High Bounce Rate on this Specific Page
-
Just a quick question...looking more for opinions and suggestions....
The specific page in question is:
http://erasedisease.com/2012/04/09/all-natural-alternative-to-beta-blockers-arginine/
We get great traffic to this page specifically for these search terms (and more):
- natural beta blockers
- natural alternatives to beta blockers
- natural beta blocker supplements
The bounce rate on this specific page is usually between 75% to 82%. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be (besides the obvious colors/theme of the website)?
Thanks!!

Yes, I meant the left. Sorry about that.
-
i think he means move ur nave to the right. its debatable but true.
-
Do you mean the left sidebar?
-
William and Shift already left great responses, but i want to add that the average human being looks from the top left to the bottom right, in saying that you might want to take a look at your design. Naturally our eyes want to follow the blue and ignore the the right sidebar while your call to action is.
-
These are great responses. Thank you for taking the time to check out the site, and I completely agree with your suggestions.

well you hit it on the head for me with the colors/ theme but the reality is you probably have a high bounce rate because:
1. Your colors scheme makes me not want to read anything on the page
2. On that specific page, your call to actions are hidden. You actually have 3: should I read your blog, buy now, or join your news letter (all are above the fold). If this is a landing page, make sure what you want the user to do is clearly defined.
You have so much going on and your color scheme is like camo. My first impression when I get to the page is "what am I supposed to do?". To give you and idea of what I mean here is why I would bounce.
When i first open the page my eyes land on your slide header. Ok I see a few testimonials all with pictures of fake people. What do I think.... Fake testimonials. Then I look up to $39.95 (at the top not the side) and leave. Why do I look up at the $39.95? Even though it is small you put it in red (an action color) When I look in that area, regardless of how small it is it stands out especially since my eyes first landed on the slide header.
If I were you I would:
1. do some research on colors and how the impact purchasing decisions.
2. use your slide header for the call to action or use it direct people to the call to action
3. dont use testimonials with fake pictures. either get pictures of the people giving you these great comments or put them discretely on the side or. I would try getting the real pictures if they are real testimonials.
4. make the page less busy. if it is an internal page that users navigate to then sure it may be ok, but for a landing page, i would make it as clear and concise as to what you want the user to do.
Hope this helps good luck.

That is great that you are already getting great traffic from those search terms.
My suggestion which might not be a option for you is to chance the design a bit. The site looks a bit cluttered to view exactly what is clickable.
I scrolled to the button of your article and it does show additional/related information which should help decrease bounce rates.
An easy accessible and viewable page can always help conversion and helps keeping eyes on the page/site.
Another thing you can do is check other keywords that are having less bounce rates and maybe see how those keywords correlate with your higher bounce rates. I am no expert in your niche so you will have to identify why and which keywords are having low or high bounce rates.

About Page - optimization keywords ideas
I am interested to know your thoughts on which keywords to target for your about page. While most keyword strategies are about creating or optimizing pages on categories. This is great for product/service page ideas, but I never know what my about page should come up for. Should it just be your name or can you utilize this page to capture some categories or keywords that are difficult to rank for; I.e We rank well for "web design [location]" not so well for "[location] web design" Regards Rod

I work on a uk decorating website with five of our own bloggers all of which reside on the home page of the website on their own separete blogging urls as sub domains - is this a good idea or would google not like this from an seo point of view?
Should blogs that are part of an overall content site be on separate sites and link in or is it ok to promote them as content on the home page of the site and take users off to their own url to view the site. Is this good practise for seo?

For example this website is about "cars" so I wrote a pages about: Green classy cars
Green cars for the summer
Green car show 2013 What happens is that on the query of "Green car show". The page green classy cars shows up. I have the feeling that google takes one page about a similair subject and only put on in the serps. I checked this on multiply pages and this seems the case. If I search on exact "Green car show 2013" + MY URL, still then its shows indexed but only position 4. Places 1,2,3 shows again other pages of my website with similair subject. Now my feeling says the other pages have more authority and thats why they show up higher. But then...again now all the content Im adding it isnt showing up.. The last months I added around 300 pages and I did not got one visitor more daily and I have the feeling it is because it are all similair pages and google does not want to show them. My question is: Is their something I can still make them show up? Because they do have all 100% unique content and 100% unique images they only have similair subjects. or Is their some way I can tell Google that his are really different pages, so this would maybe help?0 -

How does one write different pages of their website that are very similar in nature with using too much duplicate content?
We are a service provider and we have different links on our website to each of our services. The problem is the content that we would have for each is very similar. How can I ensure that it is not deemed duplicate content and ranked poorly because of it. Thanks

Removing decent PA and PR pages?
I currently have some html pages that have camtasia videos demo-ing our products; however, these videos are WAY outdated and we no longer want to maintain them. The are only videos, no text at all is on the page. The pages have an average page authority of 40 and mR of 4. Should I just remove these pages or should I create a redirect to the homepage or product page? Or...? I have roughly 30 or 40 of these types of pages. Thanks for any help. Mike

Wordpress Duplicate Pages/ URL's - Help !
Hi guys, I have been running SEOMoz for just over a month and slowly cleaning up one of my Wordpress Blogs. While going through the crawl reports I have noticed that I have duplicate pages showing on the crawl. For example, the main post would be; www.xxxxx.com/blog/post-title Then I see another URL which would be; **www.xxxx.com/blog/page/59 ** When I click on either URL it goes back to the actual post title URL. What's with these page URL's ? Isn't these two URL's showing duplicate content to the search engines ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
