Would you launch a paid search campaign with 'Exact Match' only keywords
-
Hi Mozzers,
I'm building a new campaign for a business start-up, and search volumes with the industry are HUGE! I want to target high commercial intent keywords, to maximise the number of conversions / sales from my paid search campaigns.
Using the forecasting tool in Adwords, it looks like I can [exact match] these high commercial intent keywords and still get the click volume I'm aiming for.
Would you, therefore, use this approach - where you only match at an exact level to control the quality of traffic coming through from the paid search campaigns? I plan to achieve relevance by having ad groups broken down into clear themes with around 10 - 15 exact match keywords per ad group.
Let me know your thoughts...
Thanks!

Hello,
Just saw this and wanted to chime in! I agree with Alick300 about exact match keywords, especially for accounts with extremely high search volume. However, I believe adding a few modified broad or phrase match keywords to your account can help you find some well-performing long-tail keywords. Once you find these long-tail keywords, you can choose to bid up higher on them or include them in your Ad Copy. Additionally, if you are a local business, you may find that people are searching for your service along with the city. This can provide you with information for which cities you could potentially be targeting, or where to focus attention. Whatever you choose, monitoring the search term report and appending to your negative keyword list is key!

Hi,
Yes I would go for exact match. In my own campaign I'm using exact match keywords for most of he Ad groups and if you are not getting click volume that you are aiming for I would suggest you to use Broad Match Modifier but keep checking search terms regularly and block irrelevant search terms.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

I've 'lost' my Google Referral Traffic
We recently re-launched our website on a new platform, PrestaShop. Up until that launch, our website, based on the DNN platform, received several thousand clicks per month from what Google Analytics classified as 'Google/referral', and several thousand more clicks collectively from international Google/referrals, i.e. Canada, Germany, UK and France. When the re-launched site went live, these clicks all went to zero on Google Analytics. My question is: Did we actually lose this Referral traffic through an improper setting on our new platform, or is this Referral simply being re-categorized in some other Source category like Organic Search?

We are getting really good results. almost 50% conversion rate, all the keys are in average position of 1.5, the quality score is high (between 6-10),Search Lost IS, is really low. Everything split to group, zip code, cities, for mobile or desktop... basically everything is going really well. BUT as we always want to increased the results and like all if us we have the presser from the client to improve and get more results, i feel that im a bit stuck. What other stuff i can do to improve\extend the campaign ? Any tips are more then welcome!0 -
Questions on Paid Directory Links...
Hi Moz Community! We have a client in the manufacturing industry that is listed in Thomasnet.com for a about 75 different terms. For those that might not know, this is a paid directory site that ranks extremely well and has a very high DA at just under 90. These 75 different terms have spanned about 9,000 "dofollow" links on Thomasnet.com around 4 months back, right about the same time as the Penguin 2.0 update. The link profile for this client had around 2,000 links prior to the 9,000 additional links, and our team is unclear if we should be concerned about these paid directory links. The organic rankings have dropped a bit, but that might be because of a more general Penguin update and not be directly tied to this paid directory. I'm looking for some general guidance and recommendations in this paid directory space and help with Thomasnet.com if available. Should these links be requested as changed to "nofollow"?

Will Google see this domain as one major domain link?
What other recommendations/experience with "quality" paid directories can be expected? Thanks much and look forward to your comments and discussion. Dario0 -
Adwords enhanced campaigns - Specify alternate destination URLs
Morning Mozzers, I am setting up a new campaign for a client, they would like to target mobile devices which evidently i can no longer do with enhanced campaigns; however i have increased the Mobile bid as much as possible and set the default CPC low to try and minimise appearance in desktop search. The client has a desktop and a mobile version of the destination page but the site will not direct users to the correct page based on their device as they are two separate domains. As such i want to know if i can specify an alternate destination URL for an ad in Adwords based on if the click comes from a mobile or desktop device? The other option is to set all my Ads within the Adgroup to have mobile as the device preference and just use the mobile landing page, but not sure if there is a neater solution here? Thanks, Tom.

Right keywords for Design/Development Company.
Hello There. I was doing research on getting keywords that are likely to generate leads and later to customers for a new website design and website development company in India. The search volume for india wasnt pleasing for me i couldnt find the keywords that felt they would be a great choice for the client. Additionally when i tried to target the location specific keywords like website design company in ahmedabad - It felt more like people are searching for job and stuff through google instead of hiring them. So i need a little help here guys. What do you think is a great keyword strategy for a new starter company which has target audience in 100 radius of their location and provides these services. website design/development iphone/ipad application development android application development
