Video Keno gambling SEO client !? Do I want em?
-
I have a guy who wants SEO help.
Actually he owns several companies and is willing to put my ad before all the movies in a local theater plus an ad AND a Q&A section about SEO and Internet marketing in a small newspaper he mails to 7k businesses every month in exchange for my help.
While I am excited about the exposure and I'm sure it would result in some business I'm not excited about touching anything related to gambling at ALL.
Am I right in thinking this or should I treat it like just another client?
He has a site where he teaches people how to win at video keno and sells this info packet.
Porn and gambling. Everything I have read and heard is geared towards sites like this NOT coming up in search engines.
Thoughts?
Thanks and have an AWESOME week!
Matthew

That's my 2 cents though, only work with clients you wouldn't be ashamed to tell others about. - excellent advice.
I'm not ashamed of what he is doing and would happy to show off his results.
Thanks!

It's an interesting dilemma. I think that the gambling industry has a much less negative connotation than the porn industry does. After all they show poker on ESPN. I think that SEO for the space can be done well. Because he is selling information about gambling & not neccessarily promoting a site to go and lose all your money, I would treat him just like every other client & take advantage of the exposure. That's my 2 cents though, only work with clients you wouldn't be ashamed to tell others about.
Thanks,
Chris

Can Very High Impressions and 0% Organic CTR Impact our SEO Rankings?
I have a very strange feeling that someone bad is trying to hurt our company, but maybe I am wrong. Let me explain. In the last two month, we have seen a very significant drop in sales on our website, but we couldn't figure out why. We have looked at different metrics (Google Search Console, Moz, Google Analytics), but everything looked alright. We had 10% loss in traffic, but we didnt believe at the time that it could be the main issue. Just yesterday we've discovered the following (please see attached screenshot😞 On August 18, 2018 Google launched Search Update On the same date, we had a jump in Organic Search Impressions for one particular keyword, which we never tracked before: "free facebook login". Majority of all impressions (233,000 out of 258,000) were from Philippines. Very low total number of clicks (50 clicks) led to 0% Average CTR for this keyword. Which in return, also lowered our global CTR by 1%. One month later we had 1000's of spam emails sent to our Helpdesk from two IP addresses, also from Philippines. We blocked them of course. It could be all coincidence. I dont know. But do you think that someone can use this fraudulent tactic to lower our CTR and drop our ranking and traffic? Can this influence our SEO in any way? It's also possible that someone is attacking Facebook and we just happen to be there, on the first page, for the same keyword. Should we try to eliminate our page for this keyword and see what happens? I've checked this article from Rand Fishkin - https://mza.bundledseo.com/blog/impact-of-queries-and-clicks-on-googles-rankings-whiteboard-friday and it seems that CTR is an important factor. However the article is from 2015 and maybe it's no longer relevant. What should we do? Thanks! G86Nge4

SEO and Conversions from a C-Level perspective
Hi guys! Do you have any suggestion about articles about how to work with conversions and SEO from a C-level perspective? I know it is very open question, but there might be articles like (https://mza.bundledseo.com/ugc/how-can-pr-seo-and-ceo-people-work-together-for-link-building) that are great and written on this subject. Could you please share if you have any examples? I'm thinking for these perspectives: What knowledge and insight does a management team need to take control and drive the SEO and CRO related work (from a executive level)? How do the management team connect business strategy and goals with the SEO and CRO area? Have a great day!

Producing videos
Hi all, Does anyone know about creating videos, specifically animated (I think it is animation) videos for products. Here is an example of what I am talking about http://www.allenwatson.com/guided-auger-boring.html What would be the best way of getting a video like this made and how hard is it to make these sort of videos without a professional? Any adobe programs that would do this work? I am thinking along the lines of helping customers convert on our site. Cheers

Video Conversions
1)I have observed that female voice converts more then male voice in videos. Any one had experienced this stat? 2)Videos without person reading the slides, what's your take on this? As far as my experiences I have made some videos with music background only, but it seems like that videos with person's voice convert more. Is there any video regarding video conversions and video backlinks.

Good platform for SEO and CRO
From Seomoz thread it looks like many mozzers favor WordPress when it comes to choosing a platform that is optimal for SEO. While I agree I would like to ask your opinion on platforms for CRO.

Which platform do you think works best for SEO practices and CRO posibilites? It would be great if employees that don't have expert knowledge in PHP and HTML would be able to move contact forms around, places different banners next to the blog post depending on what content they post etc. In this case the meaning is that the website will be built by a professional and used by all different kind of employees with various web design / coding skills. Have a great day everyone!0 -
