My Website [www.calculatorcentral.com](link url) shows a spam score of 39% but I can't find any bad backlinks of my website. Does anyone know when MOZ updates the spam score?

I'm encountering a similar problem with my website, prayerfulsoul.com. Despite diligently removing any links to non-reputable sites from every post, the spam score remains at 10%. I'm uncertain about the frequency of rescans and record updates, as there hasn't been a noticeable change in over a year despite my continuous efforts.

We are trying our best to reduce the spam score. We need some backlinks from trusted sites with authority.
-
As of my experience in SEO first of all it's better to get the full list of backlinks that are associated to your website, whether they are do-follow or no-follow or any other type of link. Then analyze the domain they are connected to and check the relevancy of the domain with your website, on top of that you can segregate the domains having higher spam score and low DA, these domains are affecting your domain the most. Then after making a proper analysis from the data of your website's backlink you'll get a clear image of which links are harming your website and then disavow these links and domain from Google Search Console.
Hope this will help you.

@dv123569 As far as I can remember the MOZ explanations, the SS can be caused by a NUMBER in your domain name. If you think about it, it is very rare that big websites have a number like 2 or 9 in their domain name. Another reason is the number of high SS sites linking to yours.

Simplify the improvement of your site by disavowing any unfavorable backlinks.
Over the next few months, you should observe a reduction in your spam score. It's essential to understand that Spam Score and Domain Authority (DA) don't have a direct impact on your site's ranking or position in Google.
These metrics mainly serve as tools used by Moz to evaluate website development and quality.

The spam score increases if the links are from only a few domains. This means that the site has low link diversity, thus increasing its chances of being flagged as a spammy website. You can always avoid this by ensuring that all your links are connected to similar numbers of domains.

And I suffered the same!
what happened?
We have had dead backlinks for over 3-4 years, and I have contacted moz to somehow update the link profile, in addition to this, we also see links from other domains, links that have nothing to do with this site.
In revenge for being criticized, the people from moz lowered our authority, they increased the spam score from 17% to 28%, after a recontact or annoyed and within 7 days they increased the spam score to 81%. they updated to 28% on 01/12/2023 and the second manually imposed out of revenge on 07/12/2023. whenever they were contacted, they responded brutally. that it is a spam score because it has the digit field in it. I explained that the domain has numbers in it for over 7 years and there were no problems. These scores only appear on moz, imposed manually. but it denigrates.
In addition to this, as a difficult answer, it does not solve anything. I have given similar sites with numbers in the field, sites without linked in, without Google tag, without mail, etc. I don't care, it's their error.
I arrogantly tell you to read the spam signal writings. I've been reading them for 15 years, even if they're aberrant, they can't even explain how something like this happened within a few days, 2 changes. such obscenity on the part of an employee, you see.
If you show them that they were wrong, they will take revenge.
we have a link on a site that is still being seen by moz.
the problem is that that site has not been working for 4-5 years. if you tell them this, they arrogantly answer that if the crewlers see it, it means it exists. even if it doesn't exist. I made a profile of links to my website of over 100 pieces with a minimum of 50, and within 6 months, one of the 100 appeared on moz. that's how well their systems went, otherwise those links from google and the rest of the seo companies are seen. Attention, moz is no longer reliable, does not update regularly, does not accept complaints. I don't care if it denigrates or discriminates. even if it's their fault!
It seems strange to them too and a manager will do checks, it has not yet happened that a manager takes into account such a thing. and wait 3 months until it is updated. the one that is an aberration because if it is installed manually, it will have a brake, it will not be updated even in 6 months. there are still cases on the moz, so don't expect miracles from the moz employees because some are arrogant and unprepared.
It is important to immediately report Google and other companies to show them the error committed by moz. so that they can check it quickly so that they don't get caught up in having problems.
The fake spam score from moz does not affect your seo at all. but it affects the image that many are looking for yes.
Probably those at al moz will censor this topic.
Check your backlinks and check when the sites you have links to no longer exist and you will notice that moz does not update them at all, you will have broken links for 1-2 years and moz sees them continuously even if they do not exist, if you write to tell them that those links do not exist, they will get angry that you are consuming their time and will attack you with manual metrics.
to update twice in the same month and from the 28th to the 81st is abnormal. -

Why does my infographic rank better on other websites than my own?
I recently created an infographic that was quite popular in my niche and a lot of people linked to it and embedded it on their own sites. Now, if you search the term I was trying to rank for, everybody who linked to me ranks higher than the page that everyone is linking to and it's the page where the original graphic was posted. According to SEOmoz, I have the highest Domain and Page Authority than everyone else in front of me. How the hell is this possible? If you want to see for yourself, just type in "hot tub yoga" into Google and I'm on the second page, http://www.swimuniversity.com/blog/hot-tub-yoga-infographic I would love some help on this and I thank you all in advance.

Linkbuilding strategy for website development firm... some questions...
Hi there: I own a website development and internet marketing business. We began providing onpage optimization as a natural extension of our website design services for our clients. I'm now personally working on the backlinks for our site, and I have a question for someone with more insight than I currently possess: You folks are probably aware that many web design agencies post footer links in their client's site, with some sort of anchor text to the effect of "website designed by Blankety Blank..." I've read that these types of sitewide footer links are probably a wash, in terms of linkbuilding value. (Thoughts anyone?) My best sense is that they help a little, but not a lot. Which led me to my next stratagem, which I'd like some feedback on the merits of... I'm thinking of offering my clients a slight price reduction in exchange for a dedicated page on their site for attribution. It wouldn't be pure self-promotion in nature; really just a brief description of tools used to build the site and a backlink. It could be part of a pre-existing "partners" page on the site, if client has one, currently. (Some of ours do...) The net result of this would be a single backlink from the main body content of client's page. Is this a smart move? I'm wondering what others think...

Competitor ranking through SPAM
We have a competitor called SwitchWise who has done a whole heap of social bookmarking and article marketing, using a deceptive link with anchor text reading "i select electricity" which has got them ranking #2 in Australia for the term iselect (a big comparison company here in Aus). The articles are low value, the link is deceptive and it is generally bad for the consumer. I could copy their tactics for my client, but I'm concerned about the links eventually being devalued and the company placed in the sin bin. What is the best course of action as I really don't want to let them get away with this, either we need to be up there, or alternative we need to dislodge them. p.s I know this is not a great keyword, but it's more about stakeholder management in terms of what my client sees and how they interpret what we are doing relative to their competitors.
