Should I link from an optimised product image to the product page from a blog post?
-
If I am writing a blog post about a product, or a number of products, and I'm including optimised images of the product, should I link from the images to the product page in the shop?
Usually I remove links from images as they lead visitors to a simple image page but could it be worth linking from an optimised image to a product?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve,
I don't see a problem with doing that but best practice would be to leave the optimized image alone and add some linked anchor text somewhere or maybe link the product name within the blog post instead? I have shared a blog post about internal linking below. Check it out
https://blog.kissmetrics.com/commandments-of-internal-linking/
"In keeping with the content theme of internal linking, your internal links should use anchor text as opposed to linked images. Image links are fine, provided that images are not the main source of links, and assuming the image is properly alt-tagged."

Adwords landing pages with no site links
Adwords best practices say to focus landing pages on conversions, with no navigational links to the rest of your website so they don't get distracted. However, now that Google Ads in the SERPs look so similar to organic results, visitors may click the ads instead of the organic result because that's what they see first. What is the risk of turning off these visitors who come to a landing page with a form, instead of a way to navigate through the rest of your site? Discussion question: Trade-offs between a form-focused landing page and providing navigation to the rest of the site?

Is anyone aware of stats stating how many people abandon pages the deeper they get in a site?
For example, let's say someone enters via a landing page, and instead of having a form there is a button to a form. What percentage of people will click the button and fill out the form vs if the form was right there on the page? Basically, I am trying to figure out what percentage of users do websites lose for every click a user makes on the site.

I am confused on adding Google+ authorship markup to a multiauthor WP blog
The blog for a client is at http://blog.multiview.com . I am not sure how to tell them to add Google+ authorship tags to the site, and link the posts to the individual G+ profiles of each individual author. One source shows it is highly complex, seesee http://searchengineland.com/the-definitive-guide-to-google-authorship-markup-123218 However, in the Google webmaster account, there is a real simple explanation, i.e. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2539557?hl=en Considering that this is an area that is very murky for me, is one of these directives out of date? Is one preferable? How complicated would that be, for this particular blog?

Help with ecommerce duplicate pages and SEO advice(magento base site)
Hi, We have a magento build site (www.mokee.eu) and are selling our own branded goods. So far it is a very limited range of products. It's 1 baby crib in 5 variations. We recently started getting more sales from the site, so I started to look a bit more into optimising our site. I rewrote item name, created better descriptions, added meta titles and description etc. and subscribed to the MOZ analytics platform to understand a bit better ways to improve things up. From what I saw we have a big issue of duplicated content because our product pages are the same and only the product colour changes, which is something google apparently doesn't like However it is important for us that each colour get referenced by google so people who search for grey cot can find a picture of our grey cot etc... Also I was thinking to create only on multi variation page with all colour but when you have only 1 product to sell it might look a bit empty on the site. 1- Do you guys have some advise on how to go round this issue? 2- Do you have any other advise for my site in particular to optimise things and actually do you think i should be worried at all with such a small catalogue? Thanks Sam

Same review across multiple pages
Hello, I would like to add reviews on some pages of my website, so it could eventually show up in the google search results with some nice stars. The problem is that the same review will be shown on multiple pages: Example: Reviews about France Reviews about French Riviera Reviews about Monaco (The review is about Monaco but as it's a town on the French riviera and in France i would like to use it to calculate an "Aggregate Rating" for the parent destinations...) Do you think that the use of the same review (with microdata) across multiple pages could be interpreted as a spammy way to get stars in the SERP and eventualy result in lower positions ? Or should I just use the Aggregate Rating without the reviews ? Many thanks for your answers, BR from France Evgueni

Time spent downloading a page increased drasticly
Hi Guys, We have found increased "Time spend downloading a page" drastically. Our website: www.learnenglishindublin.com Our company is located in Ireland, so we moved our servers from US to Ireland at the beginning of December. Also before increasing 'Time spend downloading a page" I did: I have installed plugins JCH Optimize (plugin is optimizing CSS and Javascripts [merging them]) I have installed ScriptsDown - which is moving all scripts to bottom of site. Pingdom tools shows that site is loading average of 2.7 secs. Pages are cached. Gzip is used. Our SEO rankings dropped from 1 page to 2 page. We have gone up in Google Maps search. Image sizes are about 1.7MB Any idea how things have actually gotten worse after this “improvement”? Thanks, Olivia increased.jpg

Need Advice on Home page Conversion Rate Improvement - not much $$s
Anyone out there have some suggestions for how I can improve my home page and increase my lousy conversion rate? I've spent years on the content and SEO optimization of my site and very little time on making a home page that sells stuff. Caveat - I don't have the money to go to one of those fancy companies who do a complete makeover and charge in the tens of thousands. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Google Plus account - Should I use Brand or Product Type
Hi Let's assume that our company's name is "Smith Computers" and we specialize in Ultrabooks (for those who don't know - super light and slim computers - a niche within computers for the matter). Under which name would you open the Plus account - Smith Computers Ultrabooks Smith Ultrabooks Smith Ultrabooks Computers The example is not 100% but the question remains - No one knows Smith Computers and even if we turn up in search results for computers, the customers are not looking for our type products.

However, it is our brand name! Ultrabooks - I assume it will help us gain followers faster but will be hard to brand. The followers will be people who like the product and not the company but might be good people to sell to in the future. I'd say that option 3 is half branding and option 4 is 75% branding 🙂
Both will also have good chances to pop up in search results. The company at hand is a family owned business. We do not plan to rule the industry but rather taking it to the next level. We do not count on having thousands of people searching Google for "Smith Computers" like Best Buy etc. Please consider that at the end we want to use it both for promoting our brand (slowly) but also (and maybe mainly) SEO (by getting more people that click +1 onsite). We currently have lots of Facebook followers but naturally they only Like and not +1 Please help...0
