Reusing content on different ccTLDs
-
We have a client with many international locations, each of which has their own ccTLD domain and website. Eg company-name.com, company-name.com.au, company-name.co.uk, company-name.fr, etc.
Each domain/website only targets their own country, and the SEO aim is for each site to only rank well within their own country.
We work for an individual country's operations, and the international head office wants to re-use our content on other countries' websites. While there would likely be some optimsation of the content for each region, there may be cases where it is re-used identically.
We are concerned that this will cause duplicate content issues.
I've read that the separate ccTLDs should indicate to search engines that content is aimed at the different locations - is this sufficient or should we be doing anything extra to avoid duplicate content penalties? Or should we argue that they simply must not do this at all and develop unique content for each?
Thanks
Julian

Julian,
Will you be translating the content into other languages?
And/or customizing it for the location? For example, changing US English spelling to the rest of the world English spelling?
To answer your question, no, you don't have to worry as much about duplicate content if it is only happening on different ccTLDs. The biggest issue with duplicating content is that Google has to choose one to show. In this case, that decision becomes easy to do: Show the one in the right country.
Use of Href Lang tags, and setting the target country in GSC, are helpful hints as well. I recommend using this tool by Aleyda Solis and team to build out the tags: https://www.aleydasolis.com/english/international-seo-tools/hreflang-tags-generator/

Is there harm in publishing too much content, at once?
We are working on catching up with some competition, who has done a much better job over the last few years with content creation. We normally publish 1 article a day but are looking at scaling that up to 3 to 4 articles a day so we can get our content out there to compete with the other websites, in keyword space we currently aren't in. Is there a negative impact on publishing too much content at once? Is there a negative impact on publishing too much content at once? Besides the probable inability to market all of it, I don't see any issues since we will be getting our articles indexed and out there for Google to start building value on them. However, some team members are apprehensive about doing too much at once. What are your thoughts Moz Community?

Content Spinner Tool??? Worth? Recommendations?
Hi all !! We have different websites in the english language (UK, IE, US, etc...), but we focus our content strategy (landing pages) in just one of them. We were thinking about using a Content spin tool to use this content in the other websites and give them an extra push in terms of SEO (content is the king :)). Did you have any idea if they work fine? Did you have any experience with them? Can you recommend any? Are they tools really worth or they are not working fine and after the spin a full review (and probably some re-write) is necessary? Of course I´m talking about the paid ones.... Not even thinking about the free tools 😉 Thanks for your help in advance !!!

Add a Search box (content hub) for my website?
Hello We would like to introduce a search area in our website, to help our users to find all information regarding a specific topic (landing pages, infographics, blogs, videos, etc...). Before we decide to build everything internally, we were wondering if there is any widget or plugging to make this in a smooth way and that works fine. I have also seen that Google offers a custom search option to make this happens. I would really appreciate advice about what to do regarding this topic: Is there any company that offers a really good solution for this? Is worth to use Google custom search option? Or the best option is build it internally? PS: I have seen that there are many plugins for wordpress, but our site is not a wordpress blog. Just to clarify. Many thanks for your help 🙂

Be brutily honest - What do you think of this old content?
My website reports on news relating to certain web hosting providers, and being hit by the latest phantom update a little I am looking back a little more harshly on some of my content with especially the older articles needing alot of work (I know some areas on the site need work), and there are some articles I am just not sure about. I have listed a few OLD articles below https://www.besthostnews.com/the-power-of-shared-web-hosting-by-bluehost/ https://www.besthostnews.com/siteground-sponsors-wordcamp-london/ https://www.besthostnews.com/free-ebook-guide-to-starting-a-website-on-a-budget-a-small-orange/ These are 3 old articles that I have previously updated several months ago, but are they good enough. Due to the nature of the site sometimes I will report on certain news \ features that a web host releases, and sometimes there is very little to write about. These are probably a good example where I feel there is a struggle to write enough or the quality is perhaps lower than something that has more information to report on. I would appreciate some harsh critical view points \ and perhaps suggestions on how to improve my writing style for these kind of generic style posts.

How do I split page content?
So I offer two services for which each has an FAQ page (let's call them S1 and S2). The problem is that I also have a longer FAQ page that covers both services (S1-2). I would like to eliminate the longer one and attach the relevant content to each of the shorter pages but i'm concerned that deleting pages with a lot of content might be a bad idea. I could redirect I suppose but I wouldn't know which page S1 or S2 to point redirect to. Any advice on this?

Could this be an issue with duplicate content?
Hi everyone, I am working with a business consultant in the HVAC industry and doing SEO for 8 of his clients (all HVAC businesses from around the US and Canada). Each website is essentially a mirror of the business consultant's website with really the same information-- it applies perfectly well to each individual website, but it IS nearly, if not, identical. I'm getting ready to implement a blog on the original HVAC page and have been considering using the same content (customized to reflect each business-- but still the same information) for blogs for my other 8 clients. My questions are: 1. Is the mirroring of the website a duplicate content problem? Example if you're interested: http://www.mcair.com (original) and http://www.jpsheating.ca/ (client). 2. Is using the same blog across 8 different website (customized for each client but the same basic information) a duplicate content issue? For example-- a blog about getting your air ducts cleaned... the information is going to be the same (and relevant) with each business and each business could benefit from sharing that information with their customers. Thanks so much for your help and explanation

Clear examples of SEO success with content marketing needed.
I know SEOmoz is always going on about content marketing as the best SEO tactic, but I'm struggling to achieve search engine success with it for my site. Has anybody very successfully pursued a content marketing strategy for their site in a competitive niche? Can you give us the examples? (including the keywords you succeeded for). Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Crawl error vs RSS feed content
Hi, I have a BuddyPress Multisite with sites dedicated to specific RSS feeds. I did this to pull in the content for my users. But they generate a 1000s of SEMOZ errors/warnings for dup content, dup titles, missing metatags. etc. So does keeping the content help my site SEO less than the errors? The content is not under my control so I have no way to relate it to my keywords. Any opinions? I can recreate these RSS sites, so I will probably delete them to see what happens. Larry
