"Get price" vs "Request a Quote"
-
I've read somewhere that "Request a Quote" can sometimes put people off a little bit and that Ill be better having "Get Price". Were an installation service company. I cna have a PRicing page were the customer can fill some information and be provided with a price on the website. Would this be a better option than having a request a quote page?
Has anyone had any positive or negative experience with this strategy?

Thanks, appreciate the advice. Im using Wordpress for the new site Im creating so Im sure theres a great tool for A/B testing. Ill give the two options a try. The other thing is can I have the cta too many times ont he page. Ive got the CTA on a green button for contrast and its in the header on the right. Ive also added it 4 times in the content after each section where I explain each benefit. Ive also then got it at the bottom of the page too. Not sure whether it will look a bit too spammy or the more the better?

As Michael stated, best way forward may be to A/B test it using different methods.
Form + button, button only, conditional form etc.
One constant consideration is to ensure your content is consistent to where your visitor is with regards to the purchasing path and also the page target/goal.
Good luck,
Regards,

IT will really depend on your area and the language your customers use. I have seen the same CTA wording, in the same region perform both amazing and far below expectation, and it had to do with what the end product was and the language that people in the area used when looking for those services. Your best bet it to run an A/B test yourself and see which CTA responds better to your potential customers.

Can You Get Better Ranking/Conversion by Reducing the Number of Pages?
I am seriously considering reducing the number of pages in a section of our website. We currently have 39 webpages. I'm considering reducing it to 6. The site architecture would make more sense giving recent design changes. And we could focus more attention on improving conversions from these 6 new pages. But I'm considering doing this mainly because I think it'll help us do a better job of communicating to and converting our audience. The new pages would be longish. The existing 39 pages are by no means stubs, but these new pages would be longer. Anyway, what I want to put out for discussion is the SEO impact. What are the good SEO reasons for reducing the number of pages? Can 6 well-done pages out perform 39 pretty-well-done pages? How many queries can one page rank for well? Is this SEO suicide? Honestly, there's a part of me that cannot believe I'm saying this, but I think my heart is in the right place.

What if your content is getting social shares but no links?
Suppose you have a weekly blog article and sometimes your articles earn social shares (e.g. 23 +1's on Google Plus on one article but normally 3-5 social shares). One out of 10 earns an organic link from a random blog. Would you continue publishing these blog posts?

Global Blogs vs Regionalised blogs
Im in the process of launching a blog. The blog will be for global audience. If I wanted to target a more specific region in the future example UK would it be advisable to launch a separate blog for the UK market or how could I regionalise the posts if I kept blogging on the Global blog.

How to Get Rid of Duplicate Content Captured on Article Lists
We have a ton of articles and blog posts on our site. Currently, we display summary lists of articles that contain the first paragraph of the article in the summary list. However, in my reports, this is coming back as duplicate content with the full article itself. How do I fix this? Ex: article main page- http://www.robots.com/articles/10 First article on that page- http://www.robots.com/articles/viewing/grippers-for-robots (which shows up as duplicate content with the main artilce page). With our blogs, we have the most recent 5 blogs (in the same summary format) listed on our main blog page. We then have categories that people can sort by. But again, this is causing us duplicate content because those pages show the first paragraph of the blogs related to that category. Ex: blog main page- http://www.robots.com/blog. First blog listed on that page- http://www.robots.com/blog/viewing/robots-and-automation-bringing-jobs-back-to-the-united-states (which then shows as duplicate content with the main blog page). And then you can also select categories to see related topics: http://www.robots.com/blog/category/buying-a-robot which is showing as duplicate content also. Help! How can I prevent this? Thanks! Services Page vs Page For Each Service Offered
Read an interesting article about how websites with just a "services" page suffer and they should try to create a meaningful page for each service they offer... Read so many blogs right now that I can't remember where I saw it

What is the best way to get around duplicate content when you are advertising exactly the same content on two different sites?
I am currently trying to improve exposure for an online degrees website but the content for the degree program pages is exactly the same as the company's main website. What would you suggest for getting around the duplicate content issue as a lot of the curriculum content will obviously be the same for each module, etc? Thanks
