No follow Internal Links
-
Hello,
I am comparing my site with my competitors. According to Open Site Explorer, my site has 541 internal follow links, and a total of 1,286 total internal links, implying I have 745 no follow internal links.
I tried to drill into these internal no follow links using the "Inbound Links" report in OSE. But I'm receiving an error stating that No Data is Available for this URL.
Does anyone have any insight to this? I'd really like to understand where those no follow links are coming from.
Thanks in advance.

Inbound links are links you receive from external websites. So the internal links won't show up there.
Try looking at your robots.txt file to see if you have any exlusions in it. The data will be different in a few weeks of course, but you'll still be comparing apples and pears
Inbound links = from external sources.
Internal links = your site linking to different pages on your root domain

I would try again in a couple of weeks. I bet you get different numbers.

Same linking c-blocks trend as competitor
I noticed in our competitive link report that our number of linking c-blocks has risen and fallen in the exact same pattern as one of our competitors. Is there a reason why this would be happening?

Domain or Category Links for E-Commerce Page?
I am trying to rank with my page on a major keyword for my E-Commerce store. Currently, I am ranking on page 4 in SERP:

mydomain.com/category-for-major-keyword Now when people like to link to me, what should I do? Shall they link to: mydomain.com or mydomain.com/category-for-major-keyword What brings me more in terms of ranking for that keyword with my category? Thanks, Robin1 -
Can relative links PLUS multiple hompage versions spell disaster?
I still see internal links to default.asp from every other .asp page even though I have updated most of the relative /default.asp links to www.site.com since I 301 redirected it. I am seeing this in Open Site Explorer for one. (I'm sure my lack of understanding has to do with not quite getting the purpose of default.asp.) Anyways, I am wondering if all the relative links throughout the site pointing to other .asp pages need to be updated to absolute links (so www.site.com/page.asp instead of /page.asp) for me to avoid this problem. Does one even have anything to do with the other?

When do the "just discovered" links on Open Site Explorer count?
I have been working hard to get follow backlinks but they have all been in the Just Discovered part of Open Site Explorer for a long time. So they don't count in my stats for Domain Authority and such. When do they move OUT of Just Discovered?

Why isn't there any link analysis data in my pro dashboard?
Hi! I've had a pro account for almost a month now and there still isn't any data for my site in the competitive domain analysis section of the pro dashboard. Am I doing something wrong? Bvxj4.png

OSE lists dead links
Going over the link profile of a competitor who gets 5x the traffic we do.... of course frustrated that the majority of their links are spam blogs (full of words but don't communicate anything) and forum profiles. Thanks Google for telling me what not to do, then rewarding my competitor for doing it shamelessly. Question regarding sites listed by Open Site Explorer as linking to said competitor, but that don't even load when I visit their url. Some go to a godaddy parked page, like the domain name expired long ago. Is this simply a limitation of OSE, and can I assume Google has indexed differently and therefore awarding no link juice from these urls?

Difference between Webmaster and SEOMoz back-link stats?
Hi there, I just noticed that there are differences between the links to my site showing on my Google Webmaster account and what is showing on my link analysis on SEOMoz. Has anyone noticed this? In webmaster I am showing 857 links to my site from 92 different domains. In SEOMoz I am showing 816 links to my site from 53 total linking root domains and only 39 followed domains? Does anyone know why this there is a difference? Are the links showing in Webmaster all indexed and followed links? Thanks in advance 🙂 Karl

What is the difference between the link count on OSE and Linkscape?
We notice a huge difference in the number of inbound links . Site explore shows 1,200 as an example and linkscape shows over 100,000 for the same site.
