Running image ads with text is better? - anyone have the link?
-
Blank mind and cant find the Google research (or maybe it was someone else) that showed that sales were better when running image ads alongside your text ads
Does anyone have that link?
Cheers

I linked to a couple of resources over on distilled some time ago:
http://www.distilled.net/blog/ppc/combining-search-and-display-advertising/
Are any of those what you are looking for? Microsoft research is generally pretty powerful in this area.

It has been my experience that text ads definitely get more clicks than banner ads, especially if the text links are positioned within content and appear to be more integrated into the site, instead of a banner on the top of the page for example. People have been trained to ignore banners and ads that sit outside of the website.

what this might refer to is a known blackhat tactic. Where you put images lined up right next to each ad. This will increase the click thru rate. I ve read people having an increase of four fold. This practice is banned by adsense and will not help you since you are the advertiser. It only benefits publisers.

Sorry, I don't think I said it very clearly
Basically, I am running Google Adwords text ads in Google search.
I want to start running banner ads on various websites as well, but I would like to have the research to back up the decisions to test this

Is it possible to link two sites' Search Console to Adwords?
My company is a healthcare organization that has two brands, one that's our 'system' and is mainly adult health services and the other is pediatric only focused care. Both have separate websites. Our SEM is managed by an outside agency. We're in the process of linking our Google Search Consoles to the Adwords account. Our GSC has both of the sites as separate properties, but the Adwords account has all of the campaigns for both brands under one account. Is it possible to link both of the GSC properties in the Adwords account to be able to get accurate information for the Paid & Organic report in Adwords?

Can Google Shopping Ads Lower Ranking due to Bounce?
I am noticing Google Shopping Ads are showing up for really irrelevant keywords on some of my products. This quite predictably causes a high bounce rate when a user comes from these ads. There is very little control over what Google Ads seems to decide are relevant keywords from what I can see. Only control is by viewing search terms and setting as negative keywords, but his doesn't help much. Negative keywords are often ignored or they come up with some other really irrelevant new keyword. Seems this high bounce rate could hurt ranking? Any experiences shared with Google Shopping ads appreciated!

Google Product Ads
Hi,
Paid Search Marketing | | ChrisHolgate
I was wondering if I could ask is perhaps someone could give me some clarification as to how the amount we bid on Google Product Ads reflects the product positioning on Google Shopping? We have a Google Product Data Feed which is then linked up to our Adwords account so that we can determine a PPC bid amount. In instances like this it doesn't seem to make sense that one person may be paying 10ppc and another 20ppc when the buyers criteria for sorting merchants was purely down to the price. Since the buyer has the option to sort their products in price from minimum to maximum the sort order cannot be manipulated by Google based on the amount the merchant was paying. As such, how is determining a cost per click figure relevant when the customer is searching by base price low > high on Google Shopping? Surely I should just set the limit to £0.01 and rely on the customer determining the sort order (which ultimately will lead to a higher conversion rate) than allowing Google to skew the results based on bidding 20-30 times this amount? I should state that I'm in the UK. I do realise that a high PPC amount will increase our chance of exposure on standard search pages but my question does relate solely to results listed on Google Shopping. Thanks for your help! PPC - Fixing the campaign so ads always rank in positions 1 - 3
Hi everyone, I have more of a SEO background than a PPC one so excuse me if this question seems simple. I have inherited a Google Adwords campaign and want to accomplish the following Fix the campaign so the ads only appear in positions 1 – 3. The campaign came with a relatively good structure. Is there some way I can fix the settings to accomplish this? Conversion rates are high but quality scores vary from 6 -10 Thanks

Increasing Google Ad spend - is it worth it
Hi We are currently spending approx £500 pcm on google ad words however if I increased this spend to £4000 pcm what kind of results would this achieve? For example would it just be more visits per day as the budget is larger? Also what is the best way to track the success of an adwords campaign - the ultimate goal of the campaign would be to generate a lead whether this be a phone call, email or using our book an appointment form. Our service covers a geographical area (Scotland) and for organic search we are doing well 1st pages listings for searches such as pvc doors edinburgh etc so I am unsure whether it's worth increasing my PPC spend or put more resource into SEO, or even Facebook ads?

How important is Ad Group age?
We have an relatively old ad group running (from 2009) with an okay history. The average CTR is 3,19% and average position of **4,2. ** But the conversion (on website) is not really great. This has to do with bad landing pages, on products we don't actually want to sell. It's complicated but we have a new, better, landing page that we would like to advertise. Some ads would have to be combined, and others will have to be removed. Also the URLs will change. It would probably be best to start a fresh, new, clean ad group with a better structure. It would also be less work. The problem is; would this be a waste of the age and history of the current ad group? How big of a factor is this?
