Search Volume Data for iTunes App Store?
-
Ok, so maybe I'm looking in all the wrong places, But where can I get good search volume data for searches done in iTunes app store? Or is this something that Apple just doesn't share?
-
Neither Apple nor Google straight-out give you keyword data in their consoles. However, there are a few workarounds.
Apple has recently added "Apple Analytics" that give useful data, including device types and referring sites. They likely may add KW data in future.
GP (Google Play) does not report keyword data in the Developers Console but (surprise!) when connected to one's GSC (formerly known as WMT), all sorts of juicy data (including keywords) is viewable in GSC.
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2015/05/rolling-out-red-carpet-for-app-owners.htmlApp Annie is very useful for competitive research. It's the best tool out there, followed from a distance by Sensor Tower, App Figures and others. But the best guestimate for volume they offer is "Results" for an app store search, which just means how many apps show up for it. Sensor Tower has a guestimate volume based on the AdWords KW tool.

I have come across a cool site called https://www.appannie.com/ that gives you some analytics, but nothing like search volumes, or even better, ability to track rankings within Google Play Store or iTunes app store. Still new, but really hoping somebody does something like this.

Community Discussion - Voice Search: A Future to be Shaped
Voice search represents a new challenge for SEOs, certainly, but it may also outline some pretty cool opportunities. In Purna Virji's post about the subject, there's an interesting line of thought raised in the comments: voice search reacting to differences in accent and mispronunciations, and taking those things into account for optimization. Let's just take a minute and think about all the wild possibilities in a hypothetical world where voice search is more prevalent than text queries. Release your imagination from the confines of current reality. cue Twilight Zone music

Retailer search engines
Can anyone recommend any companies, tools or products to monitor and suggest best practices for submitting products to retailer search engines (Amazon for example). We are looking for something that will continually monitor a products performance, and pick up on any changes, such as if the retailer changes their search algorithm. Thank you in advance.

How Popular is Google Image Search?
Are there any stats on the volume of searches through Google's Image Search? My assumption is that more users are turning to image search to shop but I haven't found any supporting data. I know that click-throughs to site have fallen after Google's recent changes to the UI but still just interested in initial search volume.

Searching by Demographic Group
Is there a way I can search for top sites searched by a certain demographic group. For example if I searched for: Women 60-70 the top search results would be 1. Menopause.com 2. Retirement.com etc. I want to make sure I'm interact with my customer base where they are searching and engaging the communities they find most interesting and important. I know I can search for demographic information about these specific groups, but I want to get results of top sites used by a certain age and gender. Similar to the way you can target demographic factors in Facebook advertising. Is there possibly some search operators I can use to return these type of results?

YouTube, Closed Captions and Search
Hey team, Just wondering if there's anyone out there that may have dabbled with YouTube closed captions and if having them has any effect at all on search results. My theory (unfounded) is that perhaps these files can be crawled (or viewed) by crawlers and/or given priority in search due to having indexible content which defines the content within the clip - which otherwise wouldn't have been known. Now, I have no evidence that this may be the case but wondering if anyone out there may have seen or read something about it. Seems like kind of a cool thing for SE's to do to help promote accessibility across teh web. Thanks guys.
