Reducing a high spam score on your website, like the 22% spam score you mentioned for https://seoslogs.com, requires a multi-faceted approach. Here's a concise plan to help improve your website's reputation:
Review Content: Ensure your website contains high-quality, original, and valuable content. Remove or rewrite any low-quality or duplicate content.
Check for Malware: Regularly scan your website for malware and remove any malicious code or links that may be causing the high spam score.
Backlinks Audit: Examine your backlink profile and disavow any toxic or spammy backlinks using Google's Disavow Tool. Aim to build high-quality, relevant backlinks.
Optimize On-Page SEO: Improve on-page SEO by optimizing title tags, meta descriptions, and header tags. Ensure your website's structure is search engine friendly.
User Experience: Enhance user experience by optimizing website speed, mobile-friendliness, and navigation. Make sure your website is easy to use and access.
Security: Secure your website with an SSL certificate and implement security measures to prevent hacking and spam injections.
Engage on Social Media: Actively engage on social media platforms to build a positive online presence and reputation.
Dispute False Positives: Some spam score providers may flag legitimate websites. If you believe the score is unjustified, contact the provider to resolve the issue.
Regular Monitoring: Continuously monitor your website's performance and spam score. Make improvements as needed to maintain a clean online reputation.
Seek Professional Help: If your spam score remains high, consider consulting with SEO experts who can conduct a thorough audit and provide tailored solutions.

- Check for Malware and Hacking
- Avoid keyword stuffing, plagiarism, and low-quality content.

Sharing some information about how to reduce your spam score.
However, Keep in mind. Spam score is not a Google ranking factor.
Search engines such as Google basically just ignore bad links and dont count them.
-
@Gkpmart It's not a concern. Spam score is misunderstood and most don't know why or how it's used or what its actually indicating.
Just ignore it and keep building good links and creating good content.
-
@maryjohnomni Forgot about the SPAM score. You don't need this type of metric for what you are actually doing.
Just focus on building good links and crating good content.
-
@SagarKoushik Not correct. No one knows Googles Algos' Second of all. Google automatically ignores bad links instead of giving penalty
-
@Alonsofrederick No reason to worry. Spam score is not connected to SERP in anyway. It's not an issue.

You can simply disavow the spammy links. I have done same for my website https://electronicsguruji.com . Hopefully, it will resolve the issue.
-
Simplify the process by disavowing all the unfavorable backlinks to your site. After a few months, you'll likely see a decrease in your spam score. It's important to note that Spam Score and Domain Authority (DA) don't directly impact your site's ranking or standing in Google. They primarily serve as metrics used by Moz to assess website development and quality.

Reducing the spam score of a website is essential for maintaining a good online reputation and improving search engine rankings. Here are some steps you can take to lower the spam score of your website:
Identify Spammy Elements:
Begin by conducting a thorough audit of your website to identify any elements that may contribute to a high spam score. This could include suspicious backlinks, low-quality content, or any other factors that trigger spam signals.
Remove or Disavow Spammy Backlinks:
Use tools like Google Search Console to identify and disavow toxic or spammy backlinks. Reach out to webmasters to request removal of harmful links when possible.
Improve Content Quality:
Ensure that your website's content is high-quality, relevant, and free from keyword stuffing or plagiarism. Regularly update and refresh your content to keep it valuable to users.
Check for Malware and Security Issues:
Regularly scan your website for malware and security vulnerabilities. Ensure that your website is secure with HTTPS and that you have robust security measures in place.
Optimize On-Page SEO:
Pay attention to on-page SEO elements, including meta tags, headings, and keyword usage. Optimize these elements to align with best practices.
Engage in White-Hat Link Building:

Improve User Experience:

Monitor Social Signals:
Keep an eye on social media mentions and signals related to your website. Engage positively with your audience and address any negative feedback or spammy mentions promptly.
Regularly Update and Maintain Your Website:
Continuously update your website with fresh content and keep all plugins, themes, and CMS software up to date. Outdated software can be vulnerable to security breaches.
Submit a Reconsideration Request:
If you've made significant improvements and addressed spammy elements, consider submitting a reconsideration request to search engines like Google, explaining the steps you've taken to reduce the spam score.
Use Spam Score Tools:
Utilize online tools and services that provide spam score analysis. These tools can help you monitor your progress and identify areas that still need improvement.
Remember that reducing the spam score of a website is an ongoing process. It may take some time for search engines to recognize the improvements you've made. Consistency and a commitment to following best SEO practices are key to maintaining a low spam score and ensuring a positive online presence.

