Article Marketing
-
Hey Guys,
I am currently doing article marketing for one of my terms on my dads site (I will not publicly post the url).
We have been working to rank for this term for several years and are on the second page near the top, we want to be in the top 5 for the term and we are willing to spend any ammount of money it takes to learn this thing!
We were introduced to article marketing not to long ago so we have hired content writers to write articles on our niche and then we are manually (I MYSELF) am going into article sites and listing the articles with a link back to our site with the anchored keyword txt (1 link per article).
We have been doing 10 articles per keyword (there is several keywords we want to rank for) so we are spreading it out slowly building these article links.
Is this the correct process or are we missing something?
These are real UNIQUE articles only being put on 1 article site never being posted anywhere else.

Hey Keri,
I tested article marketing a lot. Submitted over 200 HAND written articles (no dupes at all) to over 100 different directories.
The rankings did not go up or down so I have stopped article marketing because it all seems to be in vain at this point. I wish it wasnt because I was literally hand writing these articles of 500+ words myself with 1 outgoing link on them to my site with the correct anchor text.
Its really sad.

Hi Shannon,
I'm following up on old, unanswered questions. Can you give us an update about how you and your rankings are doing, and any insights you have into the article marketing you were doing? Do you have any follow-on questions, or is this question answered?
Thanks!

Oh really? Wow... Thats kind of a bummer. As to tapping out this niche the term we are after there are virtually no blogs created for it (we own about 10 of our own to kind of get the industry going).
-
I doubt that you have tapped out this avenue. focus on the customer - what else are they interested in? then find blogs for that.
for example; are they interested in ballroom dancing, thirties/forties/fifties themes, cold war, vietnam war, etc, etc. Interview some real customers and find out what they like - then target that niche.
The aim is to find those customers, wherever they are.
-
In my opinion you are wasting your time with article directories now. They all got hit big time recently, and google are very open about saying it's a waste of your time and money. Stick to using those articles in better ways - guest blogging, adding to your own blog/site, ebook creation, etc.
We saw Matt Cutts yesterday at SXSW and he was very plain about this. Even EzineArticles (the least spammy in my opinion) is almost pointless now.
-
No we have done all types of SEO including blog posts as you said but unfortunately we have already tapped out the top sources for our niche which is automotive restoration.
I doubt automobile insurance websites would really feature our content so the actual selection of closely related sites is about 50 good SITES not even blogs.
Ideas?
-
Your better off contacting related blogs and having them feature your quality content with anchor links back to you -You might need to pay a bit for this placement
Also is article marketing the only seo you do?

Content Marketing - Getting Webmaster to Link to Article
Hello, We're doing a niche article and we want to do a link building campaign around it. I'm not as interested in being linked to in resource sections - that will happen - but my question is for other links. What types of links am I looking for, is it guest posts - is that the best? If so, how do convince them to allow a guest post around an article? Thanks.

Hi I am looking for some advice / lists of recommended local search directories / citations that I can add our double glazing window site - as part of our strategy to improve local search rankings and increase our visibility on the web through SEO for phrases such as 'pvc windows' 'pvc doors' 'double glazing' and 'conservatories' For example I have added the business to the likes of Yelp

I would also be interested in sharing recommended strategy for this market in relation to link building, for example I have thought about offering staff in local goverment / universities / hospitals a genuine discount on our products as part of their staff discount schemes Many Thanks0 -
How to find article sites that will be very picky
I'd like to write good, unique content, and one of the places i was looking at was article repositories. I do understand that most of them have been spammed to death, but I was wondering how I would go about finding ones that would accept my article. I do realize that niche news/forum/informational sites are probably my best bet. Beyond that, would would be a step down or a 'general' article directory where I could get something approved and post content that is high quality. I'm not sure I have time to go around to every niche site and make the handshakes necessary at this time.

Interlinking articles and posts
I have many articles and blog posts on my site. How should I interlink them for the MOST benefit to my root domain. For example, should I consider pointing pages with higher SEOMoz page rank or trust to those with lower rank? Or does that not matter?

Myblogguest how to get your articles out and about?
Hi, I'm a member now of myblogguest.com website, I have paid for the pro subscription and have uploaded 1 article (basically to just see how the system works). I've got 15 articles a month which I want to pump out to blogs but has anyone got any tips using the myblogguest system to get blog websites to pick these up? I think I have been fair, 500 words of unqiue content with 1 anchor text link in the body, thats it. In an ideal world I would love it if I had 15 articles all being grabbed by 15 different blogs each month. By the looks of it, that's wishful thinking!

Article Marketing
Hello, Our nearest ecommerce competitor has quite a few links from article directories like ezinearticles.com and similar sites. I know these sites are bottom of the barrel in SEO, but I've been thinking of writing a few 500 word articles and posting them on some of the strongest of these article directories. Maybe I'll stick to ezinearticles.com since I only like to get links from sites that are going to stick around. What do you think - which of these article directories going to be here for the long term? Mainly what I'm asking for here is a top 5 list of the best article directories, or perhaps a better article marketing strategy. I loved that whiteboard friday on Article Marketing. I'm going to watch that again. Thank you.

Surprised what the Market Samurai guys are suggesting.
Hi all, I wanted to bring this up for discussion as I must admit after seeing so many mixed opinions on this and after what I've just watched tonight I am back on the fence and confused as to what I think. If you are not aware, the guys at NobleSamurai have just launched a new short video campaign based on what they refer to as 18 months of interviews with expert SEO's in order to give people like me, an individual, an insight into how the pro firms are performing SEO today. They're on the second video in the series, which has covered article syndication and link-building. Now I know we don't get the same credit these from article directories like Ezine that we used to BUT what NobleSamurai are claiming is that article creation, and syndication is still the BEST method to obtain back links in quantity. What's worse, and more surprising to me is that they are totally encouraging article spinning. Although they do say manually review each article before submitting, the numbers of spun articles they are hinting at are way too high in order to manually review each version. So with that in mind, I'm very curious as to what you guys think about what NobleSamurai have just started announcing. As I said I'm very much on the fence, but with regards to my current projects, Do you agree or disagree with this approach to content creation and syndication. 1. Find an article topic worthy of writing 2. Go ahead and create it for the purpose of hosting it on my site. 3. Use a spinning tool to create only 3 or 4 other versions(not 1000's!!!) taking care that it still makes perfect grammatical sense however, just using different synonyms and maybe changing paragraph structure a little. 4. Upload the 3 or 4 new versions to different article sites, Ezine etc, of course including links to a. the source article on my site, and b. my sites homepage. Looking forward to hearing what others think. Dave
