Does having our products on Amazon or EBay help with our SEO ranking?
-
We have an ecommerce web site, which ranks ok , but we are trying to build up our SEO scores. We're looking at links and were wondering if having our products listed on either Amazon or Ebay (or both) will actually help with ranking of our site? We sometimes have products listed on ebay with a reference to the higher price that the item is selling for on our main site. Thank you.

Here is my experience...
Client runs a large ecommerce site and also creates a feed that is used for the Amazon listings.
When title on ecommerce site = title on amazon, only the amazon listing ranks (images and product descriptions are the same)
When title on ecommerce site is slightly different than title on amazon (e.g. "brand model t-shirt" vs "brand men's model t-shirt"), both of the pages rank in search.
So titles MUST be different in all channels, images/descriptions should be different, but not nearly as important. If you have a handful of products, I'd invest the time in creating several variations of the descriptions/images. If you have thousands, you are better off spending your resources elsewhere.

Thanks for the response. We do indeed already supply our products to both the sites, and we do get sufficient incremental sales. However, we have had some mixed / conflicting guidance as to wether we should use the same product names or images on all sites (our e-commerce, amazon, ebay and even the high street retailers where we list our products). We are considering investing in a different set of images and changing the product names for each channel, but we are unclear if this will benefit our SEO. What would the advise be on this, if any?
Thank you.

I'm sure Google gives special treatment to those websites so we can't be too sure. However, what you should be asking is if listing your products in Amazon and Ebay will lead to more sales/ROI. If yes, do it.
Be sure to use slightly different keywords/titles for your listings so they don't come up as duplicates so that all 3 show up in search results. At the very least, your product will gain more exposure, drive more traffic to your site and open up more opportunities for natural backlinks.

SEO in multiple languages
I'm doing SEO for an apartment rental web-site. We have one web-site for each destination. And for some (popular) destinations we have a separate domain for some languages. For instance: http://www.barcelonacheckin.com/en for English and http://www.barcelonacheckin.com/fr for French In another destination we have http://costabrava-ok-apartment.com/en for English and http://www.location-costabrava.fr/ for French. We have good result with the separate domains for languages. But I'm facing two problems: We do not get any progress in the ranks in English in any Web-site There's a lot written about SEO in English and there are many opportunities to build relevant links. But we are out of sources for eg. French. Our SEO routine exists of participating in forums on famous travel web-sites, guest post exchange with our blogs, link exchange and presence in Social media. Can anybody give us some suggestions?

Sites Ranked Again - Post Penguin SEO Help
Got destroyed by Penguin because of questionable links. I had most of the links removed and my sites have been restored for the most part - though lower than they previously ranking for keywords. What is the best SEO strategy to move up in rank? Link Building strategy? Is there a penalty for domains that have keywords in them?

Best way to get more keywords to rank
I have a flash site and have been very successful at getting my keywords that are in my site title and also in the text of my page to rank well. What is the best way to get additional keywords to rank without increasing the text on your page. Is it just getting more anchor-text backlinks pointing your site with the new keywords in the text?

Question to SEO experts about backlink tracking
Hi, could you recommend the best tool that you use to keep track of all the backlinks you have. I'd imaging there is a good software or website which lists all your backlinks with all relevant info for each link (PR of the linking site, authority level etc) thanks in advance for sharing.

Photography Site ranking!
Hi I am working on a photography site: www.daffodilwaves.co.uk now there isn't many pages nor is the that much text. However you will see that they have a blog (poorly designed one which we are addressing) Now blog posts I feel can be really good as there is generally alot of naturally written text which I don't feel I need to influence. Also generally people will comment so I also believe that is good for rankings too. However I find that the blog ranks higher than the actual website and I dont want that to occur the website is the one that generates the bookings. So can you give me some ideas to transfer the ranking from the blog to the website? I was thinking that within the article I could simply link back to the homepage - would you think that is a good idea? If so would you suggest I use particular anchor text? such as "Wedding Photographer" or "Comtemporary wedding Photographer" Thanks
