Splitting up pages with more then a 100 links
-
I got a couple of pages with more then a 100 pages / links on them and thus Seomoz gives me warnings for those pages.
For some categories i have over a hundred of pages. I listed all these on 1 sitemap (html) because it is a quick overview for visitors which pages there are. Is it smarter to split them up or is that pollution of the Internet (almost identical pages).
If i did so i would use rel="canonical" link to the first page (the original) but is it wise?

I tend to agree with EGOL - it's a rule of thumb. See my post from last year:
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-many-links-is-too-many
If this was a sitewide issue, like your navigation, and your site had relatively low authority, then it would be worth worrying about. If you're just talking about a couple of pages, and one of them is your HTML sitemap, then I'd probably just ignore it. Some pages naturally require a lot of links. You could split that sitemap up if you think it would have value for users, but from a purely SEO perspective, I don't think it's an issue.

this is true, back in the days when google had limited bandwidth they would follow 100 links or so and then the bot would bail and move on, now google wants to suck up all the info they can.
still, if you have a LOT of pages like this and you're using them to link to product pages for example and there is little benefit to the user to land on a page like this you may want them to be followed but not indexed for rankings or you could suffer the wrath of the google gods for serving up low quality, low content, low user benefit spammy pages.

If this is an important page on the site that has many links into it from pages across your site then I would not worry about exceeding the 100 links.

you could add a "noindex, follow" tag
this way Google will follow it for spider purposes but you're telling Google not to index it because it's not valuable content for the engines and if you have tons of these that are being indexed it could harm you in a panda update

We're looking at providing SEO for a website that has the majority of its incoming links from websites created solely to provide links. Few have bad spam rankings. How worried should I be about those links?
The majority of incoming links to a prospect's website are from website pages apparently created solely to provide links to the website. Few have high spam scores. The sites linking to the main site have versions of blogs with linked text. They seem to be providing positive SEO value now, but I'm concerned they might get noticed and hurt the main site in the future.

Disavow links from legit sites but have spammy link profiles?
I'm currently doing a backlink audit for our site with a LOT of backlinks. Some of the linking sites are legitimate business websites in our industry who have linked to us for a totally legitimate reason (we have good content!). However, these businesses themselves have a spammy backlink profile—that is, the only sites linking to that site are obvious link farm sites. Here is an illustration: spammyseolinks.com; payforseo.xyz; blackhat.ru ==all link to==> legitbusiness.com ==links to==> mysite.com Should I disavow this backlink? I guess it's not really giving me much SEO worth since it surely been branded a spammy junk domain, but then again, it's a real website that we've earned a link from because we're doing stuff the right way. Is it hurting or helping me?

Submitting pages to google to expidite them finding links to my site
Is it a good practice to submit a page linking to my site to expedite google finding the link or is it better to wait for the google spider to find it? Thanks, Ron!

AllTop Linking Me to Other Sites Feeds, Webmasters Reporting Lots of Broken Links
I submitted my blog to All Top awhile ago and something seems to be wrong with their feed. They're sending people to mysite.com/truth-o-meter.com/this-is-a-post. It's not just truth-o-meter either. I'm getting links that are supposed to go to all kinds of political blogs. As a result, I'm getting a ton of broken links reported on Google Webmasters. I couldn't find any real support option on alltop.com, and when I log in, there are no sites for me to manage. Instead, I resubmitted the site with the correct feed address and in the comments, I mentioned the problem. All I got was a message saying the site was rejected. I believe because I already added the site. But I'm thinking they didn't pay attention to the comments. (In fact the message may have gone through an auto-filter considering how quickly it was rejected.) Is there a way to solve this? Is this a situation in which I would use the disavow tool? If All Top continues to create bad links, how do I stop the issue once and for all? Thanks!

Is there a software to help me check whether the sites that i give link to, also place my link on their site (reciprocal link)?
When i exchange links with others, i usually put their link on my site hoping that they'll do the same. Since it's impossible to check all sites whose link i have placed on my page to see if they have put a link back to me, i was wondering whether there is a kind of software to help me do that!

Will a mega menu on all pages dilute the link juice?
On our web site (http://www.betxpert.com) we have a mega menu with quite a lot of links in it. I am getting warnings in SEOmoz saying we have far to many links in our pages. But a lot of pages have large menus with a lot of links - are all pages punished for this then? My primary question is: Since the menu is on all pages, the pages linked in the menu will have a link in from all of our pages (200K+ pages) and a lot of these do not have a good ranking. So what I want to know is if the pages linked in the menu will have lower ranking because of the many links in - or is this a good thing? Should I consider setting "nofollow" for som of the links on other pages than the homepage (since this is the page with the best rank)?

Contest Page Generating Links
My company is in the middle of a big contest that is generating thousands of backlinks pointing to the contest page on our domain. How do you suggest best using this authority we're building up with these backlinks to spread it to the pages we'd like to rank for, especially after the contest is over and we take down the page?

Will No Follow Links count toward your root domain links for Domain Authority?
I am wondering if no follow links help, hurt, or do nothing when it comes to increasing page and domain authority? I know they are not supposed to pass rank and I have read discussions that some people suspect they still might, but I am wondering if I have a mix of follow plus no follow, will the no follow ones increase the count of the root domains linking to me and help boost my authority? Assuming of course the no follow links are coming from quality sites with high page and domain authority of their own. Thanks.
