What is the lag time for changes to a site to be reflected in Google webmaster tools Diagnostics section?
They pointed out some duplicate titles which I fixed a week ago and yet they still show up as an HTML Suggestion. What has your experience been with making changes and then seeing them reflected in the HTML Suggestions section?
My site is crawled every day, including the pages I have updated with new titles. Seems like it takes a while for the data to trickle into Webmaster tools, no?

Hi Mike,
From what I understand, there is no definitive time frame for how long it takes to update the webmaster diagnostics. Check and see if your changes show up in the Google cache first. If nothing is changed on the indexed pages--something is wrong with the crawl of your site. If the changes are reflected in Google's cache, but are still missing from the webmaster diagnostics, I would just re-verify your site to get a clean start.
One other thing to look out for: is your non-www domain 301'd to the www domain? If not, your webmaster tools may be running diagnostics on the wrong URLs, rendering your changes useless.
Good luck! If all else fails, just wait it out and take solace in the fact that you've made the necessary changes.

Best practice to have gated white paper indexed by Google
Our main website white paper page has an image and brief description of the white paper. Once you click the white paper you are redirected to a form to access the gated white paper. Once you complete that form you are redirected to the white paper pdf which is housed on a subdomain/Hubspot. Because of this, I do not believe our website is getting "credit" for the keywords/content on these pages. Any suggestions on how we can allow the search engines to crawl this content while still keeping it gated? As I understand it a sub domain cannot hep or hurt (aside from critical crawler issues) the main domain. Thank you

Why does keyword fluctuate in Google - I.E rank 48 - 13 - not ranked
Hello, I would like some advice on Google ranking, my site sportingdesires had a few keywords rank and now their not ranked for those keywords. Am still in the process of on-page and am not too bothered about them ranking high, more of a curiosity I suppose. am not expecting them to reach any where near top due to tough competition. Am just starting from top of website down to individual products ( this will take about 10 years lol ) sorting out seo issues. then will concentrate on link building & content engagement maybe i over optimised the page take a look at AC Milan club shop for example Kindest Regards, ste

Google Indexing
Hi, We recently launched a new version of our site on the Magento platform. I submitted a new sitemap and on the first crawl only 7 pages out of 132 were indexed...a few days later and we now have 107 indexed (phew). My question is this....how on earth do i find out which pages are indexed and more importantly not indexed? For all i know they might be really important ones so I need to be able to identify the missing pages so i can work on getting them indexed. Nic

Why does Google show old title?
I made some changes to title tags on a clients site over a month ago. Google has since crawled all the pages that the changes were made to. Here's the problem. For some of the pages, the old title is still showing in search results. Why does Google do this? 2) What can I do about it?

Should I Remove This Subdirectory From Google?
On my site, I have a subdirectory. It posts articles from a bunch of websites that my readers are interested in & links back to all of those sites. There is no original content in it. There are over 1700 indexed pages in this subdirectory. The rest of my site has about 500 (all original content). The search engine traffic for this subdirectory only accounts for 3.9% of my sites overall visits. Should I consider removing this subdirectory? Could all the duplicate content be hurting the rankings of my legit pages? What do you all think?

Does a page's url have any weight in Google rankings?
I'm sure this question must have been asked before but I can't find it. I'm assuming that the title tag is far more important than the page's url. Is that correct? Does the url have any relevance to Google?
