Social Media Monitoring not working
-
Hi there,
Anyone having problems with the Blogscape Social Media Monitoring tool or is it just me?
I've tried it in 3 different browsers (Safari, Firefox and Chrome) but all show the same thing: a white rectangle (where I supposed it would be a graph). If I type anything on the box at the top and hit enter, the text box gets emptied. Typing something and then changing the time (from 2 weeks to 1 month, for example), produces no result. Thanks

Yes buddy, too bad for us. It seems is not just you and me though. According to Nick, the tool is currently broken.
Hopefully Nick will get it working for us in no time

Hi Nick,
Thanks for your reply. To be honest, since the Social Media tool is right below the Keywork Tool and look just like it, I didn't realize it was still a Labs tool.
Hope you guys can get it at least partially working anytime soon.
Cheers,

Hey Leni,
Unfortunately, that Labs tool is still broken, but for a good reason! We're working on a new version that should get put up sometime soon. Unfortunately, I don't have a date for the release, but I think it'll be sometime this month. We don't really support the Labs tools since they're alpha state, but I'll do what I can to get it up fast!
Have a great day,
Nick

Tools which scan urls for social data
Hi can anyone recommend any tools out there, which can allow me to scan a list of pages (urls) and give me back social data for each page (e.g. number of facebook likes, shares, twitter data, google plus, etc) Cheers, Chris

I have a Rel Canonical "notice" in my Crawl Diagnostics report. I'm presuming that means that the spider has detected a rel canonical tag and it is working as opposed to warning about an issue, is this correct?
I know this seems like a really dumb question but the site I'm working on is a BigCommerce one and I've been concerned about canonicalisation issues prior to receiving this report (I'm a SEOmoz pro newbie also!) and I just want to be clear I am reading this notice correctly. I presume this means that the site crawl has detected the rel canonical tag on these pages and it is working correctly. Is this correct?? Any input is much appreciated. Thanks

How do data feeds work in product selection
Hi – I don't know if this is an SEO matter or not, but I have data feeds to Google, Bing and thefind.com for all of my products. I have no idea if these feeds help. My guess is that they do not generate much business. For example if I type in "Brass Bookends" our products usually don't show up until the late pages. Using this as an example does anyone know how these sites select the order in which they display products? Another way to phrase this is what makes thefind.com show a competitor's brass bookends several pages before ours? FYI we have been doing these data feeds for a year on a consistent basis so being new shouldn't be a factor. Any insights will be most appreciated. Thanks. Don. www.uniquegiftsanddecor.com

The "Social Media Monitoring" tool in research tools
I used this tool once and noticed it provided nice links to where listed keywords were posted in articles, forums, blogs, etc..., since that time @3 weeks ago... it lists an "error" to links and/or doesn't provide them in a linkable list below to access. Is this tool being worked on or will it be available in the future? Thank you.
