Frequent Blog Content-Effective in Improving Ranking?
-
To what extent will posting quality blog posts 2 to 3 times per week have the following effects:
1. Improve ranking for specific keywords?
2. Create backlinks to our website
3. Increase MOZ domain authority
4. Increase organic search trafficAssume that the blog posts are geared towards answering user inquiries and are also posted on our social media accounts. Would such an approach be better than engaging in a link building campaign, in the sense that the links will be created organically by users that want to link to our site?
Thanks,
Alan -
Hi Egol:
Thanks so much for your response!! In 2018 we focused on UX, now the plan for 2019 is to improve content and build back links.
After reading your answer, I am not sure about our SEO's plan for 6 blog posts per month. The topics would highly researched and pertinent for visitors, answering potential real estate questions. From what you are saying we should focus more on . developing and improving internal content.
Assuming the quality of the content is excellent, how many blog posts per month are optimal?
Thanks,
Alan -
I would rather post a long read once a month, filled with good researched information, then worrying about a freshness signal and risk keyword cannibalism or thin content.

If you do those things exceptionally well and your content is on-the-mark for your target audience, then the work should produce the results that you are looking for.
If you fill your blog with worthless prattle, you are simply wasting your time.
If you plan to do those things exceptionally well, get your mind away from a blog. Instead, build the content into a highly organized website. That website should be presented in a way that drives visitors to the content that they need and helps search engines recognize the depth and breadth of your content. Too many people see blogs as magic bullets. They are a disorganized way of posting content that generally are not optimized for visitors or search engines.

Blog.ledsupply.com VERSUS ledsupply.com/blog
Hi All- We had a security issue that started on out blog (ledsupply.com/blog) and moved into our shopping cart, so IT suggested and moved the blog to its own server. This means we had to change the URL structure. It's now blog.ledsupply.com/ instead of ledsupply.com/blog...Is there evidence or opinion on whether this will effect SEO/Traffic (assuming we set-up redirects, etc.)? I remember reading that Google suggests having your BLOG be part of your main domain and not a SUB domain, so I'm very hesitant to switch and also welcome any additional security measure suggestions we could set-up, so that we can keep the preferred domain structure. Thank you so much! -Brooke

Influencers, links, guest blogging, content what really works ?
Hi there, I am scratching my head lately and wondering what is the best in order to increase the ranking of my website... I am sure most of you will say a combination of everything but what else... I know that if an influencer (someone who has a important Klout score) writes about you and links to your website is helpful but what about having a link on a webpage like that : https://goo.gl/YYy5f9 is it still worth my time asking for link on those types of webpages (not that they aren't considered spam according to moz spam score) What about having a link in article on the USA today, what is more important, the fact that the usa today writes about you and has a high DA or the person who writes it ? I am in tourism industry and work with hotels is it worth my time contacting hotels I work with for links or see that a hotel page is not related to what I do which is bicycle tours, or am I wasting my time ? Finally, can't I outrank my competitors by just being more relevant in my content than them know I have a DA of already 38...without chasing links and a website that is 10 years old. Thank you,

Implications of posting duplicate blog content on external domains?
I've had a few questions around the blog content on our site. Some of our vendors and partners have expressed interest in posting some of that content on their domains. What are the implications if we were to post copies of our blog posts on other domains? Should this be avoided or are there circumstances that this type of program would make sense?

Rankings going down down down
Hi guys, I know this is a little open ended, but any advice/ideas would be greatly appreciated. I launched a new site about 3 months ago (www.transfersandshuttles.co.za). I have had unique, useful articles written for it, and the site does provide a useful service. I have done a little link building and continue to do so. The site was making decent progress moving up the rankings for a few weeks, but now it just seems to get worse and worse.

Duplicate Content | eBay
My client is generating templates for his eBay template based on content he has on his eCommerce platform. I'm 100% sure this will cause duplicate content issues. My question is this.. and I'm not sure where eBay policy stands with this but adding the canonical tag to the template.. will this work if it's coming from a different page i.e. eBay? Update: I'm not finding any information regarding this on the eBay policy's: http://ocs.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CustomerSupport&action=0&searchstring=canonical So it does look like I can have rel="canonical" tag in custom eBay templates but I'm concern this can be considered: "cheating" since rel="canonical is actually a 301 but as this says: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/12/handling-legitimate-cross-domain.html it's legitimately duplicate content. The question is now: should I add it or not? UPDATE seems eBay templates are embedded in a iframe but the snap shot on google actually shows the template. This makes me wonder how they are handling iframes now. looking at http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/search-engine-simulator.shtml does shows the content inside the iframe. Interesting. Anyone else have feedback?
