Clear out Spammy Links

I was looking at my Open Site Explorer, and I noticed that now we have link anchor text in terrible words (porn videos, free streaming porn movies, big black c*ck)
I believe this is an ex employee who we caught doing black hat seo and now they are retaliating.
Has anyone had this happen to them? I need to know how to remove these links and make it stop.
We have had a slight decline in our ranking as well, and wasn't sure if it could be the result of all this spamming.
Any help would be appreciated.

Firstly, don't worry too much
I highly doubt that the drop you've seen in ranking has anything to do with this spam attack. Have you received a warning in Google Webmaster Tools?The vast majority of links appear to be nofollowed - you can pretty much ignore these entirely, as they shouldn't have any impact on you. You'll also note that many of the linking pages have a PR of 0 on sites where that should be higher, indicating that Google knows these pages are being used for link spam. You're going to have a hard time getting them to stop or remove the links. If you really feel the need (and I wouldn't) you can contact the site owners and ask them to make UGC content like blog comments nofollow.
Ultimately it's out of your control, but I think Google understands what's happening here. You may have lost some rankings when the bad links your former employee built stopped counting. What I'd do is continue on doing legitimate link building. If you receive a warning in Google WMT, you have a harder deicision to make over whether to submit a reconsideration request explaining the situation to Google.

Wow ...this is bad.
From your profile, I'd say you had about 75 to 100 root linking domains before the attack.
I'd fill a preemptive reconsideration request now, detailing all this. You'll probably get a "no manual actions found" message, but it will be on record. Second, I'd also post it on the Google Webmaster Forums as employees sometimes answer cases like this with assurances that these links aren't going to you.

Yes all to the homepage. It says we have 1,052 linking domains and most of them are the spam it looks like. I'm not sure how many we had before all this.
Our site is pretty established, but I'm worried this could really affect us.

that's bad. are they all pointing to the homepage? What sort of number are we talking about and what is the ratio to links you already have?
If this is just starting I would get vigilant and try to track down the source of the poster which is often quite difficult.
The more established the site the harder it is to take a site down, but new sites that aren't trusted well can definitely be sabotaged.

I'm confused about the Spammy Structured Markup Penalty: "This site may not perform as well in Google results because it appears to be in violation of Google's Webmaster Guidelines." Outranked by link farm
Hello Mozzers, I got a questions about some rankings. Some of my sites always had no. 1 rankings for most of the competitive terms per niche. I recently made the change to a full responsive design for more mobile friendliness. No all of the sudden I see different competitors that are not mobile friendly outranking me for some of my most important keywords but also I see some link farm sites (like: camping.startpagina.nl) outranking me for some terms. I was under the impression that Google doesn't like link farm sites? Also I provide a lot of good unique content on my pages and my competitor does no such thing. Still for some terms he outranks me. I understand that it can't be just 1 thing and that there are a lot of factors playing a rol in the big picture but still, you must understand that this is pretty frustrating. I obey the rules of the search engines and see competitors do no such thing and still being outranked by them. Further details of this matter can be send to you in PM if you need it. Links and how they count?
We managed to get ourselves out of a penalty 6 months ago and 100 days later after the message of penalty removable we finally felt that we were moving back on track (not a lot of movement before and 50% down due to links being taken away), we have around 120 really high quality links but 95% of them are urls or the business name. Anyway we still have a couple of pages that I feel are fairly down on rankings and most of the links as mentioned above are high quality but they are either anchor text of the website name or url my main question is that when looking at my competitors I see that they have the same or less links and from much less powerful places (most I would not touch) but they seem to have a ratio of 5 - 10 % of the links are the keywords they are trying to rank for. My question is if you have 50 links from better places but they are unrelated terms such as the web site name or just urls and you have 50 links from average places but 5 - 10% are on related terms to what you are trying to rank for which ones would win out.

Site-wide links: Nofollow or eliminate altogether?
As a web developer, it's not uncommon for me to place a link in the footer of a website to give myself credit for the web design/development. I recently decided to go back and nofollow all these site-wide footer links, to avoid potentially looking spammy. I wanted to know if I should remove these links altogether, and just give myself text credit without a link at all? I would like for a potential client who is interested in my work to still be able to get to my site if they like my work - but I want to keep my link profile squeaky clean. Thoughts?

Link Building Agency refuses to report Hours of work completed, is this normal?
A link building agency we are interested in is promising to work until X number of whitehat (manual) links are acquired for $YYYY each month. They say they don't report on hours, but instead focus on results. Is this common or is it a red flag?

Post Panda Link Building Methods
Google Panda update has brought about so much changes in Google search engine algorithms. I like to know what sort of link building is considered good for SEO in the present scenario? Linking Profile Gone Bad?!
Recently, I was looking over the linking profile for one of our large clients, and I noticed that a ton of spammy links were appearing. I have never purchase any links or done anything shady that would contribute to this large increase in bad links. It appears as though someone is trying to hijack the SEO of this company, and I don't know how to proceed. Currently, they have not been penalized by Google, but I would not be surprised if a penalty is on its way due to the obvious link spam. Is there any way to report this to Google to ensure that no penalties occer? Any advice on the issue is much welcomed! Thanks
