Best Practices: Mobile & Desktop Ad Design for Adwords?

Is it possible to have Google Adwords display different page versions according to whether an advertisement will be displayed on a mobile or desktop device?
We are a commercial real estate brokerage based in New York City. Most converting website use desktop rather than mobile. We are considering advertising on Google Adwords. Is it possible to have Google serve a more elaborate form of desktop landing page but have Google serve a stripped down version to mobile users? The stripped down version would be created using Instapage. From a technical perspective how would we create a more elaborate desktop version and have Google distinguish between the two?
In our experience, mobile converts much less. How much less should we bid for keywords displaying on mobile?

Hey,
I'm sorry, I was talking about Ad groups. Here's an example of how I would set up my campaign with your example.
I would set up four campaign separate campaign which is
loft space, loft space - mobile, medical space, medical space - mobile
then within those campaigns, you can have different ad groups to target the set of keywords of the products.

I absolutely intend to A/B test with different versions of designs, calls to action and text. I am new to Adwords so a few questions please:
A campaign is meant for a product? So let's say "loft space" and "medical space" were products, I would set up a different campaign for each, and the campaign would contain different ad groups, which would be different text ads. Is that correct?
But I don't understand the concept of extensions. What is an extension?

I assume we can set up the 2 landing pages on Instapage and then use on of the 4 methods to have the ad served according to whether the user is viewing on a desktop or mobile device, is that correct?
How long does this take to set up? 15 minutes an hour? Pretty simple to do or takes some skill?
Can we use the Worpress plugin? Our website is on Wordpress and the ads will be designed using Instapage.

Hello Alan,
Since you're already using Instapage just want to make sure you're aware there are an A/B test features. You can also set up more than one Adwords campaign and multiple ad extensions based on how many version you would like to test.
Make sure you set up the conversion tracking properly so you will be able to know in future how much more or less you should bid for a certain keyword on a certain platform or channel. There's no way to tell without running an actual campaign and start collecting data
I recommend running the campaign for few weeks with max conversion goal settings and then optimize accordingly.

Yes there are 4 options:
- If You're using CloudFlare you can specify a sub domain for mobile version
- Joomla and Wordpress offer several plugins for this particular function
- Utilizing Javascript window.location
- Most commonly my preferred method .htaccess

IE & Edge issues with site relaunch - advice appreciated
Hi, I've been involved in a major ecommerce site relaunch, redesign and backend and have been involved in several successful ones before. On the whole things have gone great. Of course there are some minor bugs to fix, rendering issues etc but my real concern is a significant decline in conversion rate BUT only for IE and Edge users. All other major browsers conv rate has increased. Trawling through analytics and the site itself in those browsers there is no obvious sticking points e.g bounce rate has improved on all browser inc IE & Edge, no particular point in the funnel is suffering more than others, no particular page or landing page is doing much worse than others etc. it just seems like all the kpi's (except bounce) are down a little on the 2 microsoft browsers, which has a significant impact. One of the things that changed on relaunch is that we moved to https and im wondering if that might be causing an issue with IE / Edge security or privacy settings or that functionality on the site that relies on cookies is being affected, though in testing we haven't come across anything. Suggestions to Improve Worst Conversion Form Ever Designed?
My commercial real estate web site has about the worst conversion form ever designed (http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/visitor-details). The form appears whenever a visitor does a property search. If they do not release their phone number and email address they don't get results. The form only gets completed 25% of the time and often the contact details are wrong. The visitors either exit the site at that page or go to the listing or neighborhood pages to view listings without doing a filtered search. In an attempt to increase conversions we are softening the form and not making completion mandatory. After entering an inquiry the visitor will be shown three property listings before the form pops up, The idea being that once they have seen product they will be more inclined to release contact info. Also, the form will appear once they have viewed three listings anywhere on the site, not just for search results. Unlike the existing conversion form (http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/visitor-details) we are trying to keep the text very concise. The new form will be Java script rather than a URL. Can anyone offer some ideas on how to make the text of these new forms more enticing? The forms are listed below. We will probably show the first one after the visitor views 3 listings and the variation of it after the visitor views another 3 listings. ** FORM #1** Quit wasting time searching for listings. Using my Adwords budget
Hi, I have a huge budget for adwords but I only seem to be using about 1/10 of it daily. How to I go about using more budget but also keeping my conversion costs and % around the same? And should each campaign have its own set of unique keywords? Should these keywords never appear in more than 1 campaign? Any tips on maximising budget and increasing conversions would be great. Tracking Adwords Conversions for eCommerce ROI
I'm working with a rather large eCommerce customer who needs to be able to track their Adwords conversions for the purpose of determining the ROI of their Adwords campaigns. I've installed code from Google Adwords Conversions on their eCommerce page, but it doesn't seem to be calculating values correctly. Also, where would setting goals in Analytics come in to play if I'm trying to track the conversions of specific Adwords conversions?

