SEOLutions - Paint it White... Has any one used?
-
Has anyone used the tiered link building service offered by seolutions (http://seolutions.biz/store/seo-solutions/premium-solutions-paint-it-white.html)?
If so, can you provide any insight into how effective it was in the long and short term?
Thanks!

That's a very good point.

Clearly methods on blackhatworld work, ( or it would not exists), but the questions what type of site does it work for. Some one with multiple disposable domains with affiliate links as the earner that if they lost one of them, it would be annoying but would not be the end of the world, they just start again. Or it it a long term investment brand (e-commerce store? ) if de-listed by google would be the end of the world.
It depends on your position. But I don't think you should do both black and white hat, because once you get hit by google badger update, all that white hat will be wasted, (or you spend a very long time undoing the black hat work, and even then you don't know if its worth it as it might have been only the black hat stuff that was making you rank)
-
I guess it depends on how comfortable you are with the risk+cost vs. reward for both the short and long term. As long as you're making an informed choice.
(Anyone else suffering from "respond" link blindness?)
-
It's always tricky looking for trust indicators in the murky side of SEO I think, however there seem to be plenty of "happy & genuine" punters on blackhatworld, with examples, etc.
To be honest I wouldn't want to put a link or a testimonial on a black hat link building site!
Yes, these links are clearly going to be piles of dog poo - but if it's working for a load of people, then why not!?
-
Look for the trust indicators! Do they, (or can they) provide verifiable examples of clients that they've helped in the past... and where are they now? Why don't their testimonials link to their clients sites or mention their business names? How open/transparent are they about their process...
"manually creating web2.0 properties" to point "highly contextual links directly to your site" sounds a bit like "build our own link network and link to you with exact match anchor text" to me and we know how much Google would just love that.
Would you show these links to your customers/friends/family?
-
Also, listening to the kind of results that people have achieved on Blackhatworld using methods likes this makes me very keen to give it a run.
I guess if it's shite, at least I'll know for future reference.
-
Could be the badger update, after all they're currently being culled the sh*t out of and that's what google likes to do to sites.
I like your analogy "crap ---> shite ---> balls ---> yourwebsite = win!!" ... haha
Yes, I would rather do that as well. But that's slower and I want it ALL.. .NOW! and fantastic content isn't always as fast as I'd like, especially on a site that's in the google trough at the moment.
-
yeah it a more complex system, but I have seen it been used before and seen other offer this type of think before and at some stage it did work, and maybe it still does to a degree.
It basicly their plan is: crap ---> shite ---> balls ---> yourwebsite = win!!
but more importantly its the type of thing google does not want you to do and its some thing that could be spotted and so they will target it in the future (badger update?), so long term its not is a good strategy IMO.
I would rather but the $169 toward getting some real "beautiful" blog post/ info-graphs etc, because you don't have to worry about those links biting you in the ass in a few years.
-
True...
One reason I like the tiered links idea is that if it goes wrong, then you can cut the ties on those 10 links or so links relatively easy. You may do a bit of damage, but I've heard some good feedback from this kind of scheme - obviously I wouldn't do it on a client's site, but I am tempted to "give it a whirl" on some of my domains which could do with a bit of a lift.
-
ha, yeah, I doubt the content is anything near "beautiful", although I have to admire their marketing for actually using that word, especially for what will be undoubtedly spun articles.
It's more the tiered aspect I'm interested in. If I knew their tiered structures and methods were good (obviously in black hat terms) and got results, then it's worth it.
-
I've been tempted by such services in the past, but if everyone was able to spend $xxxx and get a great page rank then everybody will be sitting pretty with a high PR.
But I know that sometimes it can be a bit of a temptation to pay some money to "see how it goes" but before you know it your website is on a link farm somewhere and ultimately you lose domain authority and such and it really isn't worth it!
Just my opinion
-
"creating beautiful web 2.0 posts with well-written unique content on premium web 2.0 hosts"
so submitting blog articles to crappy 2.0 blog networks? This is the type of stuff google is targeting, I would stay away.
$169 for 10 good articles, on 10 actually good blogs you would want a backlink from is too good to be true....
I don't know the company, but that my (cynical) opinion
-
Tom,
I appreciate your views. Admittedly their advertising seems aimed at people who are unsure of how SEO works or who have a limited understanding, however tiered link building can work in the right place.
I was curious as to whether their tiered service was actually any good or not.
Thanks

Hi Alex,
Just as an outsider looking in and haven't used this website before (or any like it to be honest), I would say that anything that offers services for "link juice" and is only promising you page rank (although there site is only a mediocre PR 2), I'd personally say spend your money on maybe getting a bit of SEO consultation.
Or failing that, you're on a website filled with fantastic SEO advice and resources, you just have to check out the previous Moz seminars to get started.
What you need to remember is that a good ranking website isn't based solely on Page Rank. Page rank is just one factor of hundreds that search engines take into consideration.
I personally wouldn't spend that sort of money on a service that says it will give me a better page rank. It's not all about the PR!
Tom