Reducing the spam score of a website is essential to maintain a good reputation, improve search engine rankings, and ensure a positive user experience. Spammy websites can be penalized by search engines, leading to lower organic traffic and trust issues with visitors. Here are some steps to reduce the spam score of your website:
1. Identify the Source of Spam
Before you can reduce your website's spam score, you need to identify the source of the issue. Analyze your website for spammy elements, such as low-quality backlinks, malicious code, or content violations.
2. Conduct a Backlink Audit
High spam score is often associated with low-quality backlinks. Use tools like Google Search Console, Moz, Ahrefs, or SEMrush to identify and analyze your website's backlink profile.
Disavow spammy or irrelevant backlinks by submitting a disavow file to Google through Google Search Console.

3. Remove or Disavow Low-Quality BacklinksReach out to webmasters of websites linking to your site and request the removal of spammy or irrelevant links.
Create a disavow file containing the URLs of unwanted or harmful backlinks and submit it to Google. This tells search engines to ignore those links.
4. Improve Content Quality
Ensure that your website's content is original, valuable, and free from duplicate or scraped content. High-quality content can reduce your website's spamminess.
5. Monitor User-Generated Content
If your website allows user-generated content, closely monitor it to prevent spammy submissions. Implement CAPTCHAs or moderation systems to filter out spam.
6. Enhance Security Measures
Protect your website from malware, hacking attempts, and other security threats that may increase your spam score.
Regularly update and patch your website's CMS, plugins, and themes to minimize vulnerabilities.7. Check for Cloaking or Hidden Text
Ensure that your website does not employ tactics like cloaking (showing different content to search engines and users) or hidden text meant to manipulate search rankings.
8. Avoid Keyword Stuffing
Use keywords naturally in your content, titles, and meta tags. Avoid overusing keywords, as keyword stuffing can increase your spam score.
9. Monitor for Negative SEO
Be vigilant about potential negative SEO attacks, where competitors may try to harm your site's reputation by creating spammy backlinks. Regularly check your backlink profile for unusual patterns.
10. Submit a Reconsideration Request (If Penalized)
If your website has been penalized by a search engine, you may need to submit a reconsideration request once you've addressed the issues. Provide evidence of the steps you've taken to rectify the problems.
11. Use Spam Score Checkers
Tools like Moz's Spam Score, SEMrush's Toxic Score, or other spam score checkers can help you track and monitor your website's spam score over time.
12. Regularly Review and Update
Reducing a website's spam score is an ongoing process. Continuously monitor your site's health and make necessary adjustments to maintain a clean and reputable online presence.
Remember that it may take time to see improvements in your website's spam score, and consistent efforts are required to maintain a positive online reputation. Regularly reviewing your website's performance and staying updated on best practices in SEO and web security will help keep your spam score in check.

I'm facing the same problem, just bought an expired domain. At first the spam score is 0%, after some work in it, suddenly the spam score increase to 61% https://thestreaming.net/
Luckily, the other one is fine https://professorkayo.com/ -
@wheatandfire pardon me for need your advice. Unfortunately a week ago i was in rush bought this expired domain https://freewebtemplates.com which i didnt check past content from web archive which actually used to be porn site.
Should i use it for moneysite? Anything i can do to "stabilize" spam score due to porn site on the past?
-
@Domain-Matty I would add they will not add to your SERP ranking directly but they will help to validate things like NAP, indicators and local search even spammy links can add boost to those areas.
-
@ariahutton Google has said over and over you do not need to "clean up" your backlinks it is a waste of your day ...
-
@wheatandfire Unless I should say you have put your keywords in or around the link and paid for that link or created it yourself maybe just maybe but probably 98% chance of not going to affect you ... good or bad ...
-
@offilery Google has stated over and over and over again you do not need to worry about spam and creating a disavow file is not needed go look at how many horrible backlinks any D60+ website has they would have to refresh their disavow every week ... people wake up lol
-
@SDavid088 Don't waste your time. Did you read the very first post (down the bottom) of this page?
Just ignore the spam score and focus and building new quality links.
Google does not count bad links. It totally ignores them. Some of those links that you think might be nad could actually be having a postive effect on your website.

