Indexed Pages in Google, How do I find Out?
-
Is there a way to get a list of pages that google has indexed?
Is there some software that can do this?
I do not have access to webmaster tools, so hoping there is another way to do this.
Would be great if I could also see if the indexed page is a 404 or other
Thanks for your help, sorry if its basic question
-
If you want to find all your indexed pages in Google just type: site:yourdomain.com or .co.uk or other without the www.

Hi John,
Hope I'm not too late to the party! When checking URL's for their cache status I suggest using Scrapebox (with proxies).
Be warned, it was created as a black-hat tool, and as such is frowned upon, but there are a number of excellent white-hat uses for it! Costs $57 one off

sorry to keep sending you messages but I wanted to make sure that you know SEOmoz does have a fantastic tool for what you are requesting. Please look at this link and then click on the bottom where it should says show more and I believe you will agree it does everything you've asked and more.

Sincerely,
Thomas
does this answer your question?

What giving you a 100 limit?
try using Raven tools or spider mate they both have excellent free trials and allow you quite a bit of information.

Neil you are correct I agree with screaming frog is excellent they definitely will show you your site. Here is a link from SEOmoz associate that I believe will benefit you

this is what I am looking for Thanks
Strange that there is no tool I can buy to do this in full without the 100 limit
Anyway, i will give that a go

can I get your sites URL? By the way this might be a better way into Google Webmaster tools
if you have a Gmail account use that if you don't just sign up using your regular e-mail.
Of course using SEOmoz via http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test will give you a full rundown of all of your links and how they're running. Are you not seen all of them?
Another tool I have found very useful. Is website analysis as well as their midsize product from Alexia
I hope I have helped,
Tom

If you don't have access to Webmaster Tools, the most basic way to see which pages Google has indexed is obviously to do a site: search on Google itself - like "site:google.com" - to return pages of SERPs containing the pages from your site which Google has indexed.
Problem is, how do you get the data from those SERPs in a useful format to run through Screaming Frog or similar?
Enter Chris Le's Google Scraper for Google Docs
It will let scrape the first 100 results, then let you offset your search by 100 and get the next 100, etc.. slightly cumbersome, but it will achieve what you want to do.
Then you can crawl the URLs using Screaming Frog or another crawler.

just thought I might add these links these might help explain it better than I did.

you should definitely sign up for Google Webmaster tools it is free here is a link all you need to do is add an e-mail address and password

Thanks for the reply.
I do not have access to webmaster tools and the seomoz tools do not show a great deal of the pages on my site for some reason
Majestic shows up to 100 pages. Ahrefs shows some also.
I need to compare what google has indexed and the status of the page
Does screaming frog do thiss?

Google Webmaster tools should supply you with this information. In addition Seomoz tools will tell you that and more. Run your website through the campaign section of seomoz you will then see any issues with your website.
You may also want to of course use Google Webmaster tools run a test as a Google bot the Google but should show you any issues you are having such is 404's or other fun things that websites do.
If you're running WordPress there are plenty of plug-ins I recommend 404 returned
sincerely,
Thomas

Google suddenly indexing 1,000 fewer pages. Why?
We have a site, blog.example.org, and another site, www.example.org. The most visited pages on www.example.org were redesigned; the redesign landed May 8. I would expect this change to have some effect on organic rank and conversions. But what I see is surprising; I can't believe it's related, but I mention this just in case. Between April 30 and May 7, Google stopped indexing roughly 1,000 pages on www.example.org, and roughly 3,000 pages on blog.example.org. In both cases the number of pages that fell out of the index represents appx. 15% of the overall number of pages. What would cause Google to suddenly stop indexing thousands of pages on two different subdomains? I'm just looking for ideas to dig into; no suggestion would be too basic. FWIW, the site is localized into dozens of languages.

Why Is Google Indexing These Product Pages On Shopify?
How can we communicate to Google the exact product pages we'd like indexed on our site? We're an apparel company that uses Shopify as our ecommerce platform. Website is sportiqe.com. Currently, Google is indexing all types of different pages on our site. **Example of a product page we want indexed: ** Product Page: sportiqe.com/products/PRODUCT-TITLE (Like This) **Examples of product pages being indexed: ** sportiqe.myshopify.com/products/PRODUCT-TITLE sportiqe.com/collections/COLLECTION-NAME/products/PRODUCT-TITLE See attached for an example of how two different "Boston Celtics Grateful Dead" shirts are being indexed. Any suggestions? We've used both Shopify and Google Webmaster tools to set our preferred domain (sportiqe.com). We've also added this snippet of code to our site three months ago thinking that would do the trick... {% if template == 'product' %}{% if collection %} {% endif %}{% endif %} sKwNZOl

My indexed pages count is shrinking in webmaster tools. Is this normal ?
I noticed that our total # of indexed pages dropped recently by a substantial amount (see chart below) Is this normal? http://imgur.com/4GWzkph Also, 3 weeks after this started dropping, we got a message on increased # of crawl errors and found that a site update was causing 300+ new 404s. could this be related ?

Why are new pages not being indexed, and old pages (now in robots.txt) remain in the index?
I currently have a site that was recently restructured, causing much of its content to be reposted, creating new URL's for each page. To avoid duplicates, all of the existing pages were added to the robots file. That said, it has now been over a week - I know Google has recrawled the site - and when I search for term X, it is stil the old page that is ranking, with the new one nowhere to be seen. I'm assuming it's a cached version, but why are so many of the old pages still appearing in the index? Furthermore, all "tags" pages (it's a Q&A site, like this one) were also added to the robots a few months ago, yet I think they are all still appearing in the index. Anyone got any ideas about why this is happening, and how I can get my new pages indexed?

Ranking with other pages not index
The site ranks on page 4-5 with other page like privacy, about us, term pages. I encounter this problem allot in the last weeks; this usually occurs after the page sits 1-2 months on page 1 for the terms. I'm thinking of to much use the same anchor as a primary issue. The sites in questions are 1-5 pages microniche sites. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thank You

Will Google Visit Non-Canonicalized Page Again and Return Its Page's Original Ranking?
I have 2 questions about canonicalization. 1. Will Google ever visit Page A again if after it has been canonicalized to Page B? 2. If Google will still visit Page A and found that it is not canonicalizing to Page B already, will the original rankings and traffic of Page A returned to the way before it's canonicalized? Thanks.

Google swapped our website's long standing ranking home page for a less authoritative product page?
Our website has ranked for two variations of a keyword, one singular & the other plural in Google at #1 & #2 (for over a year). Keep in mind both links in serps were pointed to our home page. This year we targeted both variations of the keyword in PPC to a products landing page(still relevant to the keywords) within our website. After about 6 weeks, Google swapped out the long standing ranked home page links (p.a. 55) rank #1,2 with the ppc directed product page links (p.a. 01) and dropped us to #2 & #8 respectively in search results for the singular and plural version of the keyword. Would you consider this swapping of pages temporary, if the volume of traffic slowed on our product page?
