Has anyone had problems with thier google maps page after the google plus intergration?
-
About a month ago Google contacted one of my clients to inform them that the Google places is discontinued and their Google plus page will be the new Google places. They gave my client an $100 adwards credit for adwords express so their location will still show up for their business name during the change from Google places to Google plus..
When you type in the business in a local area or on a GPS now.. It is no where to be found. You have to know the address to get directions or go there on a mobile devices.
The Google plus page for all of these locations is not currently showing up either.
I have contacted Google and Once again something has been released without implementing it correctly. No one seems to know what is going on... after talking to three people.
Does anybody know what is going on ???? This is a huge deal when being a local company.

Hi John,
I wonder if you will find your issue described in Mike Blumenthal's latest post:
There has been considerable fallout from the changeover to Google+ Local. Perhaps you will see your situation described in the above.

Yeah, I think in the last month there have been tons of problems going on with Google Local pages.
Previously people had just been creating + pages for their companies and now with the Places page turning into + pages, a lot of companies now have multiple + pages showing up on their website. This is hurting both Google+ and the new local pages.
I've seen this happen a lot in the last month and have had to work with a few clients as well on the issue. Hopefully in the next month or so, these issues will be addressed. -
I have sent you a private message with the details... Thanks for the reply!

Hey John, unfortunately, we could flip this question on it's head and ask, has anyone not had problems with the Google places Google Plus changes, in the UK at least.
The thing I am seeing though is that it seems to be settling down a bit and the duplicate google+ page that was created after our Google places page got shut down (and we already had a Google+ page) has been merged with my brand page so... it seems to be getting better.
Can you give an example? The business name or some such? Local is not my big area but happy to take a look and see if anything jumps out at me from the ones I have dealt with so far.

How Google decide reading time of a page?
Dear friends, I have a question. How google decide bounce rate? For an example- I open a website through organic keyword from Google. Now I have tab of landing page in browser I do not close this tab for 10 minutes and continue doing my other things after some time I come back on that tab and close. Can Google know? This page has been read till 10 minutes. Can Google decide the bounce rate for this session? If I do some click boost for my negative reviews can I do same thing in my website? Is it useful? If I open one tab and come back after one day than what happen? Silly question but confusing me so please help me. I will be very grateful to you! Thanks all

Gateway Pages
I have read that gateway pages are frowned upon by the search engines? If you have multiple domain names that are related to your main website what is the best way to get the greatest use from those related domain names? Thank-you.

Does anyone has experience with Q&A Sites in terms of SEO value?
I would like to increase mentions to my site and brand. I thought the Q&A sites might be useful here (like Yahoo Answers). Can anyone give me some tips where to go and what to do? I would be very happy about that 🙂

Brand Name searches: Low Click Through Rates in Google - What are your CTR in the SERPS for your Brandname?
Hello, Checking the Analytics part - Search Engine Optimization/ Queries - I found suprising results for my website: The website is no. 1 for my brand name but only has a 28% CTR on the brandname in the Google SERPS! Please see exactly what I mean here: http://screencast.com/t/GKjwliZ6GTF7 I'm looking for your experience of CTR of other websites in the same situation. Do you have similar low CTR? Some background info; The website is no1 for the brandname. Sitelinks are shown. Google Maps is shown on right. In the period are no adwords advertisments on my brand name as I know. I checked several times. I cant understand where 72% go after searching for my brandname. Thanks for sharing your experience. Best Regards Daria

Should I put my "brand" in every one of my posts / pages?
I've heard different thoughts on this and wanted to see what you the seomoz group thought. I have been leaving my "brand" out of my titles so I could create longer titles (without my "brand" taking up precious space.) I've also read that adding your brand can take away from the words you want to optimize for in the title / post. I've read other places that you want your brand in every page title to "strengthen" your brand. Long story short, I'm trying to figure out if I should add my brand to the my page / post titiles, or leave them as is. Feel free to check out my site and current title template if you'd like. Thanks!

Google Places Pending for months..
We are a franchise with over 80 locations. We have bulk uploaded all our places pages and all but 15 of them have been approved...this was over 2 months ago!!! Any idea why the final 15 will not stop "Pending Review"?? Google has been no help!(of course) It seems the information is correct across Yelp! CitySearch, and Yahoo Local... Any ideas?
