Bounce rate and Chrome
-
My client had a large spike in their bounce rate at the end of June, 2017. After spending far too long looking around Google Analytics I discovered that the bounce rate increased 5x when version 59.0.3071.104 of Google Chrome appeared on the scene. Version 59.0.3071.102 and older had a bounce rate of about 13%. Version 59.0.3071.104 increased to 65%. Each subsequent version is about the same.FireFox, Safari and the rest are showing no significant changes.Any idea what is happening here? Many thanks.

Thanks for the tips Seoman. Our developer uses browser testing and everything appears to be in good shape from a users perspective. Our struggle is why did Chrome, overnight, give us a 5x higher bounce rate while all other browsers stayed the same?

Sounds like some sort of incompatibility with some features within chrome.
Bounce rate isn't necessarily a bad thing, you may find it's actually loading all the resources better and therefore they don't need to navigate to more pages to find what they are looking for. Does that make sense?
- Another thing is to try some browser testing see https://crossbrowsertesting.com and https://www.browserstack.com, assuming you can find the correct version of the browser you want to test it can be an excellent way to find issues.
- I would see if you can find a top web developer and get them to analyse it.

Less than 7% bounce rate
I've just taken on a new client and on first look at their Google Analytics they are getting a bounce rate between 7% and 0%. Frankly I'm amazed if this is correct as between 1 April 2017 and 21 June 2017 they've driven 6403 session to the site from a range of referrers as well as AdWords (which has a 0% bounce rate), so traffic is pretty good. I've never seen such a low bounce rate which is making me suspicious, what can I do to check it's all recording properly? Any other ideas or have I found a near perfect site in terms of bounce? Why might my websites crawl rate....explode?
Hi Mozzers, I have a website with approx 110,000 pages. According to search console, Google will usually crawl, on average, anywhere between 500 - 1500 pages per day. However, lately the crawl rate seems to have increased rather drastically: 9/5/16 - 923

How to measure Bounce Rate via Timeout
Hi, I want to change the way Google Analytics measures my bounce rate: after 20 seconds timeout instead of next page criteria. I know that I may do it adding some content like: setTimeout(“_gaq.push([‘_trackEvent’, ‘NoBounce’, ’20 seconds’])”,20000); But I wonder if there is some way to do it via Google Analytics configuration. Thanks in advance,

High bounce rate on affiliate portal
Hi everyone, I own several affiliate websites and i have a really high bounce percentage(61%) and a high exit rate(78,45%). But i don't know the exact meaning of both words: At the homepage of my website people have the possibility to directly click on several banners, so they then going to another website via the affiliate-link, lots of people click these links. So i was wondering is this the reason why my exit rate en high bounce percentage is that high, or could it have another reason? Thank you,

Bounce Rate
Howdy Mozzers Does anyone know if the 'average time on site' in Google analytics is calculated with bounce rate included? For example if you have a 50% bounce rate and your average time on site is 2 minutes the actual time would be 4 minutes as the 50% bounce rate time is classed as 0. I hope that is clear! Cheers
