Dear Mozzers,
We have implemented schema.org on our website and it's showing up as being correct.
However, I've been told by a SEO company that what we have done is incorrect and is therefore giving out wrong signals to google and that it needs fixing but they haven't told me whats wrong with it.
Would someone please be able to have to have a quick scan and highlight anything that is not correct. I have enclosed 4 urls belows of the different sections of my website.
My website homepage - is -- http://goo.gl/2F80w2
We have a number of branches- An example branch url is - http://goo.gl/8FpcaS
example category url - http://goo.gl/gbAaD2
example product url - http://goo.gl/EXI1Sr
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks

Hi Peter
Can only agree with Dirk on this, I have only ever seen the markup in one area when it has been implemented using JSON-LD, we did recently do some markup for a client using Magento which uses a third party search system.
We implemented the code in the normal manner which shows up in the html blocks as Dirk mentioned this was rewritten by the 3rd party search system to use JSON-LD and the code was then all in a nice neat block. But I have never heard of this being a requirement.

Some outstanding examples can be found here
https://builtvisible.com/micro-data-schema-org-guide-generating-rich-snippets/
Then test your own site and other sites that you know will have proper implementation using
https://www.deepcrawl.com/knowledge/best-practice/schema-101-the-tags-that-search-engines-support/
THE REGEXES:
Use the pre-written regex below to extract your site’s schema tags.
MICRODATA ONLY:
microdata:(itemtype=["']http\:\/\/schema.org) microdata-itemtype:{0..9}itemtype\s?=['"\s]?http\:\/\/schema.org\/([^\"\s\']*)
RDFA ONLY:
rdfa:(vocab=['"]http:\/\/schema.org\/['"]) rdfa-typeof:{0..9}typeof=['"]([^"']*)"
JSON ONLY:
json-ld:(

If the markup passes the test it's valid markup & meets Google's guidelines. It would seem a bit ridiculous for Google to develop a test if the results of the test were not valid.
Never heard that markup needs to be put in one place. Most of the time the markup is inserted within your HTML so you will have several blocks of markup (unless you use the JSON-LD markup).

Many thanks Both,
The SEO company got back to me and implied that as my webpages contain contains several blocks of markup , the first issue is that they need to be condensed into one set of markup for each page.
The also said, it was to basic and not extensive enough and even though Google's testing tool does not indicate any errors does not necessarily mean that the markup is correct or that it meets Google's guidelines.
Do you know if they have a point about the single markup as opposed to several blocks of markup per page as I have never heard that point mentioned before?
thanks

I have checked all of the urls that you have added in your question above and I can confirm that they are all clean and green according to the Structured Data Testing Tool as highlighted by Dirk above https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ so not sure what the SEO Company is looking at.
-
Hi
You can check the implementation in Webmastertools https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ - or in a tool like https://webmaster.yandex.com/microtest.xml
I checked a branch page - for Yandex some of the fields are not correct (url / local address / local phone missing) - but most of it seems ok. For Google everything was ok.
You could check the other pages as well using these tools.

What is the best structured data for my website
We have 10:branches for our agency where we are looking to attract local businesses to use our marketing services, should each landing page have structured data for ‘local business’? Any advice would be helpful

Should I use LocalBusiness schema on my home page or Contact Us page?
I know I should only use Organization schema on one page of my site, but I'm not sure if I should use it on the Home page or use LocalBusiness schema on the home page. I was thinking of adding LocalBusiness schema to home page, Organization schema to About Us page and Corporate Contact Schema to Contact us page. Thoughts? Is there a best practice? I can't seem to find much information on what's best to use where.

