Just saw this and will send.
Thanks, -
Robert and SamHill, could you please send an email to [email protected] with screenshots / info about the mozbar misbehaving so we can work on finding out what is causing these errors? Thanks so much, and we're really sorry you're seeing these quirks.

Hi,
I ran the Page Speed analysis from Firebug and your site gets a good 74/100. Not too shabby!
But on closer inspection I see that you have around 600k of images loading from within your style sheets.
You could try better optimising the images to reduce filesize. The main culprit is homebg.jpg which is a whopping 250k (maybe not massive, but I'm old school!).
You could also enable some form of server compression like Gzip (though I see your on Windows hosting) to further reduce load times (though it will increase server CPU activity).
Hope that helps

Especially in Chrome, the mozbar will pick up the plugins on most sites. With firefox I don't have the problem. This is not related to the slow site load.

Duncan,
Yslow is working on page for me (using Chrome). I think based on what I am seeing it is a server issue. On my side it took about 16 seconds to load pre cache. On YSlow, you have a grade of 82/B in V2 with the following issues:
F on needing Content Deliv. Network
F on needing to add expires headers
F on entity tags
D on needing to use gzip to compress components.
Interestingly, each time I ran Y Slow, the speed at which it could provide the result changed (last time doubled) again pointing me toward server/host.
Even with issues here, you should not be loading this site, this slowly.Do you have any other sites on this server and if so how are they doing?
EDIT - Also, if you have other sites, are they on same or different IP address?
-
Same for me, plus the mozbar is also faulty and is trying to load 'facebook plugin' data instead of the page I am currently viewing.

Should I add social media icons to homepage of ecommerce site?
... In particular Facebook likes for social proof and credibility? (We have 1.7k likes, more than most competitors). Aimed at the higher end of the market, I've tried to keep the aesthetic a bit more pared down. But, perhaps this needs to be made more prominent?

How to make use of those traffics on non-conversion page?
I am working on a website which sells eBooks softwares, most of posts on the site are teaching people how to solve eBook-reading problems and will lead visitors to download and try the software. But some posts are not related to the software, we just write it for traffic, for example: link-bait post such as top xxx romantic eBooks, free eBooks tools review, etc. These posts have got a pretty considerable traffic, but visitors just come here, read, like/share/comment, then leave. Is there any way I can make use of these pages to convert? Thanks

Is it better to get a new site instead of maintaining a category? I'm stuck.
If you had a website "Food for Dogs" and: Food for German shepherds was improving in search traffic & conversions Snack Food for German shepherds had no change and never resulted in conversions but resulted in many leads for #1 Food for Poodles was unchanged but improving conversions Here's the kicker... Food Container for Dogs was super high traffic but with no conversions or any activity to other categories Would you redirect "food container for dogs" to a different site and delete that tab from the original site completely? It's still related but does not offer any $ value or leads to any of the other categories. Just note that we have a different interest in this category that will support the other categories at one time, but not any time soon. We also have a major group on LinkedIN that's grown to thousands of members for the "food container for dogs" category. On top of it all, the "food container for dogs" has been increasing in rank on Google for several keyphrases to positions 2-5 (nationally) Other important question: Would keeping "food container for dogs" influence the ranking of the other keywords? (by dilution of the site's PR or any other reason?)
