Analysing my site ranking compared to competitors, I see that our weakness is getting others to share our content and link into it via their own blogs and social media - although I would say our social media activity is pretty good.

We have also worked on getting listed free on relevant sites related to our product area (learn spanish in spain) in order to increase sites linking but this is still minute compared to our 2 main competitors. (As a note: paid listings are not totally justifiable for us at this point in time but perhaps in the future we will expand on this).

Am I missing something here?

Those are the keywords we push in our google ppc and blogs but in terms of ranking we are still low - but then I guess this is where we have to put in the leg work and just keep putting relevant, quality content out there.

Our translations across the site are as a subdomain, they are hand-translated

I have a site in English but with duplicates in different languages.

The first problem is that these translated versions of my site receive no ranking on google stars (while the english does) - why is this?

The second problem is that SEOmoz counts the errors on my site and then duplicates this error count for all the translated versions of my site - meaning I have a huge amount of errors (too many on-page links).

Add this to the fact that I use affilite ID´s to track different types of traffic to my site - so all page urls in english and other languages, with an affiliate id on the end of the url, count as an error.

This means I have a huge amount of on page errors indicated by SEOmoz, plus no ranking for my translated pages - I think this is really harming my overall ranking and site trust.

What are your opinions on this?

I think you are right in that there is little traffic despite the keyword being used by all other companies (General Spanish Course) but then that´s what is confusing as it is supposed to be the main search term for people looking for our type of product(s). I am in the process of testing variations on it to see if there is an improvement.

I have been analysing the performance of my keywords through SEOMoz reports for some time now and I am trying to understand why I rank highly in certain keywords but do not receive any organic search visits for them?

My pages are tagged with the keyword(s) and my content including new content through my blog pushes the words.

These keywords are industry standards that I know people search for and are used by other companies and competitors and yet, my site does not receive many, if any, visits despite being ranked in the top 5 or 10.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
