lol... if you really want a grin, I should forward some of the crap people send to me. I have decided that most people who send me infographics are doing that because they can't write articles.... and they can't create infographics either. So I have blocked their entire domains from my inbox. PTL that gmail allows an unlimited number of filters.

Thank you for my morning grin!

There is an opposite of "asset" and that is "liability".
Some infographics are assets because they are artistically well done, informative, and about topics that people want to know about. However, infographics that are poorly done artistically, contain factual errors or have other problems can be liabilities because they stink up your brand.
Most of the infographics that people send to me and ask me to post on my website are weak assets because they are poorly done or of zero value to me because they are irrelevant to my website. So, something that is an asset to you might have no value to me.

While Chris's answer is correct, it may be useful to tie things down to websites a bit more. In this case, an asset is any kind of media that goes on the site. In the same way that assets like chairs, computers, and desks are the things that make up a company's assets, all of the things like videos, images, downloadable PDFs, and infographics are the assets that make up a website's assets. So an infographic is just one type of asset.
As Chris says, an asset is something that has a value. So a chair is an asset because you can sell it on eBay for an amount of money, and you can estimate its value by looking at other chairs on eBay. The value of an infographic could be measured in a range of different ways, from the number of new social media followers it brings you to the lifetime predicted revenue of those social media followers depending on your goals and reporting.

Thank you Chris for your helpful definition.

Jonathan,
An asset is an unspecified or undefined something of value. Stock may be an asset, a house may bean asset, real estate may be an asset, good looks may be an asset. On the other hand, an infographic is something that is well-defined. You know that they are something that is graphical in nature, is used on a webpage, may have SEO value, delivers a message or information, is of value (if it is helping to bring in more traffic or is spreading a brand message).
So, a (good) infographic may be an asset but an asset may be any of a wide number of things someone considers valuable.

Are Duplicate Bio's Duplicate Content?
I'm wondering if I need to go through all the various bio's our firm has on all the various legal directory and client review sites to make sure they have unique bio's? I really, really don't want to do that, but if they are going to flagged as duplicate content, I will. I'm hoping sites like "findlaw," "avvo," etc, have some built in rel:cannonical or something that says these bio's aren't to be seen as unique content and therefore conflict with what's on our site. Anybody know? Just to clarify, any of the sties that have asked for unique content/bio/about us, I have complied with that. However, a lot don't specifically state it has to be unique, so I've just copy and pasted from our site in those cases. Thanks, Ruben

Difference in Forum and Blog for SEO
I was pushing my employer to agree to switch to add a blog onto our site and he asked me, what is the difference between the blog and a forum for SEO purposes. Besides the general look and feel and a forum being more community oriented, is a blog better than a forum for seo, and if so, why? It can be vice-versa I just need to fully understand this myself so I can begin to work on one and explain it to my employer. If anyone can provide any insight, it will be much appreciated.

Hi, During the process of redefining our business I'm planning a relaunch of our website. My goal is to restructure my content and URL structure. I have a lot of non relevant and not ranked content. My question how I can find out the top 10 or top 20 URL's of my actual site that are worth to keep. I'm not familiar with this kind of research... 😞 Thanks in advance

Duplicate Pages Different Content
Will duplicate pages different content hurt rankings/seo E-commerce Site is plugin style with WYSIWYG editor allowing for full customization, all pages are setup with basic default content. Ive created custom pages with content/keywords to begin seo on them I have two pages www.domain.com/sports/hockey and www.domain.com/nhl-tickets The first url is default, with a single H1tag, + Default Meta+Title tags, the second is the content rich page, and structured properly, both of which show up on the site, should I block the first url from displaying at all? The reason I am asking is because ive also setup breadcrumb links, which makes all of these category url's accessible on the site, I cannot edit breadcrumb links, we can either have them there or remove them. Thank you Very Much!!

Does having blog on subdomain weaken primary site's SEO?
I have a Joomla site with a WordPress subdomain that I'm wanting to use as a learning center. It's far more simple for new blog editors and publishers to learn that over Joomla. The issue I'm facing is trying to figure out rather having the blog put into the primary domain instead of a subdomain will hurt my ratings at all? Where I got the idea that it may hurt ratings is due to how (from what I understand) search engines will see a subdomain slightly different than the primary domain. Thank you for any help!

Blog and Website = 2 different URL's - Is it WORTH to merge content on to one site
Good day Mozzers! A friend of mine recently asked for my help in regards to online marketing. While getting familiar with his online presence, I realized that he has a blog hosted under a completely different URL Main Site = http://pardons.org/ (page rank 4)

Blog = http://pardons.wordpress.com/ (page rank 3) What I am battling with is whether or not he should take all of the blog content he has, and merge it on to his main site. It has over 280+ blog posts spanning over a few years, so there is A LOT of content that could benefit his main site. However is it worth it, or should he continue to run everything as 2 different sites? Also, of you suggest moving the content over, what would be the best way to do it in your opinion? He currently has links on his blog TO his main site, so there is a little bit of link juice there, but with a average of 300 views a day, he only get about 10 clicks to his main site from the blog. Thanks a ton for your help!0 -
