Yes it's still duplicate content. Also, you almost never see a .ca domain ranking in the US. If the US market is big enough they should consider buying a .com and making unique content got the .com site.

Easy answer. Keep the original page and create two new pages properly addressing each target which will be more effective, write unique content for each, don't 301 and don't canonical to one url (canonical each to it's own page)

No, subdomains are separate sites. They should all be verified independently in WMT and then in the disavow page you'll see options for all the sites in a dropdown list and submit a disavow for each.

That isn't a huge number and image links don't pass semantics like a text link does so it's probably ok because images don't push rank, but I would nofollow them anyway because Google keeps changing the rules as they go.

I am right about to do this very same thing, also with laywers. I am suggesting they don't use the same phone number, adding a suite # is easy enough. I'll let you know how it goes.

more pageviews is good, and this is preferred, however you should allow only the first page to get indexed and the paginated subsequent pages should all be noindex,follow so that you aren't creating tons of low or no content pages.

I would leave the existing ones alone and create new page(s) targeting baptism and link to them prominently from the homepage and globally on the site, submit the URLs in WMT and add them to your sitemap.xml file for quicker indexing.

Definitely disavow them if you can't get the webmasters to cooperate. Article directory links are bad enough as is, scraped and reposted articles are worse.

Google allows a higher threshold of brand name anchor texts because that's how people would naturally link to you commonly. That being said, it's good to hear that they are variations, I would keep mixing them up as much as possible.

It definitely matters, since it's an aged and trusted domain AND it's a not for profit site definitely leave it as .org and forward the .com name to the .org site.

main keyword anchor text is sometimes not exploited with a negative SEO attack, it's just a massive amount of links from bad sites which harm the site in general. this can easily be detected with link detox for example or you can do a link:(space)www.yourdomain.com search in Google.

totally doable, 1-2 keywords per page, so a 50-100 page site can accomplish this. no problem at all

Make a US section of the site and target that subfolder for US rankings. That subfolder should have a US address if you can make that happen and be geotargeted for the US. Or you could create a second site, keep them hosted differently and not interlinked. Might actually be a good idea if you want US customers to feel you are a US company and not that they are hiring a UK company to do work in the US which makes companies a bit leery sometimes.

That might not have enough variation if the only variables changing in the transcript are the size of the wheels.

If the traffic justifies writing unique content for those pages and you have the bandwidth, then go for it. Maybe put it in a jquery show/hide or low down on the page so it's not in the users face if it's a bit rambling.

it all comes down to the amount of content on the pages. hyper targeted pages like sizes usually don't get enough editor attention or have enough unique content written about them to make them valuable and in that case a main page listing the sizes will suffice because they will rank for those sizes if the content is on the page because it is so extremely long tail...and protects you from panda. I just went through this exercise with a pool company who had several brands and multiple sizes and we opted to not get so granular.

Block the page in robots.txt as well and go into Webmaster Tools and request URL removal and they will remove the URL from the Google index.

I definitely agree, it's relevant and they will probably pass a lot of PR sine the privacy page is usually all text and limited outgoing links.

Didn't surprise me, instead of trading a link for money you're trading a link for content it's still a paid link.

They want you to conform to what they have available so try "home" or some other keyword that describes your niche until you find one they have in their database dropdown.

I think it's a decent idea because thew privacy policy page is usually linked to from the global footer so usually this page accrues decent PR if the site has PR. Also there are usually very few outgoing links on a privacy page, and it's only a link on that one page and not sitewide which is good.

Weird, my rankings have fallen on one of my sites and all the main pages that were ranking are now PR unranked.

We did ad some domains to a disavow file, but nothing major that should have had an impact like this. Pages are all allowed to be indexed and not blocked and are currently indexed in Google.

Can Google just come around and decide they don't like these pages anymore and PR unrank them all?

Sitewide links are never good and blogroll links were sold big time a few years back, i would not interlink non related sites owned by the same entity, or if you do nofollow them and in either case don't use main keywords.

This is the correct way to present Google with different region and language folders for best SEO. You're doing it correctly.

Webmaster Tools parameter handleing and also add canonical tags to all of your pages and this combination will care care of your issue.

If it's a commonly used acronym then both the full keyword phrase and the accronym should be included in the SEO optimization process.

6000 pages sounds like improper pages are getting indexed, unless you have 6000 articles which i doubt.

I would block the /tag/ and /category/ and /2013/ type of folders. Yoast plugin will do that for you. Then you're down to just content. If the anchor texts are overdone that could hurt you and I would disable the incontent interlinking if it's overdone for SEO. Then you're left with compliant pages that won't hurt your site, and if it's content that is unique and not spun type of junk I would just leave it on the site since extra content on the site is a good thing, even if the blog posts aren't generating much traffic or ranking. It could be linked to less prominently on the site like in the footer so that less PR is getting passed to it and users aren't visiting it as much from the main pages. Users and PR is staying focused on the main site.

Paid to put them up and paid to remove them, amazing isn't it.

It really depends on how toxic the links are, what your link profile looks like, if you are trying to recover from a penalty and how much money your site generates. I have paypalled people many times to remove links for me for their "coding time" but i've usually reached out offering via email and offered instead of people telling me I have to pay.

If the link is on a horrible site and sitewide for instance it might be worth it to pay to get that link down.

It is only one of several factors Google could take into account. Same registrar owner, interlinking, shared assets etc are all factors used by Google to determine having more than one horse in the race for same keyword targets. If hosting location is the only interconnectivity you're probably alright, but if the site is completely nuked and you're phasing it out you might just want to noindex it and then you will automatically be fully compliant.

you can put a chunk of content on the page like in the sidebar or footer so you can get a couple instances of the main keyword on the homepage which always remains there regardless of whether the latest blog posts contain that content or not. Also, in the homepage image file name, meta description, h1 or wherever else it's approproate to add it without overdoing it of course.

The site features tens of thousands of profiles. Profile owners can purchase sponsored links that will feature their  profiles in strategic sections of the sites. These links can be featured on internal search results, related profile pages and on the top of the directory listings. The only reason their links are displayed is because they bought into the program.

Your listing pages should definitely have the prev and next tags. These tags were created for pagination. There are other solutions on how deal with pagination, but this is the one that Google recommends .  The bigger question for you is if you see value in Google indexing the listing pages and what possible landing page traffic you can expect from these pages. Without much index value, I would suggest adding a noindex, follow tag to your listing pages and avoid a potential Panda penalty.

I am having an internal debate on the need to use nofollow tags on sponsored internal links that link to internal pages. One thought is based on this Matt Cutts video  (Should internal links use rel="nofollow"?) in which he says that there is never a need to use a nofollow tag on an internal link. The other school of thought is that paid links with follow tags are a violation of Google policy and it does not matter if they link internally or externally. Matt was just not thinking of this scenario in his short video. Would love to hear if anyone has had any manual action from Google based on their internal links.

If you're going to spam then use  www.example.com because if that anchor text gets suppressed no one is typing that in anyway to find you.

There is a slight chance that the footer link is encrypted and removing it will break the formatting of the theme. Just a heads up, if you see that happen you'll need to do a little bit of Googling and you will find the solution, it's only slightly tricky if you know programming.

I completely agree with Dan's advice - he just gave you like a grand of free research and advice.  Age doesn't matter - you need to clean up bad links from the past.

As long as the path is crawlable that extra folder has absolutely no benefit or any negative effect on SEO. Keywords in folder name / URLs to not help push rank.
