Hi Lisa,
you can add Google Analytics to track the value of the subdomain as seperate from the main. You would need to create a new property in Google Analytics and then place the snippet into each page of your blog site, making sure to not include the one from URL.com.

You could use a site spider like ScreamingFrog for example to spider each page and search for target="_blank". That would give you a nice list of the links that spawn a new window. You would set up a search term to find on the pages inside the "Custom Tab"
