Google Places Question

When you are optimizing Google places campaigns what do you find to be a better way to appear for more searches?
No, all customers come to the business location
or
Yes, this business serves customers at their locations
(45 mile radius)
**? **

Hi Kynduvme, Definitely follow the link Bede Fahey has provided. This was a major policy change that I would recommend you take note of and comply with in signaling to Google the correct business model. By being accurate in your settings, you will hopefully avoid future penalties of your listing.

I agree with imageworks...
Your service area settings on your places page should reflect how the business actually interacts with customers. Prior to something like 18 months ago, hiding your location seemed to negatively impact listings. These days, my experience is that there is little, if any, penalty to doing this.
That said, even if there is a slight penalty to hiding the location, I'd do it anyway. As recently as February and March of 2012, Google seemed to be enforcing this particular guideline by actually calling some businesses and asking. A minor penalty is better than having your listing vanish along with all traffic.
Miriam Ellis wrote a post about this in March: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/why-you-may-need-to-hide-your-google-places-address-asap
Hope this helps!

Would you recommend Yext or Whitespark for UK customers I have never heard of them, personally.
-
As far as I'm aware it doesn't make any difference when it comes to appearing more frequently for local based searches - we've picked one or the other with dozens of clients and seen no noticeable difference.
Just pick whichever one is most applicable to the business you're creating the page for.
-
I have never heard of Yext. I will see what that is.
-
just do whatever it is the business does. Then use Yext or Whitespark & localeze to get your citation game tight. Go to yext right now and use there free citation grader tool. You will not regret it!

Google detects wrong information to compnay's knowledge graph on search index - Please help
This issue is about website properties' information showing on Google's search index with brand keywords. We have 8 different domains that operated separately in 8 countries. All are responsible for their individual domain. When I Google it with our brand name 'Flight Centre' in Google.ca, Google's search index shows company website link with flightcentre.com and detects all information, social profile etc.. from Flight centre Australia. Please see the screenshot. How to change this information that Google shows or detects website link and all other properties from flightcentre.ca? Anybody about with a quick answer would be awesome? Doing two Google Local Listings for the Same Business
So I have a question. I'm working on an auto dealer's website and we're trying to gear their service center toward the general public (rather than just one brand - IE Honda, GMC, Buick). We have created a subdomain for the service page, and I was wondering if we could create a unique Google Plus page for it, in an effort to help its rank. Since the auto service center is on site at the dealership, I did not know if this would hurt us. Does anyone have experience dealing with this issue? Thank you!

Best Practices for Google+
I have a client that has a decent following on Google+ on his personal account but his business profile doesn't have many people going to it. The law firm he owns has roughly 14 attorneys and all of them write for their blog. Since they are all new to Google+ except for him, I'm wondering what everyone things that the best practice is to get the information shared. When we post the information on his personal personal profile, he generally gets between 50 - 75 +1s and a dozen or so shares. If we put it on the business profile we don't get more than 10. The issue is when one of the attorney's that is new to G+ posts on their timeline and then we share it via the business, we then have to share it via the owners timeline to get any traction. We need to build followers for each of the attorneys new to G+, that's obvious, but what do we do in the mean time? Since the owner is also the brand, what is your suggestion of the best strategy?

Google + Circles
This question is so elementary, I'm almost embarrassed to ask it. I am having trouble directing potential followers/friends to Circle us on our Google+ business page. People add to my personal profile page instead, the result of which, i am not building up Circles for my business while I am building my personal profile which i don't care about. I have made personal requests, used our logo on my personal page header saying "Gina Fiedel representing (business name)" and "Visit our Google+ business page", etc. I feel like I'm missing something. Has anyone found any sort of magic bullet for this? Thanks!!

Trying to de-mystify Google Places, Google Local & Google Plus
There is a lot of online 'noise' regarding the changes / merging and making the best out of Googles' Places / Local & Google Plus. Any tips, ideas, experiences or just plain revelations regarding all or any of the above services and how they will work & come together in the future?

Change Primary Image on Google+Local
My old logo did not fit well in the new Google+Local page and so I resized it and uploaded it a couple weeks ago using the Google Places admin tool. I have tried it on multiple locations but it does not show up on the actual Google+ page. The images do show up in the admin tool (so it wasn't that the logo didn't upload properly). I changed the description text to see if any changes were going through and those appeared after about 24 hours. Anyone been able to successfully upload new images to Google+Local?

What is the impact of the new google+ share button on SERP
Hello mozzers, I'm currently wondering what will be the impact of the new social signal ( Google+ Share ) on SERP an organic traffic. As we all know by now , Facebook share have an higher social signal authority then the Facebook like on SERP @Randfish posted some great info at: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/facebook-twitters-influence-google-search-rankings Since Google rolled out the new Google+ Share social signa at : https://developers.google.com/+/plugins/share/?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=gplusdevelopers&utm_campaign=shareplugin I was wondering if somebody had the chance to do some clear testing on the SERP impact of this new social signal even if its a fresh addition to the social signals.
