Pr web help

I am interested doing a press release with PRweb but for the price I wanted to know if there is a way to see if your press release has been picked up by other news sources. is there a way to track people that pick up your release and provide a backlink?
-
Robert, thank you for your reply.
-
We send out a bunch per month thru prweb we pay something like $200 each and we have in house writers that do the writing for us.

Great Fence,
I am going to remain calm here and simply say, No.
I have looked at them and I just cannot wrap my head around the massive outpouring or the content issues. Too many of both PRWeb and PRNewswire releases are amateurish and that cannot be ameliorated by the fact they can run it out on AP or have a list of 6,000,000,000 places they send it to.
Think about this: look at the releases of others and you will see what bad is. If you are going to do this, make sure you write something that is more than your company name and a retweet of someone's retweet of retweet about some event.
We have our own copywriters, train them weekly, keep them abreast, watch as their quality content is stolen by also rans...think news services, people that Huff, etc. The issue today is not simply creating content with your company name attached to it to get links, it is about creating quality content that no one else created and that someone wants.
These companies make a lot of money on people who are looking for an easy way out. There isn't one. Sorry,
Hope it helps,
Also, I would suggest you go to AP and see what you can do with them. As an AP member, you can use their content and they can use yours and the prices are less. You won't necessarily have the outlet but there are ways.

I just received a quote from PRWEB. Over $7K for 1 - 2 press releases per month for a 12 month period including their VOCUS consulting services which assists you in writing each release (4 hours/month).
Does that sound like a good investment for SEO and Link Building?
-
Yes, no question. It's the major leagues compared to minors as far as the quality and reach. However, I'll qualify that with this: I don't believe in sending out releases just to get links; I think there has to be news value (as these releases are actually sent to media outlets and they don't like their time wasted) so I'd rather pay the premium for better reach and reporting. BusinessWire also has great options. The rest out there I've never had the same kind of impact with.
-
so are you saying you've had better results with prnewswire than prweb?
-
Part of PR Web's price point includes (in my experience) how much detailed reporting you get. They should give you something; I will say that even though the initial cost is more, the best analytics I have gotten came from PR Newswire. And I also go a way broader scope of coverage that most can't match. However cost always plays a factor in these decisions.
They should share with you a sample of what reporting you'll get so you can see how comprehensive it is.
Keep in mind that there's a difference in being picked up and just getting a list of websites the release appears on. That's all part of their agreement with news outlets; getting your release re-posted on dozens of sites doesn't have the same "oomph" as a real news outlet opting to run it (you can usually tell the different because it's not a verbatim rehash of what's exactly in your release but rather a more edited version of the content). So, part of it also depends on what you want: a bunch of links or Web postings or real news coverage. Those have two very different intents.
-
Yes they show all sites you send out to and which pick it up with links.
If you do alot you can get it cheaper going thru vocus the parent company.
-
ask PRweb if they provide a report, i think PRnewswire does.
you can easily see sites that pick up your release in Google though by searching for the exact title in quotes
since it is unique to the web you'll only get results that match your unique title

I need help: Website has dropped and I dont know how to bring it back
Hi All, So my website has dropped now to page 12, I have no idea why, I've tried myself to bring it back and I have also tried a few £1000 at outsourcing the SEO which has had no affect. There are no penalties in webmaster tools but I personally think something the algo doesn't like is holding it back - I could be wrong. I think this because some of the results higher than me are a lot worse, hold little to no content and there backlink profiles have no links, some are even 1 page new domains that have been live for as little as a month ranking a lot higher than me. At one point I was ranking page1, position4 for the term 'bank holidays' and now I don't rank anywhere. What's weird is if you search 'bankholidays' as one word I appear in that position. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on? Problem page: followuk.co.uk/bank-holidays - GoogleUK search. I need some help please.

Link building external trusted help out there?
Hi there guys and Girls, I am a newbie to the seo world but learning quickly. Unhappy with seo services offered for startups I have taken on the role myself for my website. I think so much of what can be learnt online here I can implement myself with a few hours of work each week. So my dilemma! I have lots of ideas of for content which i know will be valuable and I was considering outsourcing just for link building (the long haul work) The trouble is I am wary of who to use and if such service is out there? I have tried searching on o'desk and freelancer etc but I guess i am too frightened of spammy links or postings on irrelevant sites. I guess initially I am looking for someone who can help my link building campaign whilst I build up my own blogging contacts etc. Does anyone know if these types of services exist? and if any are recommended for small companies? Thanks Michelle

Why do hallmarks from web design companies carry so much ranking weight for the recipient website?
Website designers/developers place hallmarks (Website Designed by XXXX) in the footer region of the web sites they have designed/built, how much ranking value do these hallmarks have being that they're pointing from sites that are irrelevant to the web designer's, and why?

Web Designers and SEOs using backlinks from client sites
What are your thoughts on SEOs and web designers putting their own links in the footers of client sites. For the sake of argument, lets assume that the client is happy for the link to be there. I'm referring to the SEO merits of the link being there from an 'irrelevant' website. My belief is that this goes against what Google is looking for and that these are irrelevant links and likely to be picked up and penalised. That's what I believe! However, I see lots of sites offering SEO services that have dofollow links from their client sites, using exact match anchor text and they are all ranking highly. Is it just a matter of time before Google sniffs them out and penalises them for it? Or should I be going through my client sites and adding myself a dofollow link in the footer? (with their permission of course). The highest ranking sites in any UK city do this. If you search SEO Manchester, SEO Leeds etc and find the top ranking sites and check them out on opensite explorer, they are all using a disproportionate amount of dofollow backlinks form client sites.

PR web anchor text
We are submitting a press release today for a contest we are doing and it is actually news worth compared to a lot of things on PR web. Our question is PRweb.com still worth using? If we use them should we put an anchor text in it? We have one link to our home page and one to the contest page and we were going to have one link to a different page. But will linking to the third page with an anchor text be to much?

SEOs and web developers frequently leave links to their site in the footer of their clients' sites. Does this negatively impact the site with the links?
Does this provide any SEO value to the receiving site? Has anyone experienced problems doing this?