Our webpage has been embedded in others website using iframe. Does this hurts us in rankings?
Hi all, One of our partners have embedded our webpage in their website using iframe such a way that anybody can browse to any page of our website from their website. It's said that content in iframes will not get indexed. But when I Google for h1 tag of our embedded webpage, I can see their website in SERP but not ours which is original. How it's been indexed? Is this hurting us in rankings? Thanks

1st Ecommerce site got penalized, can we start a 2nd one?
Hello, A client's first site got penalized by Goolge Penguin. It has recovered through cleaning up backlinks, but not to where it was before. It is 2nd and 3rd for several money keywords, but is far less successful than before penalization. We are starting a second site. Here's the important steps to mention The new site shows up first for it's domain name, and it has 30 pages indexed. It shows up NOWHERE for our leading search term. Out other site has a blog post that is 3rd for that search term. We are using new categories and new organization. We are using a different cart solution We are adding all unique content The home pages and some of the product pages are very thorough. We are adding comprehensive products like nothing else in the industry (10X) We plan on adding a very comprehensive blog, but haven't started yet. We've added the top 100 products so far. Our other store has 500. There's a lot of spam in the industry, so sites are slow to rank. Our category descriptions are 500 words Again, all unique content. No major errors in Moz Campaign tools Just a few categories so far, we're going to add many more. Same Google Analytics account as our other site It looks like we should eventually be on page 3 for our major search term. Again, we're nowhere for anything right now. ... Have you seen that Google will not rank a second site because it's from the same company and Google Analytics account, or does Google let you rank 2 sites in the same industry? We are hoping it's just slow to rank. If you can rank 2 sites, what are your best recommendations to help show up? Thanks.

How to make second site in same niche and do white hat SEO
Hello, As much as we would like, there's a possibility that our site will never recover from it's Google penalties. Our team has decided to launch a new site in the same niche. What do we need to do so that Google will not mind us having 2 sites in the same niche? (Menu differences, coding differences, content differences, etc.) We won't have duplicate content, but it's hard to make the sites not similar. Thanks

Whether to use new domain or old ecommerce site domain that has been incomplete for a long time.
Hello, We are starting a second store in our niche. Which of the following should I choose: A. We have a site from a year and a half ago that we put content on but never actually added products. The category and article content needs to be completely rewritten. We will completely rewrite the content to be much better and up to date. We're planning on adding products and rewriting the manufacturer descriptions. B. We could use a new domain that is closer to exact match for our main keyword. We'd just buy one for $15 I don't know whether A or B would be the fastest way to get the site going. I'm concerned that leaving a site half done for a year could cause an issue, but I really don't know. If you've got experience with this, please advise. Thank you.

Using competitor brand names. How far is too far?
We are a small company competing for traffic in an industry with more or less one other very large brand. I'm noticing we are getting a descent amount of organic traffic for the competitor's brand name however I haven't done any on-page inclusion or link building for the term. We are using their brand as a keyword in our paid campaigns and seeing potential. I firmly believe we have a superior product. I'm tempted to start going after our competitor's brand as a keyword to skim some of their traffic. My question is how far it too far? Do I actively try to obtain a few anchor text specific backlinks? Dare I use their brand name as a term on our page? Maybe just a simple blog post comparing our two products is more appropriate? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Can you use the image description for IMG ALT?
ello ello! We're running an ecommerce site with thousands of products. None of the product pages have an IMG ALT. We're been thinking about an IMG ALT rule to apply to all product page images. Every image currently has a detailed caption so the thought was, why don't we use the description as the IMG ALT? It's perfect as it explains the image. Now the thing is, the length of the description, some of them come to 150 - 200 characters with spaces. Do you think this is too much? Also, would having a caption and the IMG ALT be the same cause issues? Have you guys employed any rules for IMG ALT in a bulk way?

Need some advise on using a micro site
I thought I would use a micro site with just some main product landing pages being used. I would use the same design and code as main site, then re-write the text and then link everything to the new site. “BUT” I'm concerned about getting a penalty (duplicate) as all the anchor text links going to the main site would be identical! EG. To use the same design as the main site I would need to use the same layout etc including navbars, anchor text links in the footer etc.. and I'm worried this may trigger a duplicate content penalty ? Any advise please

Multiple domains pointed at one site
I know things are changing and the things Google thinks are cheating searchers from finding what they are really looking for are changing too. So, I have multiple domain names that are related to my site, but not the actual site name. For instance, I have a certification program called Certified NetAnalyst that has a few domains for it... .com, .org and other derivatives like NetAnalyst. I would like to point the domains to my main company web site and not create a site just for the certification. Does Google think it is cheating to point domain names with my company branding names to my main web site? What about domain name forwarding to a specific URL, like taking the certification name domains and pointing them to the certification page instead of the main site? Wondering if one could no follow (don't know how to do that) the domain forwarding links so it is not duplicate content? Is that possible in some way? Could you put another robots.txt file with excludes in the domain forwarding url landing page so it would not be duplicate content? For the future I want all SEO "juice" to go to the main domain, but the keyword value of the domain names is valuable. I sure would be grateful if someone that has a good understanding and specific recent experience with Google policy and enforcement could offer some sage and practical advice and perhaps a case study example where Google "likes it" or on the other hand a good explanation of why I may not wish to do this! Thank You! Bill Alderson www.apalytics.com
