Moz forum response seems to crash Outlook?
-
Hi, Like the new look of Moz.
I got an automated email the other day saying someone had responded to a question we asked on Moz. However, when opening the email, it really held Outlook 2010 up. So slow that it crashed Outlook a couple of times. When trying to forward the email to a colleague, I got the 'Contacting \d1...cloudfront.net\img_users' dialogue box, which just stood there for ages, and eventually I had to give up and force Outlook to quit.
Please see attached screenshot.
Looking at the URL Outlook was trying to reach indicates it's trying to load up the avatar of the person who responded. Which would look nice I admit, but don't really need it in the email if it's going to cause Outlook to crash. There is an 'image not found' icon next to the post, so that's why I assume Outlook is searching for that image.
It's almost as if the image is incorrectly referencing a local source (network drive) which it can never find. Perhaps there is a missing http:// prefix before the image in the tag?
Anyway, was curious to know if anyone else has this problem, or if anyone at Moz can check this out (update template?)
Regards, Rich

This is happening to me also. Using the latest Outlook in Office 365.

This is ridiculous.
No fix? is this a Moz issue? Microsoft issue? who can help with that?

And I thought it was just me! Well at least I feel a bit better now! Ken

Me too.

Would love it if someone would get to the BOTTOM of this.
Same problem reported here - Win7, MS Outlook 2010.Still no solution.
This has gotta be driving us few Outlook users crazy and causing us to lower our engagement with the forums.
-
Yup, definitely not fixed!
I'm also using Outlook 2013. It looks like the profile image is causing it:

That's so funny, I just got the automated message from Moz to say this forum thread has been updated (from you Roeesa), and I thought "Oh yeah, that Outlook freeze thing". In the meantime,I had clicked on the message, and Outlook instantly froze!
So I would say the issue is NOT fixed!
I use Outlook 2013 now, so the issue is the same as it was in Outlook 2010 (probably same base-code?)
Luckily this time I left Outlook alone for 45 seconds, and eventually it loaded the content of the e-mail.
So there must still be some image, code or script etc. that is causing that issue.

Hi, I know this is 2 years old - just had the same issue.
I guess the fix (here: https://mza.seotoolninja.com/community/q/moz-email-is-freezing-microsoft-outlook) isn't enough.
Anybody else had this too?
-
Ah thanks both.
Did try to search before posting, but couldn't find anything. Sorry for duplication.
Sounds like they are working on it.

I am getting the same problems - crashes my outlook all the time. Would be great to get a solution.
-
HI,
There is a thread here which at the bottom details a temporary fix until the issue is solved: http://moz.com/community/q/moz-email-is-freezing-microsoft-outlook
It is annoying! I find that if I leave outlook to itself after about 25 seconds or so the mail appears (then is a good time to delete it so that you don't get the freeze again by accidentally clicking on the mail later on).

Why are only two pages of my site being crawled by MOZ?
MOZ is only crawling two pages of my site even though there are links on the homepage, and the robot.txt file allows for crawling. Our site address is www.hrparts.com.

Moz Local support -- please address our dashboard issues.
We are experiencing issues with two client locations for Hillcrest. Hillcrest Home Care and Hillcrest Hospice Care. The Hospice Care location is displaying as Home Care, and one of the duplicate Home Cares is saying it is paused. This might be due to the fact that Google flagged Hospice Care as a duplicate of Home Care, because they are at the same address but have different suite numbers. Please help ASAP. Thanks.

Changed to HTTPS: Do I need to update Moz?
Hi Everyone! I have moved my website from HTTP to HTTPS. I believe that I've done everything correctly. Now that I've done that, do I need to update my Moz campaign (and how to do that)? Or, will Moz handle it itself? Or, do I need to create a new campaign with the HTTPS url? Thanks so much!

Under http://analyti/pro/home only 2 of my 5 campaigns are showing up, but if I go to the old page http://moz.com/pro/home they all show up. How do I fix it so all show up under the new Moz Analytics?

Maybe a silly question but do Moz write guest blogs? If so, who do I ask?
We have refreshed our website and, to supplement the content we write ourselves, we just want some nice, simple, quality written content from our suppliers, of which Moz is one. I'm probably being stupid, but I can't (yet) see how to contact anyone at Moz directly. While my search continues, I'll post this question.

Moz Netiquette
It's now happened three times in three days: I get unsolicited email (apparently harvested from my Moz profile) that invites me to try a new product or contribute to a new site. The senders are completely unknown to me. The emails are full of hype, sketchy on details and poorly written. They have all the hallmarks of phishing scams. But on further inquiry the emails seem to be legit. I nonetheless feel entitled to confess my extreme exasperation. When did sending unsolicited mass email of the "Dear Colleague" variety to perfect strangers become acceptable business practice? It's always struck me as being beyond the pale and beneath contempt. Why would anyone try to launch a business which such dubious and unsavoury tactics? Am I missing something here? Or becoming a fuddy duddy? I suppose I could remove my contact info from my MOZ profile, but I have found it useful in the past. What surprises me is that people would contact me "out of the blue" to ask for free help without making the slightest attempt to cultivate a relationship first. Am I wrong?