One website or multiple websites
Im going round in circles with the best way to go about marketting my business from an SEO and usability stand point. My company specialise in self adhesive films and vinyls which give us quite a varied niche. Our main areas are: Window films and interior vinyls such as printed wallpaper, wall coverings, furniture wraps etc for homes and businesses - For this area we cover nationwide Automotive films such as car window tinting, car and van wraps and paint protection films - for this we need the vehicles bringing to us so this is a more local are (around 20 miles of us max) Signs and graphics - anything from office signs, pavement signs to printed banners - these are all commercial and we go to the customer. For this its a new side to the business and Id say wed look to go withing 50 miles of our base. My dilemma is, firstly when pushing social media etc we have a real divide for who we target as we have the home owers and business owners on one hand and then car enthusiasts on the other. Also from an SEO point of view theres the local vs nationwide aspect. A few people I have spoken to have said trying to target local for some services and national for others may be a little problematic. I have some people saying have all services under one domain as the links back to the site and content will all help the site to rank better. This sounds logical to me. But then Ive had other people saying split the site into 2/3 sites. Definitely split the automotive which is local from the other national areas as these are also going to be a different audience 9car enthusiasts vs home/business owners). It will mean doing two lots of SEO but the sites will be more focused on the target audience and we can have one tagret local search and the other national. This too seems very logical. My gut feeling is that both options are sort of right but doesn anyone have any advice that could help me figure this out. Also to make things a little more complicated we have an ecommerce side were we supply goods direct to the public. Woudl I be better to have a fresh domain which is simply an ecommerce platform or have a seperate shop section on my main domain were people can go to buy the products if they dont want us to fit them?

If I kill off the franchisee websites and create a corp SEO monster...will my Company's SEO suffer? Pros and Cons?
Our 25 franchisees sell one product of our 7 within the Corporate porfolio. We getting ready to release a brand new corp website employing all the best possible SEO practices. Since the franchisee's barely maintain their 3-page website...we are thinking of killing them off. We will create some market pages on the Corp side and continue to use HubSpot to pass along leads to the individual franchisees. Corporate has robust Content Marketing strategy in place. Any suggestions? Cases studies?

Does having 3 city's in my Title Tag help or hurt me?
Hello!! I have a health insurance agency located in a small city. I need to reach more area's, and I'm wondering if adding a couple more cities to the Title Tag actually helps? Or should I go the other route and try achieving it with location landing pages? I've seen other websites do it, but I'm hesitant. Any advice welcome 🙂 The site is http://wilkersoninsuranceagency.com/ in Coppell, Tx It currently ranks 3rd on Google. Thank you in advance!! 🙂 xx

Quick Question Seeking Quick Answer
Hi Mozzers,
Local SEO | | WhiteboardCreations
I have a new client who bought a dental practice from another dentist. The old dentist has a website www.olddentistsite.com (not a real domain, just an example) and the new dentist wants there to be a message on the old dentists website Home page stating how the practice was bought. My idea just came up... most would do a message on that domain. However, would you recommend I actually create a new page in the new dentists website which the old website domain redirects to ie: www.olddentistsite.com [redirects to >] www.newdentistsite.com/olddentistsite/ and then on this page we display a nice message about the acquisition, scheduling new patients, new logo, meet the new Dr, a video, better office hours, etc... Is this something the visitors will enjoy or get a good feeling from? Let me know your thoughts on which option is best to implement. Looking for a few quick replies!! Thanks in advance everyone! - Patrick0 -
Is using emoji's in meta descriptions a good or bad idea ? - I haven't seen it used much hence my query
Hello Mozzers, We need to redo some of our meta descriptions as our CTR's are not to good. I've noticed one of my competitors using emoji's which I personally think looks pretty good. They are using the Phone icon and ticks - as calls to action etc However, I can't see hardly anyone else using them on general serps ...so I am wondering , is it a bad idea ? thanks Pete

Does having /search/ in your URLs for searches within your site hamper these URLs from coming up on Google SERP's?
We are an aggregate site for a particular category and have our own internal search wherein visitors can search for local references to services that they are looking for. We use SOLR search and our results page for the "Tag123" search would look like www.mywebsite.com/city/search/tag123 For some reason, we see that these pages are all indexed on Google but they do not come up on SERPs appropriately! The content is unique and we also have appropriate title and description tags on these pages.
