Site search in Google results

If you Google 'Rightmove', you'll see they have a site search bar in the Google search results - please see image link.
Anybody have any idea how they have managed to achieve this?

"sitelinks being a product of search volume"
No, I've seen startup eCom brand sites with embarrassingly low search volume receive sitelinks so that isn't strictly the criteria.
-
Like I said I saw this once before and I asked their SEO guy how it got there and he told me they used Google Sitesearch. If there is more to it than that then he didn't tell me and I've never tried to get it myself.

Plenty of sites using Google Site Search do not get this search box, including HubSpot. None of our properties that use Google Search have this box. There must be more to it then that.

I disagree. One might infer that using Google's site search product on your site might be a ticket in that just doesn't seem to be the case as the site I work for utilized Google's first search appliance back in 2004 and now uses Google's site search. As a "go figure" example, here's two large online cycling retailers - one earns search, the other doesn't (Performance Bike, Bike Nashbar). neither is using Google site search.
A terse response on the GWT help forum answers that same question with "There is nothing you can do. Google will add it automatically if the algorithm deems the site worthy." Just as with sitelinks being a product of search volume and clear navigation choices, it would seem Google would be looking for similar qualities here. It's not necessarily site traffic volume, as neither Macys or Target earn this feature. This is an ask Matt Cutts question at the next SES or SMX.

Thanks Daniel - clearly something they are paying for.

I have seen this before and it was due to the website employing Google Sitesearch. Basically instead of using the default search function on your website platform you install Google's own Sitesearch product. Then your sitesearch will appear in search results.

Google showing different links in SERPs
Google search results are showing my site links in both URLs, "mydomain.com" and "https://mydomain.com". However the one with https is showing a favicon, and the other one is not. So i wanna keep the https one and remove the other one. I went to GSC to submit "mydomain.com" for removal and it said that URL will be deleted in ALL of its variations. So how do i delete the "mydomain.com" links? Should i just index the ones with https again? Would that work? Someone suggested me to do 301 redirect on all pages that are being displayed twice. But i am not sure if i need to do that since i am using squarespace, and both of the links lead to the same page?

Is it bad for international SEO to redirect CcTLDs and install Google website translator plugin to the primary domain (UK)?
We've bought lots of country extensions, e.g. .es, .fr, .in, .me, etc. Rather than employing translators, will it be acceptable for SEO to install the google translate plugin to the site, and 301 redirect the country extensions to the .com address?

Google crawled "Cross Domain" links. Is this an issue? if yes then how we can remove it?
We have two sites. One site for US (site.com)and another is for India(site.co.in). Redirection is working based on ip address and location. So if I write US(site.com) site link in India location then it will automatically redirect to India site(site.co.in). We have given a link in the header of the site which will be used to open another country site. Example : Currently India site open in my browser so it contain US site link. and US site open in my browser so it contain India site link. We check on google web master and we found back links of cross domains so Is it an issue?

Will google believe my website has plagiarised if I publish news that is published on a newswire?
I use newswires to publish press releases or articles for clients. Almost all are published on one site such as PRWeb and picked up by newspapers/publishers. Each of these pieces reference the source as PRWeb (for example). Each press release is then added to the company website. Do I run the risk of search engines believing this to be plagiarised if not referenced to the 'original source' being PR Web? Thanks

YouTube, Closed Captions and Search
Hey team, Just wondering if there's anyone out there that may have dabbled with YouTube closed captions and if having them has any effect at all on search results. My theory (unfounded) is that perhaps these files can be crawled (or viewed) by crawlers and/or given priority in search due to having indexible content which defines the content within the clip - which otherwise wouldn't have been known. Now, I have no evidence that this may be the case but wondering if anyone out there may have seen or read something about it. Seems like kind of a cool thing for SE's to do to help promote accessibility across teh web. Thanks guys.

Searching google without bias
i read a tip once and can't find the reference to that tip. It had to do with searching google without including the history of your searches to bias the result. The user was suppose to put a code at the end of the URL, like &pw or something like that. Anyone hear of this?
