How much do you pay for a 300+ word blog article?
-
I am considering outsourcing some of the blog writing and would like to get some idea of what is a reasonable amount to pay someone for writing say a 300-350 word article?
Also any recommendations on where to find good writers? Thanks!

Yes please Francisco..I would appreciate the referral.

oDesk is my recommendation as well, but you should always ask for a sample of writing before hiring anyone. I also specify 'English speaking' in the job title. For a safe option you should take the referral from Francisco, good price and recommended.
If you are wanting to save some monies you could always write it yourself and just have a SEO copywriter polish it up for you.

Find an author on oDesk and give them continuous work. I have found really good mom bloggers who will work for $12/hr on an "as needed" basis. Let me know if you want her info. She has a degree in journalism.

We find that general topics, like pop music or celebrity news, start at around 2.5 cents per word for good quality. You can certainly find cheaper writers, but you run the risk of blog posts with grammatical errors and weak argumentation.
The more in-depth or technical the content needs to be, the more expensive it will become. Legal writing specialists, for example, charge much higher rates.
With more than 100,000 US-based authors, we can help with whatever niche you may need.

It really depends on level of writing you can find people who do it for $10 and some who charge $250 depending on how good they write and their knowledge.

How to promote your blog content
Hi there, we've been blogging for a while now. Some of our content ranks quit well, other posts don't seem to be ranking at all. The weird thing (I think it's weird...) is that we recently published a post and focussed on a phrase that competes with over 400 million indexed pages, and after 3 weeks we're on page 3, and for other posts with only 2.5 million indexed pages we rank past page 5 (ok, this post is already 1,5 year old, does this matter?). To give you some background info, we moved our blog in January in a new subdomain, and redirected the old url's, but didn't actively promote the old posts. Would promoting the old articles through social media help us boost the rankings for these articles (the articles are "best practices", "how-to's", ...). Where / how do you promote your content after you published it on your blog? I find it hard posting in LinkedIn groups related to finance while I have the "online marketing manager" title on my profile. Why would a finance professional read an article shared by a marketing dude? As LinkedIn's API doensn't allow to post into groups anymore, do you actually go through all your relevant groups every time you publish a new blog to share the article?

Can I post my MailChimp articles on my blog without getting hit for duplicate content?
I would like to post my newsletters on my blog, but am afraid of duplicate content since you can click a link on the MailChimp email blast to view the Newsletter online. Is this considered dup content?

Authorship for Company Blog -- What if Employee Leaves?
This question has been sort of asked before but I haven't found any concrete answers. We've never really had a consistent author on our company blog. We had an internal employee writing, and then we outsourced for a bit, and now we're moving back to an internal writer. With all the transientness of our authors, who should we be using for authorship? If the new writer leaves our company, they take all their AuthorRank with them. Would it make sense to post all content under one of the founders or maybe even a fictitious employee? Edit: Orrrr do we get the new author to create a separate G+ Profile tied to their company email address that we can retain control over even if they leave?

Rel = Canonical in Blog Posting
Hello, I'm getting a lot of Seomoz warnings about rel=canonical issues. Is the code below ok to put on our (drupal website) blog? link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/blog/my-awesome-blog-post"< (with the > reversed). Thanks!

Best places to get pictures for blog posts?
Well I'm really sick of reading people questions saying "help my sites been affected by penguin" So I thought I would ask something about blogging, where is the best place to find and buy pictures for blog posts? I already use Wikimedia commons. But I'm interested websites that have a bigger range that aren't too pricey. What do you recommend?

2,500 Word blog post? What's your advice?
Most of my blog posts end up being 400-600 words, sometimes more, sometimes less. I have written one that is 2,500 words this time. If it were you, would you make one huge post, or split it into two or three? Or would you say it wholly depends on my site and the type of content? As far as link bait goes, one page is better . . . I guess. But would anyone ever read a 2,500 word blog post, even it it's about a subject he/she is interested in? Additionally, what's better for SEO? Just wants some second opinions. Thanks!