@aneesc said in How to Reduce the spam score of the website?:
Good day, I have a site https://smartplumbing.co.za/ that is ranking high on the spam score (83%) and would like to decrease it. It is an old domain that I purchased so the previous owners done some bad back links on this domain.
Improving the spam score of a website can be a crucial step in maintaining its reputation and visibility. While I can offer some general advice on reducing spam scores, please note that specific steps may vary depending on the nature of the spammy backlinks and the website itself. It is recommended to consult with an SEO professional for a comprehensive analysis and tailored solutions. Here are a few general strategies you can consider:
Backlink audit: Perform a thorough backlink audit to identify the spammy links pointing to your website. Tools like Google Search Console, Moz, or Ahrefs can help you identify and analyze your backlink profile.
Remove or disavow bad links: Reach out to webmasters of websites hosting the spammy backlinks and request removal. If direct removal is not possible, use Google's Disavow Tool to disavow those links. This signals to search engines that you don't endorse or want to be associated with those links.
Content optimization: Focus on creating high-quality, original, and relevant content that provides value to your users. By delivering valuable content, you can attract natural and authoritative backlinks, which can positively impact your website's overall SEO.
Internal linking and site structure: Optimize your website's internal linking structure to ensure a logical and user-friendly navigation experience. This can help search engines crawl and understand your site better.
Social media presence: Develop an active and engaging presence on relevant social media platforms. By sharing valuable content and interacting with your audience, you can enhance your online reputation and potentially attract organic traffic and natural backlinks.
Monitor and maintain: Regularly monitor your website's backlink profile and spam score using SEO tools. Continuously evaluate new backlinks and take necessary action to address any potential spammy links.
Remember, improving the spam score of a website takes time, effort, and consistent monitoring. It's important to focus on providing value to users and following ethical SEO practices to build a strong online presence.

Spam links in spam analyses tool: Referral page doesn't exist anymore
Hi, I have the following problem: The spam analyses tool in MOZ gives me a few links with a spam score of 10 and 9. I want to remove those links and try to contact the webmaster before disavowing the links. I read about being careful with too much disavowing. Unfortunately removing the links isn't possible because three different reasons: The page/subdomain of one referring website that should have a link to my website doesn't exist anmymore (compliance.ikkiesvoorverandering.nl/). The website http://ikkiesvoorverandering.nl does exist, but is almost empty and there is no possibility to contact the webmaster. What do you guys recommend to do in this situation? Any experience with this problem? On another website (with again no contact option) there is a link who directs to a former website, which has a redirect to my current website. I have no Google search console on that old website anymore. Does that make it impossible to disavow the link? What are other option to remove this link? The website that comes up in the spam analyses tool is pretty much empty (http://veensma.jouwbegin.nl/). How can I delete a link from an empty website? Any thoughts? I hope someone can help me with this, Would be glad to here from you 🙂 Lars

I need help: Website has dropped and I dont know how to bring it back
Hi All, So my website has dropped now to page 12, I have no idea why, I've tried myself to bring it back and I have also tried a few £1000 at outsourcing the SEO which has had no affect. There are no penalties in webmaster tools but I personally think something the algo doesn't like is holding it back - I could be wrong. I think this because some of the results higher than me are a lot worse, hold little to no content and there backlink profiles have no links, some are even 1 page new domains that have been live for as little as a month ranking a lot higher than me. At one point I was ranking page1, position4 for the term 'bank holidays' and now I don't rank anywhere. What's weird is if you search 'bankholidays' as one word I appear in that position. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on? Problem page: followuk.co.uk/bank-holidays - GoogleUK search. I need some help please.

We had a blog that has been inactive since 2011\. Now since the website is redesigned and we are working on link building, is it advisable to use the old blog content in the new blog?
The content of the old blog belongs to the company, hence no issues of copied content. The options I have are: 1. Use old content as is 2. Re-use old content in more interesting format i.e use info-graphics and the likes 3. Do not use any of the old content. Create new content

Does Website Design Matter?
I've got a new site officially launching next month (just waiting on a few inner page designs to be finished up). But if I'm looking to get a head start on backlinks, would it be okay to start publishing content now on one of the default WordPress themes? And then start publishing guest posts immediately to get backlinks? Or would Google look at the site as not being unique?

Will redirecting 250 linking domains to a new website from an old website freak Google out?
Prior to my accepting a project, the client decided to change the name of their company and purchased a new domain name to match. They hired a designer to build their new company site which has now been up and running for a little under 12 months. Up to this point they have done a good job of slowly redirecting small handfuls of linking domains from the old site to the new. They want to make one last push and point the remaining 250 linking domains from their old site to their new site. Will redirecting 250 linking domains to a new website from an old website freak Google out? If so, how many domains should be redirected at one time? My main concern is not wanting to upset Google and see the floor fall out on current keyword rankings, domain authority and page rank, etc.
