Can I pass keyword match type through the Adwords dest URL?
-
Hi guys,
I'm currently using duplicates of the same keyword with different match types, and I'd like to pass the keyword match type through the query, the same way I can pass the keyword and creative.
ie. http://my.site.com/?kw={keyword}&kwmt={matchtype}&aid={creative}
As far as I can tell, Google allows you to pass the keyword, creative (ad id), network and a mobile flag.
Microsoft allows you to pass the match type and and ad id, and I want to be able to do the same in my Adwords.
Is this is possible, or is the only way to create different ad groups for each match type and pass a custom query?
Cheers, Jez

Awesome, thanks David, exactly what I was looking for.

Hey David, Thanks for answering - I should have specified in my question that I'm using SiteCatalyst to performance manage my paid search, as the site I'm working on is heavily sampled by Adwords due to massive traffic. As such, I'm looking for a way to pass campaign elements, such as match type, via the query that I can then pick up on the landing page. Possible? Cheers, Jez

If you are using google analtics you can connect it to your adwords and see that data.

Google Adwords Clicks not registering properly???
Hello Moz World, I am running a Google Adwords campaign utilizing Google Search and Search Partners only. These are traditional text ads. When I look at the analytics through Google Adwords, I am seeing 60 clicks. Great! However, when I look through the keywords in the ad groups, none of my keywords are registering clicks. I also checked search terms under the keyword tab, and no keywords are populating. Where are my ads being clicked, and how can I view information on these clicks. This is a relatively new campaign, and I am still trying to figure out if I am targeting the right keywords. Thanks ahead of time for all the great responses! B/R Will H.

Adwords View Through Question
Hi Mozzers! I've got an Adwords Remarketing account performing well in terms of View Through Conversions but not regular 'old Conversions. We are getting about 10x more View Throughs than regular Conversions. Is this close to typical or in the expected range? Any suggestions about how to trade these around, working towards getting more regular conversions and less view through conversions?

Adwords keyword vs exact match kw
Hi guys, I have been using an excellent script that showed me the keywords I was bidding on and the keywords they were matched on by Adwords. I was using the following script: http://www.getelastic.com/exact-keywords-google-analytics/ But I'm under the impression Google changed the way these data can be matched. I now have multiple questions: Does anyone have another script that gives me the same results? Has anyone seen an announcement on why Google has changed this? Might this js solution still be working? http://www.roirevolution.com/blog/2008/02/exact_keyword_tracking_with_gajs.php Cheers and thanks for all the suggestions! Arnout

Competitors using bots for AdWords ?
I was having a discussion with a SEO manager on a LinkedIn group about page speed (she pretends that page speed is not taken into account by Google for SERPs at all and claims that all of what Matt Cutts says is BS) ; and she explained that she is using bots to click on her client's competitors AdWords and "kill their daily budget" So my question is, if you run/manage AdWords campaigns, have you ever met noticed such a behaviour, past the few usual click fraud rate ? What is your average fraud rate ?

Could longtail keywords really produce up to 80% more organic traffic long-term?
I was listening to a podcast on site visibility's website and they were discussing www.hittail.com which is a piece of software which analyzes lists your

visitor stream in real-time and provides actionable list of precisely which
keywords the website should be targeting to dramatically grow your organic
search traffic using long tail key words. The say they can come up with a list of long tail keywords which the
website could easily rank for hopefully straightaway in the top five positions
on Google and other search engines by creating a blog post are some relevant
content. Or you could use the information to form some anchor text links etc They say it's possible to produce up to 80% more traffic organically
once you are aware of which keywords are being overlooked by the website and
then produce the relevant content. The theory is that most people focus on the high traffic short tail
keywords and overlook the long tail keywords and I got to admit I actually fall
into that category unfortunately. Anybody uses particular website? And what is your experience of targeting the
longtail keywords have they produce good results ?0 -
