Good organic rankings but no shopping rankings
-
My site www.hair1direct.co.uk comes up well in the organic rankings but when I select shopping in Google it does appear. Why would this be?
Thanks
James

Hey Tom, although everything you're proposing below in regards to SEO is great, and should be done anyway, I don't think that's the reason you're seeing poor (or no) performance in Google Shopping.
Disclaimer, my knowledge of Google Product Search is limited to my experience in the U.S. There may be a whole different set of requirements for the UK.
Over the last few months Google Product Search has been rolling out additional requirements and perhaps their most recent update(s) affected you. I can't say for sure, but I'd make sure you are providing every attribute possible that they request, even the 'suggested' attributes. Additionally, make sure you are not providing more than one record for each Unique Product Identifier. Glancing at your site, I could not find any product SKU / UPC, etc. associated with your products, but that doesn't mean you're not providing it to Google.
See here the the most recent update: Google Products Search Feed Specs/Policy Changes
Hope this helps.

Hi
I've read the Google SEO book and don't see any reference to Google shopping or Merchant centre. What part specifically answers my question?
Thanks
James

Hi. Yes I have setup a Google Merchant Account and I have been submitting data every night using a cron job for the last 6 months or so.
Thanks

Page keywords are words within your page content that occur most frequently. Having too many keywords within a page can be detrimental to your sites SEO whilst not having the right keywords is also not good. Your meta description tag is 100 characters long. Your meta description tag should ideally be a maximum of 154 characters.
Your page should contain a H1 tag which describes the content of the page. Search engines may place a weighting on your indexing based on the content of the H1 tag.

Your page has 0 H1 tags, ideally your page should contain one H1 tag. Use H2, H3 and H4 tags for sub-content.

Rewrite a good post
Hello I have a blog post from 2015 that is ranking very well on Google but I have a terrible bounce rate of more than 98% for this landing page. This post is bringing 4 more visits than the rest of my website pages so I need to make people stay in the site. I don't want to lose my rankings so my question is: Is it better to modify this post or to write a new post and delete the old one? Thank you

Unique shop
Hello I have several websites www.example1c.om and www.example2.com and I would like to create e unique shop page where all the users that want to buy would be redirected, something like shop.example.com. Now, each website has its own catalog section but with this new system, if a user clicks on buy he will be redirected to shop.example.com like this: www.example1c.om/catalog click on BUY and redirected to shop.example.com www.example2c.om/catalog click on BUY and redirected to shop.example.com shop.example.com will be on a different server than the other 2 websites. Is it ok if I do a 301 from 1 server to the other server or I can be penalized? thank you

Ranking overseas
I have a well established website that I market as the busness being based in London, how hard would it be for me to start ranking for phrases in America? (An increasing amount of our work is being carried out in America.) What exactly would it entail? Thanks in advance.

Rankings drop after Panda
Hi All, My site dropped completely out of the SERPS on September 27th. I've tried everything I know to do (re-wrote all content, disavow links tool, filed DCMA complaints, de-optimized on-page content, made anchor text less aggressive, etc). Can you all please take a look at www.doctorloanusa.com and let me know what you think the problem is and how much you'd charge to help? Keywords used to be: doctor loans, physician loans. I ranked 2 or 3 for those keywords consistently for over 4 years. I know I need more content, but I feel like it's a waste of time creating it. If a thin site was the issue, wouldn't I at least rank SOMEWHERE in the 1000 results? Thanks for your consideration. At my wits end.

Local search results appearing above Organic
Hello, I've just performed a search for the query 'outdoor clothing' using Google Incognito mode and I've added the screenshots below to show my findings. The first attempt at the search only showed local results then when I clicked search again adverts were shown. I found this very odd, normally I'd see the local results after the 3rd of 4th organic result.Have Google changed their algorithm or is this just random? http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/8643/incognito1.jpg http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6382/incognito2jf.jpg Thanks, Dan

Hi, Our Blog (http://blog.thailand-investigation.com) is ranking for some of our major keywords but not our home page (http://www.thailand-investigation.com)!? Our blog is WordPress and our main website is HTML. It seems like the search engines consider that they are 2 separate websites!? When I check the incoming links to our website, I get also the blog links!!!??? Is it normal? Do I have to build a relation of some kind or write some code saying that it is our Blog... I don't know! I'm not a SEO specialist or even a webmaster. I'm a small business owner and take care on my website. I created by myself but never learned! So, please help! Thanks

Title elements too long - good for SEO?
As I was reviewing a client's web pages I noticed that most of the pages have titles that exceed the 70 characters limit. By looking in more details it seems that Google uses all keywords from this long titles. I wanted to reduce the titles under 70 characters but realised that I may cut some important keywords. By reducing to 70 characters, do you think I can damage the performance?.
