag to rank higher in local search
If its relevant yes get it in there and try moving the address from the footer this is something I'm playing with due to it being a less important area

I really can't get my head round this

RE: Has anyone found a way to get site links in the SERPs?

-
URL Rewrite
Using the .htaccess file how do I rewrite a url from
www.exampleurl.com/index.php?page=example

removing index.php?page=
Any help is muchly appreciated

RE: Embeded Facebook widget with live stream
I'm not 100% on what your asking here but if its what I think then It doesn't matter either way as I believe content from embeded facebook apps as well as comments from a facebook login system arn't picked up by google and therefore don't count as "content"
Sorry If I missed what you ment, hope this helps
-
RE: Has anyone found a way to get site links in the SERPs?
Why remove them? surely it's better to have them then not.
-
RE: Has anyone found a way to get site links in the SERPs?

Meta descriptions
Whats the deal with the date at the start of the meta descriptions?
I have not really looked into this but I'm guessing its a blog thing?
The beautifully crafted meta description is now being cut short even though its within the character limit and is now only showing 36 characters!
Is there a way to remove this?
Thanks in advance

Has anyone found a way to get site links in the SERPs?
I am wanting to get some site links in the serps to increase the size of my "space", has anyone found a way of getting them?
I know google says that its automatic and only generated if they feel it would benifit browsers but there must be a rule of thumb to follow.
I was thinking down the line of a tight catagorical system that is implimented throughout the site that is clearly related to the content (how it should be I guess)...
Any comments, suggestions welcome
