404 errors, but not showing in Google analytics
-
In my SEOmoz errors there are over a dozen 404 errors listed. However, they are not showing up in Google analytics. How can I find the referring url for the ones showing up here?
-
Yes, I figured it out now. (duh). thanks!
It is curious that Google web tools didn't pick those up.
-
HI Keri,
I see now... Thank you for helping!
-
HI Keri,
I just tried that and a lot greater list comes up than the 20 or so 404 errors. And I really am unable to determine what the referring url is from the csv list.
Kindly,
Sarah
-
Hi! If you download the CSV of your errors, it will tell you the referring URL.
-
Just use a crawler like Screaming Frog, crawl your website and see if you see any errors / 404s that you are linking to. And you can identify what all pages link to it.
I hope this helps.

I went into Crawl Diagnostics and chose Issues 4xx and got a few pages. Does that not work?

Traffic from Google analytics compared to traffic in Moz, quick question.....
When I look at the campaign for my website in MOZ it shows me my 'organic search visits' are radically different than when I look at Google analytics. In Moz I have 10 visits the week of 10/24 but using 'visits' in Google analytics I have 320 visits the same week. In Moz I have 20 visits the week of 11/1 (following the gold total line) but according to Google I have almost 500 visits that week. I just totally redid my site (www.sawwebmarketing.com) and posted a bunch of new content and looking to see what it did to my traffic and according to Google my visits have fallen dramatically but according to Moz my 'organic search visits' have multiplied by 6. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Matthew

Moz Pro vs. Moz Analytics
Beta version has been out for awhile. Curious to know what people think of Moz Analytics. Personally, I'm having a hard time making the switch from Pro to Moz Analytics because I'm so used to the navigation and layout of Pro. What does everyone else think of the new Moz Analytics? Advantages? Disadvantages?

404 Errors generating in WP
Our crawl reports are generating back several 404 errors for pages with urls that look like: /category/consulting/page/5/ The tag changes, the page number changes, but the result is always the same: A big glaring 404. Our sites are built on WordPress Multi-site, and I am fairly certain this issue is on the WP end, but I can't figure out why it is generating pages out to infinity, essentially, from the tags and categories. It is worse on some sites than others, but is happening across the board (my initial concern was that it might be a theme issue, but that does not seem to be the case). If anyone has run into this issue and knows a fix, you're insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Moz vs google data conflict?
Hi there, I am doing an SEO site audit for a client(giveaway, and here is the problem: when performing site:domain.com on google --> 13,800 pages were found When I see this number it seems to be a bit too much compare to the links i checked on integrity(link check for broken links) which gave me a result of 1291. I digged in more into the Google results and saw hundreds(maybe thousands) of pages that are blocked by robots.txt. So I am thinking, ok this is it, thousands of pages can't be crawled by the search engines. Here is the big BUT though, then I check at my moz crawl (see attachment) and no pages are blocked by the SEs, and then look at the dups, only 23 recorded?? Is Moz not crawling properly the 13,800 results that google finds or is this some magical phenomenon happening here? I am really confused here that is why I need some help here! Thank you guys! No internal links showing up in OpenSiteExplorer report
Hi there A simple one. I was just looking at our site in opensiteexplorer and notice that it says we have no internal links at all: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s244/sh/dd8cc88f-fee4-4ba2-8ec0-f3f8d5c408db/8d3fc3d2aa6fc9d5406051bc91731402 Rather odd as we do. Is this a bug with OSE that anyone knows about or something else? Any ideas / thoughts gratefully received.

Are the SEOMoz queries banned by Google?
Hi: In our company, we have notified that Google is banning our IP due to massive queries under the same IP. It is caused mainly by local softwares installed in PCs or some plugins of Firefox. We think that SEOmoz don´t causes this due to its tool uses its own IP and servers, not ours. We would like your opinion about this. Thank you,

Errors on my Crawl Diagnostics
I have 51 errors on my Crawl Diagnostics tool.46 are 4xx Client Error. Those 4xx errors are links to products (or categories) that we are not selling them any more so there are inactive on the website but Google still have the links. How can I tell Google not to index them?. Can those errors (and warnings) could be harming my rankings (they went down from position 1 to 4 for the most important keywords) thanks,
