Thanks for help confirming that I have the right compromise solution Dr. Pete! Yep, I am going to that as well on GWT. Only problem is that it takes those dev's months to put in the html file so I could verify it.

RE: Rel=Canonical on a page with 302 redirection existing
Hi Dr. Pete!
Sorry to confuse everyone but it is actually like this:
{What is happening right now}
(1) www.example.com > 302 redirects to > www.example.com?id=12345
{What I think I could recommend as a solution}
(2) What I intend to do is put rel=canonical on www.example.com as the developers from the client side says it is not technically feasible on their platform to remove the session id on the home page url.

RE: Rel=Canonical on a page with 302 redirection existing
Hi AnkitMaheshwari,
Reason why there's a 302 in the home page URL because the website appends session id's. The best compromise I could think of is to implement a rel=canonical on the home page URL minus the session id i.e. www.website.com

Rel=Canonical on a page with 302 redirection existing
Hi SEOMoz!
Can I have the rel=canonical tag on a URL page that has a 302 redirection? Does this harm the search engine friendliness of a content page / website?
Thanks!

Use of
Hi Everyone,
Encountered this NOHTMLINDEX tag within the section of a website and I am not really sure how it affects the performance of the website and its use. This meta robots tag has been used on numerous pages like the home page, content pages and forum threads. Is it good to keep it there or should it be removed and why?
Thanks in advance!

RE: SEO Audit "Hybrid Site"
Yep already did the single custom crawl already and the crawl diagnostics turned out pretty useful and was able to convince the marcom team they need to clean their site.
I did ask several times already with their IT team but resistance is strongly felt. Their guys are not really that into SEO, probably due to lack of educating from our part, and third party tools are always looked at with extreme suspicion.

RE: SEO Audit "Hybrid Site"
Thanks Rand! I've actually used both screaming frog and xenu to crawl their site but the thing is they've put some security on their website(s) in such a way that those tools cannot run properly because they kept on asking for login access. Good thing running the test through SEOMoz SEO web crawler does not prove to be as problematic when running via those free crawler tools.
Btw, just want to say you guys are doing a great job here. Lots of valuable insights to learn here/from you guys. Hope the next MozCation will be in Philippines / Singapore. Will make sure I'll attend =D
Cheers!

SEO Audit "Hybrid Site"
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to analyze a website which is regional in scope. The way the site for every market has been build out is like this : http://subdomain.rootdomain.com/market | http://asiapacific.thisismybrandname.com/ph
OR
http://subdomain.rootdomain.com/language | http://asiapacific.thisismybrandname.com/en
Since this is the first time I'm trying to work on these kinds of sites, I would want to ask for any guidance / tips on how to do about SEO site and technical audit.
FYI, the owner of the sites is not giving me access / data to their webmaster account nor their analytics tracking tool.
Thanks everyone!

RE: Any SEO effect(s) / impact of Meta No Cache?
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for citing another source. I'm actually doing a site audit for a client and noticed that most, if not all, of their pages have the meta no cache on the script code. To be honest, it is the first time I've come across this and was unsure if it would have any SEO impact.
Thanks again!

Any SEO effect(s) / impact of Meta No Cache?
Hi SEOMoz Guys,
Hope you guys are doing well.
I've been searching online and bumped into this archived page (http://www.seomoz.org/qa/view/34982/meta-nocache-affect-ranking). I would like to get an updated take on this issue whether or not the meta no cache code on a page bears negative/positive or no SEO impact / effect.
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache" />
<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache"/>
Thanks!

RE: Ranking local content against English content
Makes sense.
Is there a way for me to ensure that even for English queries localized content would be the one ranking on local Google domains?

Ranking local content against English content
Hi SEOMoz,
If I have a site that has multiple language selection, how would it be possible for my site with localized content to rank higher than the default/English content?
For example, in Google.co.th, my site with English content (http://www.xyz.com/en-us/) ranks higher than the localized content (http://www.xyz.com/th-th/).
How is it possible for me to turn things around and ensure that for local markets like Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China etc the localized content organically ranks higher than the default-English page?
Thanks!
Steve