Google Adwords Quality Score Driving me I-N-S-A-N-E
Here's my issue, I have an Air Conditioning client for whom I've been managing their SEO and Adwords PPC for the past year. The SEO is going good, we are seeing tangible results every month will soon be on page 1 for their most competitive keyword. On the adwords side, we are having some major issues though and I'm racking my brain. We are somehow getting quality scores in the 2's and 3's on the regular. I've streamlined my campaigns down to the city and within those I've streamlined my keyword groups into the following groups: City (Campaign) - AIr Conditioning (keyword group) - AC Repair (keyword group) - Fix AC (keyword group) - Contractor (keyword group) - Air Conditioner (keyword group) Every keyword we're bidding on falls nicely into one of these keyword groups and we're putting about 10 key words in each. Landing pages have exact phrase match in page title, h1, bold words, contact form and a coupon image with all the meta tags indicating the image offer matches the offer in our ads. We are running 3-4 ads in each keyword and testing new ads almost daily. Still getting 2s and 3s on the highest trafficked keywords (air conditioning & ac repair). I've read everything out there, I signed up for wordstream which had some decent recommendations (basically break your ad groups into smaller verticals) which I've implemented to no avail. I'm beginning to think Google is just hustling all these companies in service industry who they know rely on adwords to get phone calls in the summer - especially the HVAC industry. I'm running out of ideas here other than just going to Vegas and putting all my client's on black at the roulette wheel. Seems like a much more fun way to piss away thousands of dollars and at least they'll give me some cocktails.

Reviews not shown on google search & seller rating extensions (adwords)
Hello, we have 2 questions, regarding reviews from rating websites. 1. Reviews on google Search We have several reviews for our website www.theprintspace.co.uk from various rating sites (e.g. qype, yelp, remotegoat, etc.). When searching for theprintspace on google, only some reviews and only some rating website are shown, most are not. For qype, for instance, we have 8 reviews, but google only indicates that we have 3. The yelp reviews (and many others) are not shown at all. According to google, it takes a maximum of 2 months for the correct number of reviews to be shown on google, but the reviews have been online for over 2 months now. Is there any way this problem can be solved, so google shows the correct number of reviews? 2. Seller rating extensions on google adwords We would like the reviews to be displayed in our google adwords as a seller rating extension. These will include the merchant star rating for advertisers that are highly rated on Google Product Search. We are setting up a google merchant account to do so. Google says: "Ratings are based on the user reviews collected by Google Product Search, which aggregates reviews from a broad base of sources across the web, including Reseller Ratings, Bizrate, ReviewCentre.com and Viewpoints." Do you know if the following rating website are in google's "base of sources" and will thus be recognised and used in google adwords as rating extensions? Is it possible to extract the exact USER search terms used on adwords campaigns?
Suppose I have a adwords campaign, with an adgroup targetting the broad match term "cell phones". Is it possible to get metrics on the exact keywords users have used to create ad impressions, clicks or conversions for that campaign? Many thanks
