Link Building by Guest Posting.... But How many posts?

*** Open Site Explorer Linking Root Domain: 98**

Blog Posts I made: around 580
I never spent ANY time in Link Building, only wrote content for my blog. I only attached my Blog URL in some BIG forums as a signature (never meant for link building, but later found that the signature section of some forums are DOFOLLOW) and very few sites linked/links to me/my articles.
Reasons why I am asking question here:
-
Majority of my blog posts ranks very well (top 10) on Google.co.in, but on Google.com, most of them are present from Page 2 - Page 10 - I want to rank my posts well on Google.com, Google.co.uk etc.
-
SERP of Big sites remains static, but my position shuffles a lot. Sometimes any particular blog post of mine is on first page (on a particular Google Domain) and after some days/months, it shifts to 2nd or 3rd page! This happens a lot!
-
As soon as Google Updates pagerank, many recent articles of mine will get atleast PageRank 2 or 3, but when pagerank in updated again, the pagerank of these very same articles drops! Very few articles of mine have static pagerank
-
I am not a master in Computers/Tech and am not the first one on the internet to discover and write something UNIQUE/NEW, but I try to write detailed and good quality tutorials. If main keywords of my posts matches with the keywords of BIG domains, I never rank on first page, no matter I have written more detailed content compared to the content of these BIG sites! Google sends me traffic to majority of my blog posts by means of random keywords!
I have decided to do Guest Posting on some blogs of similar niche and with Open Site Explorer Domain Authority ranging from 60 to 80.
I will try my level best to write good content for them and they also allows Author Bio with a backlink to my Blog Homepage (in my case, the anchor text for this link will be my Blog Name)
I want to ask following questions:
-
Is one guest post with a backlink to my Homepage is enough? or I have to write more content for same domain?
-
I have heard that, if you link to a website/blog which is linking to you, Google don't pass any juice to either of them because of reciprocal linking! - Is this true?
The websites on which I am planning to do guest posts are very well established and trusted websites. Some of them have Open Site Explorer Domain Authority of 80+. Also, I never linked to them nor I am planning to do so!
I request SEO Gurus here to please help me and I apologize in advance if I am wrong at any point. MY SEO concepts are not much clear and I am a newbie
Thanks and Regards

I have been guest posting for a little while now and I can tell you from experience good sites (authoritative ones as listed above) are not easy to guest blog on. You will need to give the author of the website something valuable to his readers. I noticed you are focusing on little details on what Google counts and what they dont. IMO forget all that, give the users something valuable so that they will like your site, mention it, and bookmark it. If users like your site so will Google!

About link building strategies and article publishing
Hi friends. What could be the best strategies for article publishing with links and anchor text. I did the next. I published original article in my website blog section and then next day published the same article in few news portals with links and anchor text to product landing pages. But google indexed only article from my blog. News portal in my country is with highest DA. Is it ok to do this way or better is make uncial article for every news portal and do not publish in own blog so there is no duplicates? I am afraid that doing my way is waste of time and money. Thanks for help.

Written a great guest post for another site. Can I post it on my own blog too?
So I've written this beautiful guest post for a site who've quite frankly done a bad job of promoting it and I'm a little disappointed. So I'm thinking: a) I could send it around to some other publishers and see if they want it. What would be the duplicate content problems here if any? b) Why not just publish it on my own site and promote it to other blogs and the world in the normal way. c) Is this just wrong and if I say I'm going to write for someone then I write for them and if they make a mess of it that's my problem and I should be more selective about who I give my talents away to in the future. Thanks in advance. I am fairly new to outreach and all the internet searching on this topic is returning stuff about 'allowing other people to post guest blogs on your site' which is not helpful. Rank Brain eh? Supposed to be smart. But it's really not. 🙂

Anchor text and internal link building very fast
Hey guys, I just posted an article about "Customer Success". After that, I searched in my blog all the articles that contains that keyword and then linked to this new article I want to rank. Is this a bad thing to do, linking all these articles (12) in a row? Also, is it a bad thing to use "Customer Success" as the anchor text for all the articles linking to this new article? I looked for this topic but couldn´t find any. Thanks

Zen and the art of link building.
If I understood correctly MozTrust measure the trust of a website, so getting a backlink from a website with a high MozTrust is generally better than getting a backlink from a website with a lower MozTrust, correct? I also saw a loose correlation between MozTrust and Majestic TrustFlow; in general if I take a list of websites and I order them by MozTrust or TrustFlow I get a somehow similar list, even if there's jumps here and there and the positions are not always the same. This reinforce my belief is better to have backlinks from website with high MozTrust (and high TrustFlow). I also understood Domain Authority is, instead, a measure of the potential ranking of a website. So, the two are measuring things which are different, MozTrust is telling you how good it is to get a link from a certain website, DA is telling you how much probable it is to rank well for that website. While hunting for backlinks and trying to figure out what is the best place to get one, I also use a third metric, the number of TOP20 positions for the website. I am doing this on a pure empirical basis, because in my little experience I saw much better results with backlinks when the the linking domain had a lot of positions in TOP20. If I got everything correctly, I would expect a correlation between all these factors. If a website has a high DA I would expect it to rank well and have a lot of TOP20 positions, also backlinks from that website should be worth something. But then... I have found a bunch of websites with a high DA, like 40/50/60, with incredibly small amount of TOP20 positions, like 5 or 10 or 50, and with a respectable MozTrust. And also I saw excellent results with backlinks from websites with 50k TOP20 position and a low DA and a low MozTrust and negligible results with backlinks from websites with a high DA/MozTrust but little or none TOP20 positions. What is your experience? As anyone an explanation of why DA/MozTrust/TrustFlow doesn't match with the count of SERP top postions? Am I getting too geeky?

Is it worth pursing PR and guest posting just for links?
I'm still new to SEO, but I have a decent foundation on it. To me, it seems like guest posting and earning PR on quality sites is good for the coverage, but will those one-off links really make a difference? I'd have to assume that SEOs earn their worth when they build scalable links (i.e. tools that people link to, guides, etc) So, while PR is nice, I feel as if I shouldn't focus my time there, but spending time on building a product such as QuickSprout.com's SEO audit tool, Cappex's college match tool, CNN's budget calculator, Moz's google weather report, etc.

Local service site link building
I have a local service site http://winecountrycarpet.com/ and I have been link building as much as possible for my landing pages (which aren't local to my city, but are within 20 miles). I would like to keep my link building as above board and white hat as possible (so i do a lot of forum sigs and links in do follow forum in my industry) I do not seem to be seeing any results though. My pages are on the first page for their targeted keywords, but I think this has more to do with onsite SEO and non competitive keywords. I am wondering if anyone can recommend any strategies that I might find more effective. I have thought about leaving blog comments on do follow blog's but it just seems so spammy its hard to imagine it working. I am open to any ideas.

Too many external links vs linking root domains - good or bad?
Hi guys, After the latest Linkscape update, we noticed that our website have 424,671 external links with 4,395 linking root domains, so roughly 100 links/domain. Does Google consider this to be a negative thing or we do not need to worry about it. Many thanks. David

Guest Blogging - Build a relationship with a few blogs and post only there or post a few on as many good blogs as possible?
I'm curious which strategy is better in the short term and in the long-term? Part of my link building strategy involves contacting bloggers and posting some guest blogs on their sites. Now there are advantages with posting on a few blogs and creating a link between you and the blog readers and the blog owner. It also saves time trying to contact blog owners etc. However would my time be better spent contacting hundreds of blogs and seeing where I can guest blog and then post on as many as possible; in order to have a diverse number of links going back to my website? What do you think is the best option and why?
